The successful Executive Director (ED) will combine a woman centered perspective, strategic

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and
( W: l; u$ t, X( ]execution of the YWCA Strategy

6 G* ~) s. F, t( O% s% Rthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by ! v' A; i" X# e* @+ j# w

• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
3 o: d; n& |- R/ I6 Gincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
& t' z6 x9 M5 c+ q$ R0 T Yenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
) V R$ G$ i9 l/ b, Z6 [• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 9 G/ o: W$ }, {6 ]* G
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; ( Q6 L: k/ Y) f, R3 y) z2 r
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion " p8 i4 E: ^1 }7 D
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
* h2 M( n8 P5 s' x• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the ; d e: M, | q* \% Y
changing needs of the organization and community;

commitments;
; U. V2 C- j! _: X; b; _• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
) R" w, x# \, O" r. v3 ~1 ?# A# [• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
) q* U6 ? V+ U& j- iselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; & Z7 M0 _1 q& C2 J% J h
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
) }+ [& z0 Q! _( F• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 9 _# s1 T, v8 s3 t( a# m$ x/ N
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
( f# h! z n- F% j9 d9 _1 G" z• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
4 W1 \ `0 A0 r7 @' ~9 S2 P; O4 Wperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED % O" {1 G. B. O
the forthcoming year; 7 ~- l2 T$ q$ r
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
. o# T3 k# t% G$ P- l# Ppractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task 3 n# R' `! C) v/ D

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. , \ |' {( `& H+ ?

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
" C0 K/ r; x# ]! g0 G+ `• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation & u7 G) p8 ?8 r& D8 c
abilities; 7 e. E* o: k& G3 g
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
5 B" `$ k( ]& x+ U7 i4 PNetworking and Fundraising;
. y' X+ @/ o Q# E• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting # ]5 C" }3 J- ^
and financial statements; and
