Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

4 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Staff

Key Responsibilities Include:
8 V. A) M6 K Q6 r2 BActivity Planning and Daily Activity/ y/ h' S( u4 {5 b w
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.9 y4 O7 W1 i4 g4 }
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
' s) h3 F `6 G0 z; i5 x• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
' _0 X( E L4 S• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.6 Y* [% v1 }3 w/ n
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
; k% e8 Y. c* K) a7 Q• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.3 N" k0 D, w& r" l: i8 v8 W+ `

The successful candidate will have:1 J% t) _; Z& U+ H; X* F7 n
• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
0 r+ i$ \5 H" ]) n* r% e( Q• Experience with children
1 k6 r( _( M+ @, I" t: p' R. |• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth 2 q& S6 W3 v. b$ a6 v9 T7 a) S
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.3 n$ Y i& V' Z* J8 @0 b
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.1 ~8 t9 {/ |) t6 L2 T0 c
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources2 A7 U1 w) V' O9 f8 {0 U$ z
• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
# H+ f7 m1 V) y' ~; q% S: B) z1 U• Documentation of a clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check 1 y C8 L# a% i
% K6 l" M p) f" x8 g+ U* D
In addition to an excellent work environment, The Africa Centre & Big Brothers Big Sisters offer an hourly salary of $15-hour .
