What Makes Christmas Magical

are distant memories. Hearty indulgence in the many foods shared at Christmas 7 N3 q* H0 s8 h. F5 \: ]; c
therefore doesn't produce the same feelings of guilt. Nevertheless, its not a
0 c; g4 s9 ^: U  s$ _pleasant thought to start the New Year carrying any extra pounds. So why then
( I. i$ S; w: l% g. y) _eat yourself into a resolution to 'take off a few extra pounds' if you can & B. N% L# p) i- F1 w
smartly avoid it?
7 p' z; t& [# t" t1 a?Whether it's sharing cookies and candies at work, or having an evening out
9 Y4 y; {5 F1 p; k+ n) K; Yat a party or dinner, you can have Christmas food and enjoy it. While you seem 3 C/ v4 i+ e6 t" z" u- O; H  ]
to be eating heartily with a smile, the key is to have a secret strategy of / U8 g& U: K$ t: @1 x4 a
moderation. It involves sticking to a plan that can be called 'Eating on a $ x; X" c' {, j
Budget.'

' Z" b# y0 Y7 d* A. E2 Z" i+ \+ oto a lot of cookies, candies and other sweets at Christmas. At work, you may 6 ^  c5 z$ N. \( a1 E4 o6 }
risk appearing like the Grinch who stole Christmas if your response will always $ ~# Q* V% L6 f+ y) s
be something like, 'Uh..no..bah humbug' all the time that some Christmas goodies ) {. m4 M- e# B7 Y2 Z
are offered. It will seem as if you aren't in the spirit of the holidays
7 E4 x. T' p9 e7 ^! _) [- ~1 D( Nespecially since at that time of year everyone is usually in a festive and more ( j* b0 U( Z5 W
relaxed mood, and the pace at work is usually slower. 3 y9 ^4 B, |) ]0 e" `7 L, |
?A practical way to partake in Christmas goodies, for example, is to ! P% K. u+ f0 F0 W+ I1 i
substitute some holiday cookies for say the bagel that you usually have with
9 C4 W, o2 m. ?2 b6 }: u$ n  Ibreakfast or for a mid-morning snack. And instead of just taking one cookie, 4 x1 ]1 K) S- @2 l$ U
from the platter, which is noticeable and likely will encourage a colleague to % B1 L1 }+ T6 F* C1 q8 x4 f9 G
tell you to have more, take three instead. That's where the plan can come into 8 l8 @* C# `1 _2 F) L, r) z
play. You can then enjoy the cookies over two or more hours,ed hardy hoodies, because nobody will
4 S! k7 W7 }1 B' b8 v; dbe watching how you really eat. You can always have a few candies, one cookie or
# X8 j5 c) ^1 L9 i. da cookie and a half by your desk and that way it will seem as if you are
# G$ p- d2 \* J4 U+ [& ]heartily enjoying the holiday treats.? 5 A( o3 W- V$ e
?Another strategy is to bring - bake or buy - low calorie Christmas cookies / V9 b6 l' u( ?* l
and candies to work to counteract others that are being offered. Since eating
8 \3 |' _6 J( n2 Ehealthy is highly encouraged, health-conscious cookies will not be looked down ' b. L/ y- j' Z  N9 O! j
upon so long as they taste great. A box of sugar-free Christmas chocolate
* [5 S" p2 _5 t+ s* ~  x- zcandies for example will look just as delightful as regular chocolate candies.

/ t) B* j0 F! E/ k+ w2 bthe selections can be sampled. If the urge to try everything can't be resisted,

* p9 L6 f* {$ S6 Nsomewhat true for Christmas Dinners. One big difference is that the food served & D* y! _4 x5 h8 y5 C
during Christmas Dinner will be heavier, so by selecting portions wisely,air max tn, one ' r# z1 j/ P6 j
