D2 YChange for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.

CHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.

! A. R3 R9 O: `! h• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.

• Complete data entry in various programs.$ [! ?( A3 g6 |" ~0 r- ~- G" t4 J

  N$ T% R& ~) i% l0 u8 i# |• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.

• Support effective internal communication by recording and distributing all meeting minutes.% e( g1 {( Z9 e" Z, Y* r! J

8 H7 U4 F' Y! S+ I0 Q; f• Manage all CFCA administrative communications such as liaising with financial institutions, service providers etc. related to administrative management.

• Manage mail outs for fund development or education purposes with support of Program Managers.+ h0 O* ?, p, q' ?4 F5 ~2 v8 |

• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.

; j. i7 C# B; t( W• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA.

• Support management of online publicity and communication tools.  K& F, R+ H: H( {; p

4 [4 S6 L, o0 Z$ |5 [0 t' T" Q* f) s• Support the promotion of CFCA events in Alberta through online and print publicity resources.

• Support the management of requests for CFCA information and resources at public events.

• Compile information packages for fundraising and promotional purposes.: m7 \- ]: X& a

• Provide administrative support for public engagement events and mail outs.+ H/ R3 `' u) D7 h& f* ~' u. i8 o

• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.( U  l$ z7 m; G! }: M

• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions$ M6 r* U  a; ^& S$ S: L8 w4 F
& r! k8 J5 E6 N& e! Y& ~
• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.- H; I: d. \2 h7 E0 l

6 j+ |" ~& K( |5 z: x* Z2 q5 B! H• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.

• Support logistical work required for CFCA’s Annual General Meeting

9 a, b. |( n0 F* S! W8 `, cSkills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.2 g! b* C9 q4 t4 |: p3 s; d
