SPECIAL EVENTS/VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR

Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to:

- S: I5 L% W; e1 dDuties:  Special Events  
! N" w4 D' p4 x( D; a  T7 gPlan, implement and evaluate Special Events: * m: |1 C* {0 _3 G1 }
·  Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
! T+ {% n5 Y$ c2 o7 c4 _2 C·  Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist 4 R! s/ \/ U; y  p. `
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
. A1 d% l; @) N+ K# C  badvertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
0 J6 X4 s  _5 f5 k0 h; e6 rset-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.   , A1 X  j/ V# }
·  Attend and manage Special Events  6 [: n0 f" G, z. E
·  Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee

( \. ~. I7 z& U6 P, e) n6 RDuties: Volunteer Coordination
6 R2 t% f0 z4 a8 C5 X" rAssist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: ( A7 ^% u+ l' K
·  Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions
: Y* ^0 b0 Y8 i2 \. }( W( [·  Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
' W. O) Y8 _% f$ H$ u' u·  Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
2 E! N2 Y' p8 B7 f2 ^·  Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers  
% b" W0 N( U: J·  Complete program administration, statistics and records ! j. L/ h. W/ Z- y
$ p* F+ _+ D: ?) C: j2 s  I
Qualifications: 0 |! Y: h- p% {
·  Completion of 12th+ D+ l& j: D% c' T  r9 u$ Z, X/ B
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
+ ^7 V2 q8 j- g+ M) v" Y- W+ I8 iAdministration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. : ~8 n! |, g/ A7 [* ~# q
·  At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct 2 y# G# Y- z. ~, Z/ Y
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
+ k0 F. O/ r7 E2 @7 l·  Experience working with and managing volunteers
$ }( f& e" e( W/ P, W·  Specialized skills and training in working with seniors  
( [* s3 V  T0 d7 i- Y·  Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events 9 n- h/ Z0 s9 T6 G3 f& H
·  Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training
" G  J% ^( @, i$ M; Z·  Security Clearance ) v) r. J9 E/ W  F- e  s  q; s

( w4 j0 `7 q3 ?4 E5 hHours:   Flexible – some evening and weekend work " }5 n" j# b! H

Wages:  $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications
