動人心弦的小男孩 (Little Boy Touches Hearts)

I was walking around in a Target store, when I saw a Cashier hand this little boy some money back.
5 z. G: c( U9 e' d& A2 o( J5 `我在「塔杰」商店閒逛時,看到收銀員將一些錢退還給小男孩。9 Y2 P  P6 ?" F7 L& B0 P; @6 w# g. K

- w  }4 W$ `2 M8 IThe boy couldn ' t have been more than 5 or 6 years old.( _1 p/ ]0 `  B  z( `1 |1 ~6 p& [
- [  B& A8 R$ x" X8 O- C9 o
這男孩不過5、6歲。6 A' ?& n, r* U; s* `& v

The Cashier said, ' I ' m sorry, but you don ' t have enough money to buy this doll. '
0 n* b5 _1 b: J, Z7 f! ^( a收銀員說:『抱歉!你買這娃娃的錢不夠。』
! B# z% C5 ?/ ?4 P  A ) E" p2 M1 b- \+ k
Then the little boy turned to the old woman next to him: ' ' Granny,
" o: `$ a6 V" ?, C4 q2 qare you sure I don ' t have enough money? ' '
: u  ?& Q+ J5 i3 Q0 W5 w& ]7 b* c: j小男孩轉向他旁邊的老婦人:

「奶奶!妳也認為我的錢不 嗎?」

The old lady replied: ' ' You know that you don ' t have enough money to buy this doll, my dear. ' '
& s3 e  u. D) i; [老婦人回道:「親愛的!你知道買這個娃娃的錢是不夠的。」

5 }( H% F& ^0 B: \Then she asked him to stay there for just 5 minutes while she went to look around. She left quickly.# J8 Z" {6 v  j- Y' L$ k2 V( _

I replied to him that maybe Santa Claus would bring it to her after all, and not to worry.

9 W+ Q, F8 N& t; l5 M) [But he replied to me sadly. ' No, Santa Claus can ' t bring it to her where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mommy so that she can give it to my sister when she goes there. '

; M- F% M( t* H! p. z7 J5 u0 JThe little boy looked up at me and said: ' I told daddy to tell mommy not to go yet. I need her to wait until I come back from the mall. '

Then he showed me a very nice photo of himself. He was laughing. He then told me ' I want mommy to take my picture with her so she won ' t forget me. '

Then he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly.' v0 j* ]" v4 V$ o2 C

& ^( q7 }  G2 @' z7 r'OK ' he said, ' I hope I do have enough. ' I added some of my money to his without him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll and even some spare money.# V& i" k, M1 N  G; {, |- r$ A
『好呀!』他說『我希望有足夠的錢』。沒讓他看見,我塞了一些錢到他的錢包中,我們開始數錢。買娃娃的錢足 了,甚之還有剩餘呢。- \6 j: Z3 l5 S2 C& A! b

9 J8 z& }3 D5 ?, O5 Y& [The little boy said: ' Thank you God for giving me enough money! '

* Q" t  Y3 K0 z% k7 i5 h
Then he looked at me and added, ' I asked last night before I went to sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll, so that mommy could give it to my sister. He heard me! ' '

A few minutes later, the old lady returned and I left with my basket.1 p3 D. G  K3 D9 c) J

I couldn ' t get the little boy out of my mind.1 K1 b" B' H7 p

Then I remembered a local news paper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck, who hit a car occupied by a young

我想起兩天前當地報紙的一篇文章,提及一位醉酒卡車司機,撞上了一輛載著年輕少婦和一個小女孩的汽車。

state. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the1 [0 k- `' {. k2 u" j& B
life-sustaining machine, because the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma.

7 P# u7 a* L; w8 p8 e: FTwo days after this encounter with the little boy, I read in the news paper that the young woman had passed away.

I couldn ' t stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and I went to the funeral home where the body of the young woman was for people to see and make last wishes before her burial.
! r7 K: `$ s+ N我不自主的買了一束白玫瑰,來到喪家,年輕少婦的遺體在她埋葬前讓人瞻仰與最後許願。  X8 N; t7 f& U9 }9 h- N

/ _9 y$ h* x3 w# o! S! r2 j7 _She was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest.: K2 |. ^2 ^$ `- _. T/ a( M
