Field Operator - Balzac

Position Overview  
The Field Operator is responsible for monitoring production in field locations surrounding the Balzac Gas Plant facility (10 minutes north of the Calgary city limits; 30 km from the downtown core). This position works a 35 day shift rotation, which includes 12 hour days/nights and 9 hour training days. This role is bound by the terms of the Collective Agreement (Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Local 773).
Job Duties/Responsibilities  
% ]0 \' L1 U. g# G -  Display competency with operations procedures checklists and critical procedures;
7 q/ _7 A) ^/ e6 |-  Provide day to day control of producing wells, pipelines and associated production equipment;
6 v. W; y  `* b: A5 F. ?. f-  Make and carry out recommendations to maximize production, minimize operating costs and eliminate downtime;
0 I/ O7 r+ i; d-  Ensure all field related activities are completed safely, on schedule and in an environmentally safe and cost effective manner;
-  Comply with all EH&S, Corporate and Regulatory rules and procedures. Report any unacceptable conditions and incidents;
* P, z& _! g- c-  Work in a team-oriented atmosphere and contribute to the ongoing success of the Balzac Complex;

Education/Experience  
1 n" c/ U8 W  U# X3 c) A - Grade 12 diploma or equivalent in training and experience;
$ n. z/ O1 j& i6 g" ^-  Minimum of 3 years' related experience operating sour gas wells, pipelines and compressors;
-  Current H2S Alive certification or equivalent;
: T" K2 ?8 v8 k2 |# }) |" n-  Dependable, organized and self motivated;
! G- t; I8 L5 ~' {7 g* a* s-  Strong initiative and problem solving skills;
7 l* \/ f0 E) g3 Y' X4 @5 `-  A willingness and ability to work in outdoor conditions.
