1 E% i  d/ V: Z7 wUnder the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special
% Q0 S0 a* i  q3 V6 LEvents and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to:
7 C* }) `2 z* q8 f+ ~0 D, h 0 i  x: Y, I  R% Q, r) z$ w; P
Duties:  Special Events  ! D- H0 @: A  k1 ~
Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
# _  f1 \% e/ f' Y- s- s/ h·  Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee 4 g( |- Y, b4 B; D
·  Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
: I: [7 A, R- r4 `( s  j7 Owith decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
6 g8 }6 L1 R/ {advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
( \, |& h5 h. c" \/ Zset-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.   
8 j8 y' {: }5 i& v) [! Q8 k/ \·  Attend and manage Special Events  
' ~. B* f  B7 ?6 K1 E! J! W: b·  Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee

Duties: Volunteer Coordination
$ v2 h% q" _! KAssist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
* ^/ a. C: y  }0 F% Z·  Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions " y0 R' Q, o! u- F% }
·  Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers 9 K+ \- x6 b2 u; {# b8 r, j
·  Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers % U  F; ~* K0 l% d
·  Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers  
" y: K3 F$ d" `' }+ A1 m# C·  Complete program administration, statistics and records * i2 D5 x9 \7 Y# @8 `

8 q5 F# \$ g% V, J7 v+ jQualifications: : o; g5 _6 T4 q% K6 x
·  Completion of 12th
+ F: h4 s+ F' Q  f7 }! G% w1 C Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation ! L6 w: T$ N$ X$ h- P& b) B; _3 z7 a5 u
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
9 E1 c- y. Q) ]% p& q·  At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct % D  L! N" k7 J1 n, z) h2 V
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events 7 `0 A% F+ o. O0 [
·  Experience working with and managing volunteers
7 S4 N6 N5 [! Z- J: u·  Specialized skills and training in working with seniors  6 c; a: C2 W; t6 L( x8 y# r
·  Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events ( ^/ {4 s  t7 o' q6 v6 \% s- B' K- R
·  Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training * t5 a$ ~- Y3 D% W/ {: {( t
·  Security Clearance 2 D( p  P: |8 d! F

* X& ?( g7 s/ [( E' A# h. k6 @Hours:   Flexible – some evening and weekend work

Wages:  $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications
