Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff. 0 S( w+ `! h5 h

Activity Planning and Daily Activity
2 z) T& A! E$ J/ R- M• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
% \: Q. r+ X2 d" Z# P• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
+ H' G' c2 C8 O5 Y& R% Q2 I• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, ! n2 n2 s7 K; ~2 s, Z
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
B7 A# Q' D, u* \+ V9 ?! {- k• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
| F: ~' F" I% ~• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

The successful candidate will have:0 A' Z t% W1 E( ]! V
• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting$ [1 S# J, W# P) ~
• Experience with children ^6 T, n! I* \ D, j$ s
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
O/ V( W$ m) A- |• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.. x% S3 F& I9 F1 d# F( _* ^
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.8 E( l0 v- [ r* B; C& E( Q+ B
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources* m+ J3 r5 ]7 J. H0 c
• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
5 I8 M$ V/ h9 U• Documentation of a clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check " }% S; c) h7 M, D! G+ t! b& c
