This fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.
. N G+ M' ?/ p* @0 ZEligibility Criteria. \4 K6 `! M" V M% y+ u. W) |1 d; l q
All potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:
* ?! C/ g0 o, Z. y2 ^" d9 Q' `0 |6 B: u•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less6 U- C! [, q7 U K% @
•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education
/ T) e x; A. n% _3 c•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English
; R% u X# a7 H6 g" x•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada * |3 d8 G% z- w+ `( p" c; I
•No prior Canadian work experience in their field
3 K g& g; F5 O) H8 b•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less- T6 }, B5 C* t5 A- R
•Be eligible to work in Canada

Time Commitment0 @/ z0 d7 D- n5 U
The maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months. This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week.0 E% y' @: N* l" x2 G
