動人心弦的小男孩 (Little Boy Touches Hearts)

I was walking around in a Target store, when I saw a Cashier hand this little boy some money back.9 _% w( l/ R0 h! o" l

The boy couldn ' t have been more than 5 or 6 years old.; k: S: N+ n$ ?* [" |

. ~8 P& E& b% g$ y* AThe Cashier said, ' I ' m sorry, but you don ' t have enough money to buy this doll. '9 m- B. C: i1 G9 `8 F! S
收銀員說:『抱歉!你買這娃娃的錢不夠。』

& }% J6 [7 q2 B. x; x% T" sThen the little boy turned to the old woman next to him: ' ' Granny,

The old lady replied: ' ' You know that you don ' t have enough money to buy this doll, my dear. ' '9 B) G% O0 U- t/ ~
老婦人回道:「親愛的!你知道買這個娃娃的錢是不夠的。」& i0 n( `; T+ K5 n) a, R

' l) q. b0 h! Z' d5 RThen she asked him to stay there for just 5 minutes while she went to look around. She left quickly.

) c1 {$ I6 j" v) _I replied to him that maybe Santa Claus would bring it to her after all, and not to worry.

: u" e$ {2 x% J: T7 gBut he replied to me sadly. ' No, Santa Claus can ' t bring it to her where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mommy so that she can give it to my sister when she goes there. '' v8 o& F: f3 z  t/ B

9 y& ^1 c( O' B; DHis eyes were so sad while saying this. ' My Sister has gone to be with God. Daddy says that Mommy is going to see God very soon too, so I thought that she could take the doll with her to give it to my sister. ' '

My heart nearly stopped.
! ?7 D3 |7 j9 s3 A' r6 N3 W, o我的心臟幾乎要停止了。

The little boy looked up at me and said: ' I told daddy to tell mommy not to go yet. I need her to wait until I come back from the mall. '& F) g& ?( _( `  C' P) F

7 {4 ^1 r6 J# _. GThen he showed me a very nice photo of himself. He was laughing. He then told me ' I want mommy to take my picture with her so she won ' t forget me. '4 X2 ]5 b  O) T: z8 `1 `+ j" s& N

Then he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly.

'OK ' he said, ' I hope I do have enough. ' I added some of my money to his without him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll and even some spare money.8 `+ t' ~) H9 }% d
『好呀!』他說『我希望有足夠的錢』。沒讓他看見,我塞了一些錢到他的錢包中,我們開始數錢。買娃娃的錢足 了,甚之還有剩餘呢。# g; g) ~) S* ^6 f7 ?

The little boy said: ' Thank you God for giving me enough money! ', n2 B, N9 ~, U+ M: ?0 a" Z3 B
小男孩說:『謝謝上帝給了我足 的錢!』
& N. C8 V' ^& q3 F % f! }* v6 i2 a# v$ R. \6 S3 z9 Q
Then he looked at me and added, ' I asked last night before I went to sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll, so that mommy could give it to my sister. He heard me! ' '0 s6 R$ y4 y" a" l# K1 k; J/ R' r

A few minutes later, the old lady returned and I left with my basket.* V) F& |) h4 n7 W' ^0 g2 E

I finished my shopping in a totally different state of mind from when I started.

9 K: K4 Z: h& |$ a7 g/ tI couldn ' t get the little boy out of my mind.. v. y" K; u( u, M! g6 m9 B8 b- U
小男孩一直無法離開我的心境。

3 J+ ]* V7 i" q6 k  h: DThen I remembered a local news paper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck, who hit a car occupied by a young* _( d( ~/ g( [3 q  q: p
woman and a little girl.) k5 `1 r4 P2 E+ J0 w' Y' G) S! ]
我想起兩天前當地報紙的一篇文章,提及一位醉酒卡車司機,撞上了一輛載著年輕少婦和一個小女孩的汽車。$ u: F; R8 y( Z" a( ^& H6 X* T

$ F6 V( v8 l2 }" ~8 {  ~The little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical& f2 w4 ]8 q4 _
state. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the% K3 x2 x' `6 t/ o2 q, b
life-sustaining machine, because the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma.; h6 F6 C  L* s0 |" R* s
小女孩當場死亡,母親呈現彌留狀態。 這個家庭必須決定是否要拔出維持生命機器的插管

' y2 m5 h, u' S3 j' oTwo days after this encounter with the little boy, I read in the news paper that the young woman had passed away.) M% Q+ M7 T; Q5 n
碰到小男孩的二天之後,我看了報紙年輕少婦過世了。
% M) ]8 Z! B5 ^* E( ^$ o
8 h6 a& f% z3 X. y+ h" h! FI couldn ' t stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and I went to the funeral home where the body of the young woman was for people to see and make last wishes before her burial.
/ Y; z" @" `5 F2 a2 D3 h我不自主的買了一束白玫瑰,來到喪家,年輕少婦的遺體在她埋葬前讓人瞻仰與最後許願。
; C8 q! I- \: }* Z. G/ u% t1 ]0 q- @0 e# R+ W) x% O
She was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest.
# ^2 j) X# L$ ]4 ]6 U! K% L她在那裡,裝在棺木中,在她的手中握著一朵白玫瑰和小男孩的相片,娃娃則放置在她的胸口。

I left the place, teary-eyed, feeling that my life had been changed for ever.. The love that the little boy had for his mother and his sister is

对自己负责。对别人负责,对社会负责,请勿酒后驾车。因为这个小男孩有可能成为你家的孩子。
