CALGARY - A fire has halted operations at one of Suncor Energy's two oilsands upgraders north of Fort McMurray, the company said Tuesday.4 g8 j* m# o1 z2 N0 g& i3 [' y& X; G
. p0 u7 K2 q- X& |No one was hurt in the incident which happened after a fire broke out around midnight at its upgrader #1, Suncor said.

The energy giant said the 125,000-barrel-per-day unit was shut down after the fire, and it is currently assessing damage.0 ~2 q8 K% [- H" h. k1 S) U6 [
; p4 j. h8 B4 h' n* `( Z+ aSuncor has been plagued by a series fires at its oilsands operations in the past five months, suffering three fires since October in the upgraders which convert bitumen into synthetic crude oil.
