Position: Independent Living Support Worker / Terms: Part time (20 hrs. week) Location: Edmonton / Salary: based on education & experience / Closing Date: open until a suitable candidate is found.

, p& A7 Q1 U/ ~; Z8 bAbstract: position offers both crisis/on-going support for individuals/couples with chronic or complex mental health issues + those who face multiple barriers to independent living to enhance their ability to live successfully within their community by reducing barriers involved in meeting their economic, social and personal needs.

9 ^8 m& j$ I0 _9 x, gPosition is also responsible for providing crisis intervention, intensive outreach support, advocacy, information and referrals to internal and external resources as appropriate.

4 ^' h& C  X* D  r) PEducation/Experience: Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Social Work, Rehabilitation Services or equivalent + relevant experience; familiarity with issues of poverty/homelessness; AB Class 5 license, satisfactory drivers abstract and own vehicle.

& M! ~/ P* M2 ~Skills & Abilities: Strong written/verbal communication skills; effective assessment skills and ability to work from a strength-based perspective; ability to develop goal plans with the program participant; ability to establish rapport and trust with the program participants; strong problem solving skills and an ability to flexibly manage multiple tasks.

9 n( A3 h  e  V' D6 b) ePLUS: Knowledgeable about community resources; ability to be self-directed and work well within a team; ability to develop productive working relationships with program partners & other community agencies; ability to develop service plans with program participants and provide follow-up to support them in the achievement of their goals.
