6 {/ F3 j  p' X! l8 B% F* T) jIntegrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
& [  W2 D4 y2 R# z: Fskills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded
- H8 H* q$ C! x$ g/ e" r* N  Bprogram combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work
. u6 X0 m* W$ L% @* p! @7 Mexperience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as
warehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food
: P) j3 w/ o# I2 yservices and others.

Candidate Profile:
% e$ K6 ?: x+ X) T5 G) j
Candidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian
+ ^( X3 B* ?8 _) w5 rcitizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:
; n9 k8 }4 K' y6 ^% P0 P*        English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB
7 x' \- t3 ^3 X: F3 I; V) f*        Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post-
0 M# [0 I4 t( l6 x$ gsecondary education
*        A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand
8 ?; Q$ v7 T& U5 z2 X9 e( j2 p2 Voccupation
*        Availability to study fulltime for 5 months and then be employed
5 Y5 b6 d) |; O9 W*        Willingness to commit to a program and future job
*        Resided in Alberta for the past 3 months

Program Description:

. r- P# a- F! ]; W6 M. w* V4 X                        *        4 months classroom-based instruction and
0 [/ _' `! {# p) n: B! Efield trips
        *        Improve your English while learning about a variety of
high-demand occupations
9 K; C& a& J  ^7 v        *        Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
& L. ~9 a9 J, h8 s6 nInternet, etc.)
        *        Write a winning resume and improve interview skills
! g" t- ^5 P, |        *        Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates
        *        Take advantage of one-on-one employment counseling
                        *        1 month work-experience placement

Class Schedule and Location:

        *        September 12, 2005 to January 31, 2006
        *        Monday to Friday
        *        9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (tentative)
        *        All classes are held at The Path to Employment, 10211 - 97
Street, Edmonton

Funding:
