are distant memories. Hearty indulgence in the many foods shared at Christmas ( n+ u, u9 L( }$ x4 i# Q- F; X
therefore doesn't produce the same feelings of guilt. Nevertheless, its not a
3 [/ H% E" g( L! S" {& D9 `! spleasant thought to start the New Year carrying any extra pounds. So why then
' s' w+ q& n, \6 g9 ^. ueat yourself into a resolution to 'take off a few extra pounds' if you can 8 n, T2 J* J$ K3 F2 I# ^
smartly avoid it?6 e% B0 D2 B# F9 h8 {' G9 u
?Whether it's sharing cookies and candies at work, or having an evening out
! @. ^1 ^2 ~( C% O  }6 r. v4 |at a party or dinner, you can have Christmas food and enjoy it. While you seem
" @$ A! ]) O; T6 _% [% Qto be eating heartily with a smile, the key is to have a secret strategy of $ n) z3 `: _. U9 ?' Y
moderation. It involves sticking to a plan that can be called 'Eating on a
2 b1 s/ z1 Q1 w& J" VBudget.'" K* Z- O% o0 L- `7 N( j7 i3 o$ y# h5 u

moderation plan is developed because it is almost impossible to avoid exposure

are offered. It will seem as if you aren't in the spirit of the holidays
- k1 F9 J: Z( h; G/ Aespecially since at that time of year everyone is usually in a festive and more
* N" {1 s: y" Y0 G8 y: Nrelaxed mood, and the pace at work is usually slower.
2 M" x- K6 W) M* x2 z?A practical way to partake in Christmas goodies, for example, is to : @$ f' w0 F/ }
substitute some holiday cookies for say the bagel that you usually have with
2 |8 Q4 I2 S3 n; X) u: Ybreakfast or for a mid-morning snack. And instead of just taking one cookie,
) `/ ~% s+ ]* `- F1 p6 Pfrom the platter, which is noticeable and likely will encourage a colleague to 3 c$ v/ d/ q0 \& t2 j
tell you to have more, take three instead. That's where the plan can come into 0 _% h" c7 w1 K9 }" [9 v
play. You can then enjoy the cookies over two or more hours,ed hardy hoodies, because nobody will 1 V  V+ v+ C3 [4 D- f5 ?% H
be watching how you really eat. You can always have a few candies, one cookie or

?Another strategy is to bring - bake or buy - low calorie Christmas cookies 2 B0 W0 m. r5 P6 Z" a2 e2 T; G) m
and candies to work to counteract others that are being offered. Since eating / Z/ m5 A5 L4 \: c
healthy is highly encouraged, health-conscious cookies will not be looked down
. z0 G! X& Z4 D+ n* e  {$ ]upon so long as they taste great. A box of sugar-free Christmas chocolate
% q5 Q! `" Z, ^0 Z: f* Z) Ycandies for example will look just as delightful as regular chocolate candies. , @7 F: C9 S/ @+ t
It's interesting to note that in a poll sponsored by the National Confectioners

At a party where more desserts and sweets are likely to be available, a few of & c4 V  q4 W, I! G- K  x) Q
the selections can be sampled. If the urge to try everything can't be resisted, ; Q9 V8 K9 O' H
then do so, but then second helpings have to be severely limited. The same is * U2 Y, B! c% S% k4 s
somewhat true for Christmas Dinners. One big difference is that the food served ( x9 w" V; V% I
during Christmas Dinner will be heavier, so by selecting portions wisely,air max tn, one * g6 p1 p( g- S+ Q, |  [
can always say truthfully that the stomach is full.
