What Makes Christmas Magical

are distant memories. Hearty indulgence in the many foods shared at Christmas

pleasant thought to start the New Year carrying any extra pounds. So why then + p  U* B3 ]# d8 \+ T; o4 Z
eat yourself into a resolution to 'take off a few extra pounds' if you can
: y/ l, P1 A% ^4 Jsmartly avoid it?/ V! V9 l2 w# H; U/ X4 f
?Whether it's sharing cookies and candies at work, or having an evening out   ?# {/ i# ~) f, Q& b
at a party or dinner, you can have Christmas food and enjoy it. While you seem
/ w- Z7 t6 u0 c3 gto be eating heartily with a smile, the key is to have a secret strategy of
  `( ^3 p5 z- h2 N3 \/ L! emoderation. It involves sticking to a plan that can be called 'Eating on a
) {( v! A& o2 d' {Budget.'

risk appearing like the Grinch who stole Christmas if your response will always
$ W5 ]4 Z& c9 q- r& m$ gbe something like, 'Uh..no..bah humbug' all the time that some Christmas goodies
9 o0 I/ j; b$ c3 K) }are offered. It will seem as if you aren't in the spirit of the holidays
. ]8 Q% e* X: U% L( v) P2 `especially since at that time of year everyone is usually in a festive and more / ^4 q6 m% S* _8 q: V# O2 j
relaxed mood, and the pace at work is usually slower.
$ t1 i4 R! {6 B2 H?A practical way to partake in Christmas goodies, for example, is to , u% a1 U- \  w9 l7 u0 h; b+ `
substitute some holiday cookies for say the bagel that you usually have with 0 B* S* \* b% s/ v( Z
breakfast or for a mid-morning snack. And instead of just taking one cookie,
& W" e, _5 ]9 w. k: u% ofrom the platter, which is noticeable and likely will encourage a colleague to % W, Z4 l& }  ?- s2 i0 X
tell you to have more, take three instead. That's where the plan can come into 8 Q8 W0 y4 q# d. q8 \$ K
play. You can then enjoy the cookies over two or more hours,ed hardy hoodies, because nobody will

a cookie and a half by your desk and that way it will seem as if you are

?Another strategy is to bring - bake or buy - low calorie Christmas cookies , Y! L1 T/ f& ~
and candies to work to counteract others that are being offered. Since eating ' S) X. ]5 f% V4 w
healthy is highly encouraged, health-conscious cookies will not be looked down   @( I7 v% D  h! g
upon so long as they taste great. A box of sugar-free Christmas chocolate
7 z4 ?) a% `/ {4 S/ Zcandies for example will look just as delightful as regular chocolate candies.

on a Budget' plan means that serving portions and the choice of food selected

At a party where more desserts and sweets are likely to be available, a few of & q. y/ F9 {, a+ X- S
the selections can be sampled. If the urge to try everything can't be resisted, / F) a  d. ~" E- m: i: A  _
then do so, but then second helpings have to be severely limited. The same is / e( }) `/ Z7 }! @
somewhat true for Christmas Dinners. One big difference is that the food served , x% F" ]/ y+ J
during Christmas Dinner will be heavier, so by selecting portions wisely,air max tn, one : P4 R  S6 Y% I
can always say truthfully that the stomach is full. 6 C, C+ G$ x8 n

from food and your soul full of joy from sharing another memorable holiday
