Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special

Duties: Special Events ; V+ v9 c0 j* }
Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events: * a; h9 K+ }3 q# q G- q
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
3 H+ P. X `% _$ l4 q· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
r6 ] |8 Z+ f l& {5 E- v9 Lwith decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the $ R( Y7 j* U; c7 w7 y R5 s
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
! S+ Q: _/ v) vset-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.

· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee

Duties: Volunteer Coordination 3 m( C5 Y$ D5 p) C. t. M* N
Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
! s8 M; b; x1 q/ t h· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions - e. h7 j+ [' A. D+ f
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers " p- _0 A" M6 l
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
& o0 m1 l. s9 v7 I· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers
T( Z) }( F7 t( u# M! h5 e· Complete program administration, statistics and records

+ T ~9 i8 y. Q* Y0 m. RQualifications:
+ e0 {+ ~7 b4 k) o· Completion of 12th
! f8 b* q8 j, e2 W) V9 f Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
" q! w6 c! m: p3 I3 E% w- s8 sAdministration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
7 v: o; N$ R# @ @· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
* e4 H. K) t! E( L% p. ]% Wexperience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
$ ~' @6 n! C; K! h- V! s· Experience working with and managing volunteers
' W5 t4 n- b, j6 s2 y$ [, c· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
8 U2 z4 H5 l2 T( R7 E; o, t· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events
, ~; H! N* n: S6 i· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work

Wages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications
