Two cutler –hammer advantage starters are doing the same thing:$ q+ H' A O; D
After start 2-3 times, they will quit working, if you toggle the start and stop buttons on DCS screen , you will get another 2-3 running before they quit working again.
3 i& }7 m! a+ ]- ^It is a cycle.$ Y6 R1 E y( ?+ b$ Z2 K
1 L3 w6 _9 E3 a% ~% N2 YWe isolate the network control and use the local start and stop only, the problem remains.
" K o5 q, s& _! K) ^) oSwap one of the defective buckets with a good one, the new bucket works fine.
8 U2 x! l% k- f. J3 U. QThe problem should be inside the bucket.

2 x* q! h! A9 C; t: t8 dWhen the problem happened, we observed that the contactor has a pulling action but will not seal.
/ \ R& d1 ?0 `Use a terminating screw divers to push in the contactor, it will not seal either., S. Y3 G& J8 R4 [8 \: `* P0 o
Confirm with TECH support this should be a problem with the control circuit board inside the advantage starter, we bought two new control circuit boards and replaced the old ones, the problem is still the same.; [. n* S9 ~4 `: e
3 j" `9 N$ @4 @- U H$ ZThe next thing we can think of is the coil, we took the coil out to have a close look.
5 f, n/ m' R x( Y* _They have a fork to pinch inside the two leads to make connection, it is not a good design at all. We soldered the connection and tried again.
& e/ t; r+ r) ?, b( I3 H) o' Y It is getting better this time, we have 7-8 times of running before it quit working. + x) ?: N/ K" a* h2 c/ l
