Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

Key Responsibilities Include: H/ A3 { O. t: r8 D4 {$ Y
Activity Planning and Daily Activity
/ }8 i A9 g- {0 F3 P• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.- h0 t0 l/ X9 T* h1 a9 B* X
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
5 ~, k4 s/ b% A) J. s } E: a( k% I• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, 4 f9 ]0 H! P+ u$ |) W/ K" n' t
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
# [8 V& U4 [ l$ V m' U4 k+ u. f• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
+ S6 j+ Y' l3 P8 s3 H• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

The successful candidate will have:
) f: ]) I) [6 [5 V' h. E3 m& ]% Y• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
3 F4 e9 H* w2 W6 `. |, E6 r9 S' t• Experience with children
8 Z' Y; Z& Z x" F) N% z• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth & K8 t" y" ^$ C4 H/ [. Y2 {$ R
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
. _# O# q4 B/ z" c3 r; _* U• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
g a! y# W7 h• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources, }, U/ Y* I5 z/ I$ {
• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check : `( r3 U3 o. o3 ^( ?* e
• Documentation of a clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
