(i.e., a doctor's note) is not required for student absences due to

influenza virus is contagious and is spread person to person via close
4 R/ O3 a; x" J. i' L- b7 j5 xcontact. The virus also rests on hard surfaces such as counters and
% p! [/ z/ j9 v# Z& H% p' r& Jdoorknobs and can spread when people touch contaminated surfaces and& Y% H3 F: g! `
then unknowingly transfer the virus to their eyes, nose or mouth.2 L7 [; h' l- T1 E! i
Practicing good preventive hygiene (e.g., wash your hands and cover your
- O( Y7 v p' `+ I4 @0 P8 w9 rcough) and following the self-care practices as outlined by Alberta& F; M8 G; K9 Y" ?
Health and Wellness will greatly assist in minimizing the chance of
e1 ~6 w% |) z6 p% Yinfection.
