The IT Small Systems Specialist will be responsible for providing day to day technical support for SYSCO Edmonton. Responsibilities will include equipment management and support, basic network support and troubleshooting.

$ |7 d# R0 n0 g4 {' H§ Provide high level of customer service to internal customers
: d4 W4 F) \2 r* M) y+ x! W8 D§ Provide small systems technical support; troubleshoot problems and either resolve them independently or coordinate third party involvement in resolution & }4 V% P7 L+ \
§ Hardware and software installation, configuration and implementation* V' f6 c& ?% ?! D3 C! S
§ Ensure software and hardware standards and other policies are adhered to at all times
0 b$ q, V- R' H3 F0 j§ Liaise with Corporate IT Helpdesk
6 h. _$ j0 e# P; _$ m§ Become familiar with in-house software applications (AS/400, EXE/warehouse management system, SOS, VRFS, Impromptu, Lotus Notes & others) with goal of becoming in-house expert

§ University or College degree in Computer Science and at least 2 years of related work experience! @% x) h* W) K( A. ~. S
§ Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with others and work under minimal supervision( W& T* K) ~6 I1 ^3 _8 s
§ Fundamental commitment to customer service) a( n' e2 v8 i1 @9 e# I' Y
§ Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills and the ability to work on multiple issues/ d0 ?9 |- C' y. H1 ^
§ Proven knowledge of Dell, IBM, Xerox and Lexmark hardware
5 N! u' e' E% o7 _" q/ w§ Experience installing, supporting and troubleshooting client desktop software
! s( _! e$ l9 f9 D§ Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, install and support computer users with Windows 98/NT/2000/XP in a domain environment, Ethernet, TCP/IP, routers, switches, concentrators, Network Management tools (e.g. virus protection, server monitoring) and with Xerox and /or Lexmark printer problems

The IT Manager will provide hands on management of all aspects of the local IT operations for SYSCO Edmonton - managing the information systems on a cost effective basis while ensuring user demands are met. This person will work closely with the SYSCO Canada Corporate IT group (located in Calgary and Toronto). 0 D0 q, B' [. N5 x* q' R

Responsibilities:

§ Manage and coach staff in IT group

§ Reporting to the Director of Finance and management on a monthly basis on status of IT projects and initiatives
1 q0 t2 k. H! p" B3 v8 l§ Work with auditors (internal and external) – respond to requests, prepare response to audit reports$ B$ k; M+ T l: o
§ Hardware and software configuration and implementation
7 A9 F, N( |: d% d§ Manage and track all technology assets including ensuring that all software licenses are documented and adhered to2 k; T# q2 T& \
§ Ensure software and hardware standards and other policies are adhered to at all times
1 _! q8 L1 x. N& y" u§ Perform network administration at the domain level; managing user accounts and network access
% D) [- n6 @" [" g, p, J5 ^§ Develop and maintain backup and restoration procedures
# U x: ?$ W5 L, }§ Develop and track IT budget as well as IT capital spending plan
. ]3 L8 J0 Q- Q0 W§ Liaise with Corporate IT Helpdesk
$ K3 V) d: Z) k§ Become familiar with in-house software applications (AS/400, EXE/warehouse management system, SOS, VRFS, Impromptu, Lotus Notes & others) with goal of becoming in-house expert

§ Coordinate and support end user training
