What Makes Christmas Magical

During the Christmas season, summer and its body-conscious state of mind - X$ ?( @% X# ^7 h9 p4 Y
are distant memories. Hearty indulgence in the many foods shared at Christmas " L& ~4 M: B# U2 j% [% B
therefore doesn't produce the same feelings of guilt. Nevertheless, its not a
; Y4 u5 x8 p8 u! f$ i/ S, }pleasant thought to start the New Year carrying any extra pounds. So why then
0 A' X% s9 \1 T3 U+ v! w8 neat yourself into a resolution to 'take off a few extra pounds' if you can # u! x3 V4 }7 }1 S7 x
smartly avoid it?
& Z1 z/ N: t) R/ r9 M?Whether it's sharing cookies and candies at work, or having an evening out
: _6 W$ f' I4 j' bat a party or dinner, you can have Christmas food and enjoy it. While you seem
$ M" T- A2 @0 v; w: @1 oto be eating heartily with a smile, the key is to have a secret strategy of
/ J- j5 U) M! Q) Y4 q$ bmoderation. It involves sticking to a plan that can be called 'Eating on a
6 b' L0 M& i% E  [+ d; UBudget.'

risk appearing like the Grinch who stole Christmas if your response will always * A$ h# o& r% b7 W6 U
be something like, 'Uh..no..bah humbug' all the time that some Christmas goodies
7 K  r  f8 N- P- T3 iare offered. It will seem as if you aren't in the spirit of the holidays
7 I1 q# W0 d9 Y; |2 T  S" m  v) o, Oespecially since at that time of year everyone is usually in a festive and more
, H) T1 _% p5 nrelaxed mood, and the pace at work is usually slower. 6 v: G- G! O  N( W' u% N' }
?A practical way to partake in Christmas goodies, for example, is to
$ B2 l5 p2 [5 b& |5 h# Hsubstitute some holiday cookies for say the bagel that you usually have with
' u/ E: T8 d9 i$ l2 J* {3 v' K, fbreakfast or for a mid-morning snack. And instead of just taking one cookie,
3 w- X1 q3 O- B3 @/ Wfrom the platter, which is noticeable and likely will encourage a colleague to ! R" r3 X: ?: \9 Z1 C& v" o) K
tell you to have more, take three instead. That's where the plan can come into 6 o4 a- y7 g4 w8 U+ B  s
play. You can then enjoy the cookies over two or more hours,ed hardy hoodies, because nobody will ' L. H( N! y9 L. G
be watching how you really eat. You can always have a few candies, one cookie or
/ {) ~2 W$ P6 ]1 r! R2 X/ ra cookie and a half by your desk and that way it will seem as if you are 4 n8 W0 c4 ^. K  Q, B+ B
heartily enjoying the holiday treats.?
4 q. u2 A: O: |4 z+ J?Another strategy is to bring - bake or buy - low calorie Christmas cookies
( \4 n' C9 S" w) E" y3 ~- mand candies to work to counteract others that are being offered. Since eating   o+ ^# n1 w2 A" I4 S
healthy is highly encouraged, health-conscious cookies will not be looked down ; i* J: [9 B$ ~  Q4 x* |5 C4 A& x
upon so long as they taste great. A box of sugar-free Christmas chocolate # C$ P7 n6 }3 P4 c& y
candies for example will look just as delightful as regular chocolate candies. 4 A9 F7 r% X2 _8 i8 s3 L
It's interesting to note that in a poll sponsored by the National Confectioners

At a party where more desserts and sweets are likely to be available, a few of

then do so, but then second helpings have to be severely limited. The same is 8 q, }* @+ b3 p& ~' G$ t) R
somewhat true for Christmas Dinners. One big difference is that the food served " G4 a- c# `8 r, ^. k9 P' Z) x9 \
during Christmas Dinner will be heavier, so by selecting portions wisely,air max tn, one

And indeed,juicy couture shoes, after a sumptuous Holiday Dinner, your body is likely to be full

tradition with family, friends and loved ones.
