Program Overview:

Integrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
/ @! I# x( D' Pskills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded
program combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work
experience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as
warehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food
: _8 P6 `" X. E* sservices and others.

3 p7 J4 }" ~8 r1 xCandidate Profile:
) ?" z  F' R( S! y1 p6 K, P* J  s; Z
Candidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian
* t1 l7 p6 h3 R( o1 O4 E# ncitizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:
*        English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB
*        Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post-
secondary education
*        A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand
occupation
6 p0 i, b+ c* m! Q* B2 Z) o*        Availability to study fulltime for 5 months and then be employed
/ u8 a& s8 H( a9 l*        Willingness to commit to a program and future job
*        Resided in Alberta for the past 3 months

Program Description:

                        *        4 months classroom-based instruction and
% p: ?& k6 ^6 S7 v2 Ufield trips
        *        Improve your English while learning about a variety of
/ G) N  M/ D( {7 o: rhigh-demand occupations
; s, [$ p0 L2 G0 M        *        Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Internet, etc.)
        *        Write a winning resume and improve interview skills
/ G$ r2 P8 V+ w$ S/ D3 `2 `# W. [        *        Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates
        *        Take advantage of one-on-one employment counseling
0 S4 j& w. H6 R( K  X# C) V9 V, {                        *        1 month work-experience placement

Class Schedule and Location:

        *        Monday to Friday
