動人心弦的小男孩 (Little Boy Touches Hearts)

I was walking around in a Target store, when I saw a Cashier hand this little boy some money back.+ D: j3 u- T  M8 g9 p
我在「塔杰」商店閒逛時,看到收銀員將一些錢退還給小男孩。( J2 a/ u& W5 T
7 A0 u2 Q" X# w7 j; ?
The boy couldn ' t have been more than 5 or 6 years old.

這男孩不過5、6歲。

收銀員說:『抱歉!你買這娃娃的錢不夠。』

are you sure I don ' t have enough money? ' '

Then she asked him to stay there for just 5 minutes while she went to look around. She left quickly.0 q+ R( o* M# C6 f- Y. Y

The little boy was still holding the doll in his hand.

My heart nearly stopped.

. Y1 t* A: I$ n$ K* fThe little boy looked up at me and said: ' I told daddy to tell mommy not to go yet. I need her to wait until I come back from the mall. '

Then he showed me a very nice photo of himself. He was laughing. He then told me ' I want mommy to take my picture with her so she won ' t forget me. '

'OK ' he said, ' I hope I do have enough. ' I added some of my money to his without him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll and even some spare money.
$ w, {! e: p7 A  w" A( w  F4 l' A『好呀!』他說『我希望有足夠的錢』。沒讓他看見,我塞了一些錢到他的錢包中,我們開始數錢。買娃娃的錢足 了,甚之還有剩餘呢。

. I6 k7 C+ g/ z1 a* I- E* zThe little boy said: ' Thank you God for giving me enough money! '

Then he looked at me and added, ' I asked last night before I went to sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll, so that mommy could give it to my sister. He heard me! ' '" |3 e1 L9 I1 \! V7 R

I finished my shopping in a totally different state of mind from when I started.

我想起兩天前當地報紙的一篇文章,提及一位醉酒卡車司機,撞上了一輛載著年輕少婦和一個小女孩的汽車。! r9 m6 j/ }- H

2 `7 j, {# z0 \; d% L& SThe little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical
2 f& ^% O$ R. L# Astate. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the
5 t$ A0 M0 j+ R  Q) |life-sustaining machine, because the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma.1 i0 S0 v$ [* T+ Z5 L# i9 Y, |

Two days after this encounter with the little boy, I read in the news paper that the young woman had passed away.

I couldn ' t stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and I went to the funeral home where the body of the young woman was for people to see and make last wishes before her burial.7 F2 Z: j+ d7 R4 W' Z
我不自主的買了一束白玫瑰,來到喪家,年輕少婦的遺體在她埋葬前讓人瞻仰與最後許願。

9 f) @1 n( D  M0 qShe was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest.
