To qualify for an Alberta Qualification Certificate based on work experience, a person must:

2 |2 s( Q- t* ?% P- G. Qhave at least 8,775 hours and 72 months of ‘hands-on’ work experience as an electrician
# u8 U. s$ c3 b. v5 n9 F eTime spent on supervisory or foreman duties, counter work, heading the tool crib, or on a training course is NOT counted as ‘hands-on’ work experience.

complete the Qualification Certificate - Work Experience Application and submit it to an Apprenticeship and Industry Training Office$ M; C1 c2 i+ J0 E! K7 i7 a7 q

pay the non-refundable fees as identified on the application noted above $ c/ D0 u9 p; v; I7 K% @8 I3 V' c7 w
This application fee covers the verification and assessment of the applicant's work experience hours/months as well as one attempt at the Qualification Certificate theory examination. The Qualification Certificate practical examination requires a separate fee as identified on the application noted above.
