動人心弦的小男孩 (Little Boy Touches Hearts)

I was walking around in a Target store, when I saw a Cashier hand this little boy some money back.9 R) f! j5 U4 L2 u
我在「塔杰」商店閒逛時,看到收銀員將一些錢退還給小男孩。

The boy couldn ' t have been more than 5 or 6 years old.

  G& `. `" d9 e5 cThe Cashier said, ' I ' m sorry, but you don ' t have enough money to buy this doll. '" \  k  R1 C* t

Then the little boy turned to the old woman next to him: ' ' Granny,. N9 g1 D/ ^5 [. w/ ~
are you sure I don ' t have enough money? ' '

% x1 s& x9 H$ `; z' i, j0 w& C1 Z1 ZThe old lady replied: ' ' You know that you don ' t have enough money to buy this doll, my dear. ' '0 W" {3 w# }9 g- o! Z( P3 `3 c( `
老婦人回道:「親愛的!你知道買這個娃娃的錢是不夠的。」

$ Y4 I6 R  W3 u" YThen she asked him to stay there for just 5 minutes while she went to look around. She left quickly.! \* H: ^" a( E$ x7 x) I

Finally, I walked toward him and I asked him who he wished to give this doll to.

But he replied to me sadly. ' No, Santa Claus can ' t bring it to her where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mommy so that she can give it to my sister when she goes there. '

The little boy looked up at me and said: ' I told daddy to tell mommy not to go yet. I need her to wait until I come back from the mall. '

Then he showed me a very nice photo of himself. He was laughing. He then told me ' I want mommy to take my picture with her so she won ' t forget me. '

我趕緊摸著錢包對小男孩說『我們再檢查一下,說不定您有足夠的錢買玩偶! 』

+ o8 U, x9 J8 x8 w'OK ' he said, ' I hope I do have enough. ' I added some of my money to his without him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll and even some spare money.
6 o/ ?; u9 x' C. ~8 h! e『好呀!』他說『我希望有足夠的錢』。沒讓他看見,我塞了一些錢到他的錢包中,我們開始數錢。買娃娃的錢足 了,甚之還有剩餘呢。

1 `, n; N4 Z2 J% h, t3 g7 LThe little boy said: ' Thank you God for giving me enough money! '
% G7 p7 d. f/ h+ I8 n- J# C7 _小男孩說:『謝謝上帝給了我足 的錢!』# V# [+ T& u) i3 I0 y8 K# m  \

4 Y/ S" I/ L! h# a3 k( \* _; }Then he looked at me and added, ' I asked last night before I went to sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll, so that mommy could give it to my sister. He heard me! ' '

& V% K3 R7 Q+ e% ?8 `( vA few minutes later, the old lady returned and I left with my basket.; P. m$ I8 q$ f9 i! C

1 q9 I+ y# i0 p0 l4 oI couldn ' t get the little boy out of my mind.

) F: J& G* u' s6 B) {6 |Then I remembered a local news paper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck, who hit a car occupied by a young  L6 F" [) W/ E  x( m- @7 ]$ l
woman and a little girl.& y4 b- z1 l( Z) j
我想起兩天前當地報紙的一篇文章,提及一位醉酒卡車司機,撞上了一輛載著年輕少婦和一個小女孩的汽車。
& W9 P5 m% l+ ^ + F6 ?: [: e1 d$ G
The little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical
# P: j9 Z* H% z+ Qstate. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the" i8 }5 z: W/ D
life-sustaining machine, because the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma.  [2 _. R) O  `( U
小女孩當場死亡,母親呈現彌留狀態。 這個家庭必須決定是否要拔出維持生命機器的插管+ T; z  z( o' j; C2 P+ c' i

3 W# X( V. \, |Two days after this encounter with the little boy, I read in the news paper that the young woman had passed away.

I couldn ' t stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and I went to the funeral home where the body of the young woman was for people to see and make last wishes before her burial.
7 v8 e- ]: F! n2 `/ k1 J3 b我不自主的買了一束白玫瑰,來到喪家,年輕少婦的遺體在她埋葬前讓人瞻仰與最後許願。

- ]5 z3 k+ P4 r) [/ O0 X% mShe was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest.

I left the place, teary-eyed, feeling that my life had been changed for ever.. The love that the little boy had for his mother and his sister is

对自己负责。对别人负责,对社会负责,请勿酒后驾车。因为这个小男孩有可能成为你家的孩子。
