動人心弦的小男孩 (Little Boy Touches Hearts)

I was walking around in a Target store, when I saw a Cashier hand this little boy some money back.* ^1 D# J: ^% K) [. |! ^1 w) q3 I/ s2 c
我在「塔杰」商店閒逛時,看到收銀員將一些錢退還給小男孩。% y( G' Z- Z0 H6 W7 S" ?

The boy couldn ' t have been more than 5 or 6 years old.7 k1 h5 z0 E7 e5 W

這男孩不過5、6歲。

: R. t8 y3 h1 jThe Cashier said, ' I ' m sorry, but you don ' t have enough money to buy this doll. '

! N# d9 a1 x5 [6 K- C/ \Then the little boy turned to the old woman next to him: ' ' Granny,
: ^8 W: O4 d8 e. h; }are you sure I don ' t have enough money? ' '9 |' V8 p6 j1 P1 ~$ t' m- [
小男孩轉向他旁邊的老婦人:! F: S' I/ N' _) A4 w& Q) O

「奶奶!妳也認為我的錢不 嗎?」

9 L$ |$ f/ ^* p( v3 |) `The old lady replied: ' ' You know that you don ' t have enough money to buy this doll, my dear. ' '
$ Q! H! d' ]( j! U- Q- g2 ~2 [7 i老婦人回道:「親愛的!你知道買這個娃娃的錢是不夠的。」( h0 r, W% X8 p8 f9 Q& T

Then she asked him to stay there for just 5 minutes while she went to look around. She left quickly.( U: y# i3 C9 |9 B1 S& p3 }

Finally, I walked toward him and I asked him who he wished to give this doll to.

She was sure that Santa Claus would bring it to her. '

I replied to him that maybe Santa Claus would bring it to her after all, and not to worry.

5 }& n* z% r. l5 E; CBut he replied to me sadly. ' No, Santa Claus can ' t bring it to her where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mommy so that she can give it to my sister when she goes there. '4 f0 Z6 [6 u& O3 J( l1 J

His eyes were so sad while saying this. ' My Sister has gone to be with God. Daddy says that Mommy is going to see God very soon too, so I thought that she could take the doll with her to give it to my sister. ' '

The little boy looked up at me and said: ' I told daddy to tell mommy not to go yet. I need her to wait until I come back from the mall. '( m) r! X" E. ^% J+ u

Then he showed me a very nice photo of himself. He was laughing. He then told me ' I want mommy to take my picture with her so she won ' t forget me. '5 u) o  S8 |, H; K2 Z: N

Then he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly.

I quickly reached for my wallet and said to the boy. ' Suppose we check again, just in case you do have enough money for the doll! ' '

'OK ' he said, ' I hope I do have enough. ' I added some of my money to his without him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll and even some spare money.' B. l+ Z8 g: `' ]5 \
『好呀!』他說『我希望有足夠的錢』。沒讓他看見,我塞了一些錢到他的錢包中,我們開始數錢。買娃娃的錢足 了,甚之還有剩餘呢。

! g9 k; E/ b" Y- u. I1 iThe little boy said: ' Thank you God for giving me enough money! '

Then he looked at me and added, ' I asked last night before I went to sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll, so that mommy could give it to my sister. He heard me! ' '" C" {+ {8 K, {- a$ e  Q

'I also wanted to have enough money to buy a white rose for my mommy, but I didn ' t dare to ask God for too much. But He gave me enough to buy the doll and a white rose. ' '

A few minutes later, the old lady returned and I left with my basket.

I finished my shopping in a totally different state of mind from when I started.

I couldn ' t get the little boy out of my mind.

Then I remembered a local news paper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck, who hit a car occupied by a young
, J0 Y5 }  v" M: r7 ^- b% `1 B$ owoman and a little girl., O9 ]' V) A9 U* c5 K" G
我想起兩天前當地報紙的一篇文章,提及一位醉酒卡車司機,撞上了一輛載著年輕少婦和一個小女孩的汽車。3 y4 W' V' @( l+ s- ~

state. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the
, d% e& g/ o; ^) U& r6 i$ c- h8 tlife-sustaining machine, because the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma., q/ _" C9 d5 f, |2 o* ^1 X4 }

9 B. x3 n, }3 j) KI couldn ' t stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and I went to the funeral home where the body of the young woman was for people to see and make last wishes before her burial.
2 i/ b9 J# @9 l$ B2 q& v  t/ F, E我不自主的買了一束白玫瑰,來到喪家,年輕少婦的遺體在她埋葬前讓人瞻仰與最後許願。

She was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest.

对自己负责。对别人负责,对社会负责,请勿酒后驾车。因为这个小男孩有可能成为你家的孩子。
