THE EDMONTON REGION IMMIGRANT COUNCIL WOULD LIKE TO INVITE YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 24/4 MENTORSHIP PILOT PROGRAM:
24 HOURS OVER 4 MONTHS
3 l. v3 x* E& mThis fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.
+ _+ a% b( U7 bEligibility Criteria
( F( x/ T8 D/ M" `$ y* V9 q+ JAll potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:
, w( y5 b  J4 G5 V: I4 N•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less
•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education
( x4 y9 \! i7 G$ L/ V6 \9 d3 P' `•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English
•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada
! z0 S( w/ R, R3 L& x+ G•No prior Canadian work experience in their field
•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less
  ?$ b: n5 ]  m6 _/ ^0 u5 V2 |' y•Be eligible to work in Canada
•Have a job ready resume and have completed a job search workshop
•Lack access to professional networks
$ X$ ]+ |, u( o& v* b' v3 K•Be motivated to participate and be open to learning
Time Commitment
The maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months.  This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week.
