! s9 J1 ~) X9 |; p8 Z* A7 lAssists in the planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents of the Extended Care Centre in collaboration with the Activation Manager.
Works co-operatively with the Activation Manager, facility volunteers, families and other staff members.
( O' F/ p* |9 k4 y, V3 e3 {/ tMaintains appropriate resident and department records including assessments, evaluations of planned programs detailing anticipated individual participation.
0 H' N6 t0 j' m$ V: Q4 RMaintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers and staff of other departments.
5 P& @4 M) ^8 n3 I  a. ]" BIs knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles and endeavors to promote it.
Participates in team conferences to plan, develop and assess individual resident care plans.
Qualifications
4 N1 o3 Q1 ]6 Y5 h& _Must have a community college recreation certificate or diploma or equivalent, as approved by the Activation Manager. Experience working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting.
8 t# d) b0 w% |& N' i0 I! zMust be able to communicate in written and verbal form and maintain an acceptable standard of behaviour and appearance.
Computer skills an asset.
, M5 v4 |$ p# s  i1 Q/ [An energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and who possess excellent problem solving, planning and creative abilities.
Proficiency in a second language is an asset.
