% k" b" A$ \2 n; S3 j* ?The Easton Public Schools believes that mastering basic computer applications and developing an appreciation and understanding of new technologies are fundamental prerequisites for life in the “Information Age”.  These experiences should, therefore, be an integral part of the K-12 curriculum.  Word processing, computer generated graphics, and telecommunications should be integrated across the curriculum wherever possible.  Students need to master technology tools and apply them in meaningful ways in all aspects of the curriculum.

  ^1 y9 J9 Z8 X8 Y/ O5 i2 ZPrograms which invoke inquiry, engage and challenge young minds, and build reasoning skills are essential elements in the use of technology.  Students should have access to software which promotes these higher level thinking skills as they learn the basic skills and /or the advanced applications necessary to achieve computer proficiency.

C2 ?3 m$ T) ~The Easton Public Schools will create and support an environment in which teachers and students use technology.  Through this medium students will explore and express personal interests and knowledge to obtain and process information.  The ultimate goal is to provide students with the skills necessary to communicate in a  global society.

Student Use of the Internet
$ E9 \2 \8 u: C  _5 t1 ^( v
Access to the Easton Public Schools’ Internet Service is a privilege, not a right.  The internet is to be used for educational purposes only.  Students nay not use the internet to access personal e-mail or for instant messaging.


Easton Public Schools reserves the right to deny, revoke or suspend specific user privileges and/or to take other disciplinary action, up to and including suspension or expulsion, for violations of the policy.   The District will advise appropriate law enforcement agencies of suspected illegal activities conducted through the Easton Public Schools Internet Service.  The district will also cooperate fully with local, state, and/or federal officials in any investigation related to any suspected illegal activities conducted through the service.
