To qualify for an Alberta Qualification Certificate based on work experience, a person must:- b3 T; x& P& I4 i9 \- v' K$ K
, A( h7 [8 `; phave at least 8,775 hours and 72 months of ‘hands-on’ work experience as an electrician
/ A+ ^/ A' A' ]5 HTime spent on supervisory or foreman duties, counter work, heading the tool crib, or on a training course is NOT counted as ‘hands-on’ work experience.! T; M7 Y8 }, i7 j7 A8 T( e
; d- z$ P% l9 }# @. b0 O
complete the Qualification Certificate - Work Experience Application and submit it to an Apprenticeship and Industry Training Office

6 ~" c2 \$ h3 V& F7 _4 ~This application fee covers the verification and assessment of the applicant's work experience hours/months as well as one attempt at the Qualification Certificate theory examination. The Qualification Certificate practical examination requires a separate fee as identified on the application noted above.
