Program Overview:

( C+ p4 W; p, ]+ _( @; XIntegrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
. K* |0 h) r( a) b( h9 n- Xskills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded; j* H3 a) l# K
program combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work$ B: f5 g2 U9 H4 v' R1 a( F- S+ F
experience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as
7 o8 `# t; j$ e) X/ J. Kwarehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food
3 ?% z4 |' q! b% \5 B- a) Xservices and others.6 V2 A$ C" C" s2 y. `

Candidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian
" _5 M9 o: _- A- |6 |" h: Tcitizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:) R4 o/ R# b. V) I! Q
* English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB* @/ v t& {+ ^/ a/ F, q
* Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post-# Z% }3 H0 |, Y1 k$ p
secondary education4 l5 m1 F/ A/ ^- b% S* }
* A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand. g/ ]- C c: [7 U9 U
occupation; n% u8 u+ b6 T. l9 {
* Availability to study fulltime for 5 months and then be employed4 P$ i7 K) w5 o6 M0 ?# B
* Willingness to commit to a program and future job& s" v; ^6 W% n7 k+ V8 w, g
* Resided in Alberta for the past 3 months. f6 ?) P" `% x* x& {2 _- F( ]0 A9 X

* Improve your English while learning about a variety of

* Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
( w9 u! \6 I; [. j* I; SInternet, etc.). G6 A, X$ g( v. E' ^' J6 e" n: t K
* Write a winning resume and improve interview skills' T9 q; y7 T5 A$ f9 \# A2 ~' g q0 \
* Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates
