Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 0 n, _; {8 h! ]1 a+ A, K: F: N
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by , l. z# S) D0 n: S" }9 J2 y
the Board of Directors; A5 x4 o. K' F3 r7 Z' j
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
( c/ v1 P. q' ?' eincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
5 L* v+ T9 k( w! ?! j" uenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; $ q% ^/ ?( P ^, h* q0 z
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
' R+ D* Z% [6 |1 t- }. G: oobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
/ C$ K- V+ j6 dthe board; 6 Y. d$ U7 R- J% l0 L& w' v8 n
• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; ) A0 n1 P8 K" x
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
- O9 f: w, e8 }# t: D6 Ythe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; 5 s; D M2 s/ |! }
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 5 |5 I! {0 W$ X% `' i A" B+ H
changing needs of the organization and community;
: `8 B5 B8 Y6 D+ w• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
+ k/ y$ `; v# G7 X) ecommitments; Q B5 \. }: l, I6 _6 z. f `0 G
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 9 q' {& L0 Z# K9 W. F+ a7 q$ E$ g
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
n5 p* ~* k5 R2 b# r5 V1 i4 Zselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
5 B2 O& f; @5 q• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
g- T" l& d, \/ c4 W& m; p• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
+ a+ W# U& Q+ Kthe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
: A: z+ z8 z' A. D$ h: h( g' P5 j• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 2 N2 c8 F* ]: F- O# V- M+ P* \
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
/ [1 h: l: {$ G0 ~# c6 d* Hthe forthcoming year; 4 C3 ?9 @1 P" k4 @. a% ^
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical , ^7 }4 N; L3 p7 K6 V6 _1 _# ^
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

Required Professional Designation / Certification
% _9 u3 |* T3 [4 @- |4 _5 Z% o- e- j" P• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. ^+ _( T" O$ }0 M! K; g
9 ], s6 p+ D& M4 cRequired Experience 5 ?7 O& F; I; k/ r$ a& t
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
! E C" X( U6 e7 \ g1 z! c• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 4 `" g8 z* f9 x
abilities; + l3 h1 r7 L( U- d$ ^0 u+ t v/ t
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, $ h S0 m1 Y! a$ M% t' D: V# K
Networking and Fundraising; 4 Q& o! m& X7 U/ N$ O
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
