動人心弦的小男孩 (Little Boy Touches Hearts)

I was walking around in a Target store, when I saw a Cashier hand this little boy some money back.% Z8 C* Y7 B$ ~/ I7 @: A3 w5 j
我在「塔杰」商店閒逛時,看到收銀員將一些錢退還給小男孩。# q9 l  R! E0 a' A$ E

The boy couldn ' t have been more than 5 or 6 years old.1 P  b& ~! V7 k/ y7 k# T' [* m

這男孩不過5、6歲。$ p" N6 |5 f1 y* O# \9 h

The Cashier said, ' I ' m sorry, but you don ' t have enough money to buy this doll. '
, u! j9 k& x; e7 u' W+ Y收銀員說:『抱歉!你買這娃娃的錢不夠。』

Then the little boy turned to the old woman next to him: ' ' Granny,% p& U! C$ ?7 E* T; m& K
are you sure I don ' t have enough money? ' '

$ r: b8 m" R3 I3 ~" F0 j* V, ] & a' ~2 s7 N/ Z# M0 X; q

) R, a0 I5 F9 N: ]Then she asked him to stay there for just 5 minutes while she went to look around. She left quickly.+ m1 W5 V. R5 X( l* g1 O0 q3 T

I replied to him that maybe Santa Claus would bring it to her after all, and not to worry.

2 k/ X! C( W) J1 JBut he replied to me sadly. ' No, Santa Claus can ' t bring it to her where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mommy so that she can give it to my sister when she goes there. '9 l/ b2 C; W+ J. H; W9 d7 b

The little boy looked up at me and said: ' I told daddy to tell mommy not to go yet. I need her to wait until I come back from the mall. '
9 S5 M: [+ r$ l2 s8 G7 K" a2 a小男孩看我說:『我叫爸爸告訴媽媽現在不要走,讓她等我從購物中心回來。』

Then he showed me a very nice photo of himself. He was laughing. He then told me ' I want mommy to take my picture with her so she won ' t forget me. '

Then he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly.8 s* E) x: R/ q  n$ o

4 `6 i# l, t5 E$ e7 |/ P1 s- K2 a'OK ' he said, ' I hope I do have enough. ' I added some of my money to his without him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll and even some spare money.- ~8 }/ T$ S$ Z) }& I4 k$ M
『好呀!』他說『我希望有足夠的錢』。沒讓他看見,我塞了一些錢到他的錢包中,我們開始數錢。買娃娃的錢足 了,甚之還有剩餘呢。0 F8 `5 A  |! ^( E

The little boy said: ' Thank you God for giving me enough money! '4 f0 D( T& R" A7 g4 w
小男孩說:『謝謝上帝給了我足 的錢!』
# A: U9 s- S0 [+ E% k6 O$ F3 z 5 i/ v9 m0 |' o* s( N
Then he looked at me and added, ' I asked last night before I went to sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll, so that mommy could give it to my sister. He heard me! ' '; c: A  z! ?+ w* Z  x8 W

I finished my shopping in a totally different state of mind from when I started.. m( g7 n" N- i6 F' k7 ^

/ C9 e! Z, @* [, G) II couldn ' t get the little boy out of my mind.

& l- v; b1 R- J  G: x5 pThen I remembered a local news paper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck, who hit a car occupied by a young
. k1 m9 q) z) h2 Uwoman and a little girl.6 N  J4 T. G! g( Z4 f, ]6 Y) B& l, P
我想起兩天前當地報紙的一篇文章,提及一位醉酒卡車司機,撞上了一輛載著年輕少婦和一個小女孩的汽車。
4 R- g6 N; Z  L6 a0 o & v6 ?  w9 M% {# e
The little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical* v. d4 i$ c( n+ ]
state. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the
" t, c0 R( H9 V2 c% D' X' y6 ]life-sustaining machine, because the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma.
3 S1 T5 q' w1 ?$ F4 M  S) V  g6 d小女孩當場死亡,母親呈現彌留狀態。 這個家庭必須決定是否要拔出維持生命機器的插管$ i, b7 d5 v4 u% I* ?
,因為年輕少婦不可能從昏迷中恢復。

Two days after this encounter with the little boy, I read in the news paper that the young woman had passed away.

: s7 s4 q. X9 ~; I9 S1 X/ WI couldn ' t stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and I went to the funeral home where the body of the young woman was for people to see and make last wishes before her burial.
9 e2 B/ A( _# Q- U1 C6 e我不自主的買了一束白玫瑰,來到喪家,年輕少婦的遺體在她埋葬前讓人瞻仰與最後許願。7 t$ n5 z. q( j) z' u7 G- M+ t; g, ~
4 L" W: U  K  W$ F9 j5 f
She was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest.

I left the place, teary-eyed, feeling that my life had been changed for ever.. The love that the little boy had for his mother and his sister is1 V4 _; K, Y$ r% ]3 z6 E  J- D
still, to this day, hard to imagine.
/ |6 @5 p6 U# j, ]我離開了這裡,眼淚奪眶而出,覺得我的人生已經永遠改變了。至今,小男孩對他母親和妹妹的愛,仍然難以想像。

对自己负责。对别人负责,对社会负责,请勿酒后驾车。因为这个小男孩有可能成为你家的孩子。
