* Provides technical support and husbandry of the Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometer (TIMS) Laboratory
6 Q: t1 r8 N" [* s4 S; O( f: Y, U * Performs isotopic analyses on a broad spectrum of chemical elements, including Pb, Os, Nd, Sr
* y0 t- ~# p% c- } * Completes routine maintenance on the TIMS and auxiliary equipment, such as vacuum pumps Q% `% N% P! U$ y. }4 l3 q
* Performs data compilation, analysis and data reduction calculations
* `$ v; k: v. o5 \4 S6 Z% V * Trains users on the mass spectrometer and reduction calculations! g3 Q* y* O5 p" l

Qualifications
( k& l* H( O* I! T: q, d2 @' n9 {% ^8 P( B4 `, @5 n Y
* Technical diploma in Physical Sciences, preferably Geological Sciences or equivalent; BSc in Geology or Chemistry is preferred. i/ B: R& ]' ~1 i B8 X* @5 H0 c5 l
* Specialized training on thermal ionization mass spectrometers, geochemical analyses, and instrumentation& n- K0 P% b" _* L
* Experience in an established research laboratory with demonstrated knowledge of lab safety regulations and procedures including general lab hygiene and specific safety protocols for thermal ionization mass spectrometers
# Y6 L1 p2 A; w0 U# Y. G * WHMIS training
7 A6 Y: C4 g* x5 V- f/ y * Computer competency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and programming experience would be an asset
