Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to:

· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
! T+ {% n5 Y$ c2 o7 c4 _2 C· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist 4 R! s/ \/ U; y p. `
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
. A1 d% l; @) N+ K# C badvertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
0 J6 X4 s _5 f5 k0 h; e6 rset-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. , A1 X j/ V# }

· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee

· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions

' W. O) Y8 _% f$ H$ u' u· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers

· Completion of 12th+ D+ l& j: D% c' T r9 u$ Z, X/ B
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
+ ^7 V2 q8 j- g+ M) v" Y- W+ I8 iAdministration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. : ~8 n! |, g/ A7 [* ~# q
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct 2 y# G# Y- z. ~, Z/ Y
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
+ k0 F. O/ r7 E2 @7 l· Experience working with and managing volunteers
$ }( f& e" e( W/ P, W· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
( [* s3 V T0 d7 i- Y· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events 9 n- h/ Z0 s9 T6 G3 f& H
· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training

Wages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications
