Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special / p- @7 \% ^' }& c# m
Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to: 5 b9 f( a! B6 a2 T

Duties: Special Events
- V4 V! f% B/ UPlan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
% C% E* Z$ S) C* U7 x· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee 4 U! W( s* l r9 o2 ]3 ~% X0 H) X
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
* l. T+ f' a) i% }8 q3 Twith decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
$ {' i' C$ j4 m) F6 u4 j6 e% padvertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure 1 I6 I( n9 @$ t: ~5 m$ ~% C3 L8 l
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.

· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee

Duties: Volunteer Coordination 0 j8 ^( v7 x+ S3 y" r
Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
' `5 R$ X( q$ b" t· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions
1 n! k' F0 J# F2 E· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers . o2 ]# J6 N! B6 u# w
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
, n/ t) Q$ F' M9 F, t* B' U· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers
) {& U. p* Q) i2 [0 v0 X· Complete program administration, statistics and records , P1 o5 L' t. E1 c% `6 b I
5 j) ~$ G9 J q3 {/ Y, g# iQualifications: 7 h4 b' i: y6 m+ y: E
· Completion of 12th
' K3 v( A: `' d$ a6 s- g5 k+ J- _ Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation + i+ z+ O- B& S C
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. 9 D% K! K! _4 V8 D' V
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
" ]* d% W: V( V7 Q0 }experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events ) m# L c" R. f/ L1 `
· Experience working with and managing volunteers , D, C: E: C6 _
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors & G7 K& e2 a7 g* H- q% c, i
· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events $ {: o: h- z2 b# Z, L/ w
· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work
