Responsibilities:3 ]" [/ w4 s: E# m: [( G) q
- Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth/ H* T. I! h8 s7 C' m2 P' f/ v" E
- Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling" n$ w1 h6 Y |: @) G k' B, b
- Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
! T- T7 l1 {- t$ b; y# ~5 _- Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs
. [& i, Q9 f8 B. M/ j- Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health

Key Qualifications:
) O" i4 R3 I7 `5 b/ n- Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences, t; g; l5 L# g+ c; g4 x1 Q
- At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
: {2 V1 y6 I! u. n- Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others7 y: p! Z8 k7 j4 Q
- Experience doing program development
: {3 G$ q# _' S! x$ Z- Strong organizational and coordination skills
. J7 A& W4 ~% b5 @1 e- e8 K$ Z+ C- Self-directed and able to take initiative
4 y% S5 W; @# S- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset" G/ l( R4 D, L4 ], v( S
- Vehicle and valid drivers’ license K) J% j8 |" p# t* Z9 k" b

- Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation+ k# V( V! Y4 Q) u+ O7 @ E
- Knowledge of and experience working with immigrant and refugee communities9 R! _ g3 O) I/ v0 s% p" J! L
- An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health
# t, m) y( x2 K$ t- Skills in marketing & promotions+ j6 u+ s3 {9 }$ j/ f+ Z
- Some evening and weekend work may be required% w2 b0 r& S8 N7 A: K4 ~9 G, u
