' C3 ~$ W" z+ t5 v/ ?' hIntegrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
) p) F, T, n- {8 k7 {$ Z4 Lskills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded
! y! B5 S) A9 p1 P7 ], O9 C0 nprogram combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work
0 g- A0 v- w5 U2 t+ qexperience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as
8 O5 E! Q5 Y/ d6 v( Zwarehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food
services and others.
( e# k+ f2 b+ {( v; l
Candidate Profile:

Candidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian
' X7 ^: ~4 t3 w1 r2 C3 hcitizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:
9 k8 J! q: l' J- w*        English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB
*        Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post-
+ b7 H  W0 b: {0 \! o# ^4 Bsecondary education
*        A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand
occupation
*        Availability to study fulltime for 5 months and then be employed
*        Willingness to commit to a program and future job
*        Resided in Alberta for the past 3 months

Program Description:

                        *        4 months classroom-based instruction and
field trips
        *        Improve your English while learning about a variety of
( q. E$ |$ w" n, }, Ihigh-demand occupations
- P; ~4 ~& a' U, Z; ^        *        Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Internet, etc.)
        *        Write a winning resume and improve interview skills
        *        Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates
8 x; A9 G  P" @& K) O6 b        *        Take advantage of one-on-one employment counseling
                        *        1 month work-experience placement

Class Schedule and Location:

        *        September 12, 2005 to January 31, 2006
        *        Monday to Friday
        *        9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (tentative)
