THE EDMONTON REGION IMMIGRANT COUNCIL WOULD LIKE TO INVITE YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 24/4 MENTORSHIP PILOT PROGRAM:7 e" Q& Y+ k+ P! v" Q# V
24 HOURS OVER 4 MONTHS' S4 J# c. N" G2 P! J' i
This fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.
: ]3 |. S% Q; XEligibility Criteria
& |9 H% w/ c% L! K8 ?+ Y# k0 sAll potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:' T2 ^' n. U+ y, O
•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less- L( b) {: _5 _) P0 F
•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education
* l0 y- ^: b) W) a8 Q) }•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English
& T* P( p; Y `& W•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada
, s+ ^ ~" I* m, I- T8 n* l; W. P' `•No prior Canadian work experience in their field
, c6 z2 m. m7 h6 R•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less
3 [' M& R5 Y2 w5 _2 B4 i•Be eligible to work in Canada

•Lack access to professional networks9 s$ f: S9 P* A/ K3 ]
•Be motivated to participate and be open to learning
+ F3 P% F: k3 m0 U% RTime Commitment) A" u% d) c- W2 E( N& y
The maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months. This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week./ g& k" p4 a' ]2 {$ O/ `1 G
