• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of # g9 @/ k( Q' F) E5 E! T8 l
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by ; p$ X. R! P& e7 M" n* L) r; h
the Board of Directors; ( G& V% }7 E$ ~/ G9 R3 r% L/ y* X
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
- @+ w; v3 m0 W& pincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
2 O6 k) x. w" b; I6 J+ _enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; : z& F9 y6 n: }
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
& L: O$ i' Y" {* V& Q6 Lobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

/ m7 Q$ P, t1 d6 b5 J' w# S0 b• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; " t2 r0 r0 ?$ o* L \1 r( _
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
, q; |( L' F# U% `% X/ \the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
! Z. b) W2 q0 j2 s `5 W• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the ; g: u- p0 h* u& [5 h2 m% A ]
changing needs of the organization and community; / O$ Y, w' J5 y/ y/ E. S7 Q, H( r
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue : |1 b3 M% @# i* V/ F& Q/ a
commitments; # A. i( S+ M2 |% i9 z
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; ) A. \1 \; E8 G- _* K3 K
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 3 \+ l( E$ v: z; E \+ r9 `8 D* N- `
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; ) R/ r* }3 w$ I* C. _' x
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring I$ W7 V% ~3 T2 R
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
6 y- g- |! J# T# F. ~5 {! g• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 2 s% g' ~3 V% A. E- [9 j9 x3 c
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED & o3 n0 Q) c; r9 I* p& _/ j
the forthcoming year;
/ R$ x' |" \, }% X5 @* r+ N• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
: d. r& q( c6 Z3 c6 `4 I$ ]practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

" N* P) E$ i& B" k5 F+ r$ i• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Ability to develop and understand organizational goals, objectives and operations;

• Ability to plan, coordinate, and monitor a significant number of functions / tasks

Required Professional Designation / Certification / K- S9 e& @' O+ U) O# a }3 e
• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 4 @" X+ p# {; c* e
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation : h/ C- G* A- @! L% `
abilities;
! k3 j1 e; t2 [9 w @• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
- K% y; }, {! _3 _* RNetworking and Fundraising;
" r2 c& P$ ^+ p, @* ]4 q• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting ( ?, C# |6 `6 M3 Y* w+ r
and financial statements; and
" [9 `3 c0 ^0 w0 ^9 u• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
