Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of $ j O d" _6 }- K! l: D* z8 r
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
3 ^' K1 \4 I4 `# ?the Board of Directors;
% n: i! J% j" l! b3 A3 Q• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
B9 L# W/ w( n' `including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
$ a7 ]" O" @; m) Z* |; D0 n( ] k4 Venable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; $ f$ B# c4 j0 J) d; F0 [( q
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 3 M6 t+ i$ l9 I4 s) h2 C) C5 t
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 7 |) J% O. A ^0 m9 w; S/ v! q% i0 `! t
the board;
6 Y5 j9 p5 R1 w1 t& x4 N• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 1 V) ^9 j# A$ r8 `- h3 W
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion - }# V+ {3 f3 m2 I) x
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; - k- s* B4 e6 V2 R, f' x
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
* `8 l/ @$ D: ~0 F9 D9 x/ Ochanging needs of the organization and community; $ L$ q. N4 a/ y9 W" W& k
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
' P3 j6 ~. f9 N% J6 {/ R# r9 f* ncommitments; C9 @9 c' G; S, M$ m
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 6 K' p( T! V3 ?& _
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective : l" v& P5 ~5 w; p$ N
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
/ \7 k' v' ^9 I9 [ n) T: V. @' }• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
' Z8 u1 K8 u& q$ M6 i• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
& q' ?9 H' T& y9 b% b2 Seffectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 0 P% P) T% ]& @% _
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; + d* D9 R5 ^) {% o X
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 8 c& h6 u3 u& X8 X7 C4 B7 D
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED / V3 y: @0 P4 c' H, O1 i
the forthcoming year;
; Z$ y7 V) p+ G• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 3 X7 R w1 }1 S$ z/ P8 k/ k4 g7 Y
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of 1 a g/ z0 T1 x0 }- e

! u% D2 j" ^0 @# e• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
7 h! d" W& |% |' w) Q. A0 ?; a7 \• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 7 b: b0 V& f& j% Y; `- t
abilities;
! V5 b0 ]" I$ \# T; ^• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
) p1 @0 b. c2 BNetworking and Fundraising;
0 b! f% M6 `/ R' `( k. N1 N& m• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
