During the Christmas season, summer and its body-conscious state of mind

# F: J% p& j+ p0 t1 b0 R- Ltherefore doesn't produce the same feelings of guilt. Nevertheless, its not a
% H* Y5 s% j! @, wpleasant thought to start the New Year carrying any extra pounds. So why then
4 _) x" `  {' @( Ueat yourself into a resolution to 'take off a few extra pounds' if you can
) j( Z& s3 K; esmartly avoid it?
: e0 a' j" F% p; e7 [3 y?Whether it's sharing cookies and candies at work, or having an evening out
) h& G- J5 M0 @* E/ u! j" \at a party or dinner, you can have Christmas food and enjoy it. While you seem
5 |; \) s9 D' _: O% Zto be eating heartily with a smile, the key is to have a secret strategy of 8 u. Q. g& j$ _
moderation. It involves sticking to a plan that can be called 'Eating on a
3 M4 Q8 B+ J; v3 |2 @) ZBudget.'

are offered. It will seem as if you aren't in the spirit of the holidays
: }0 {; ?( X- k1 Y/ h2 Iespecially since at that time of year everyone is usually in a festive and more " L0 H( ~3 J8 D' D) ~  K
relaxed mood, and the pace at work is usually slower. . z1 Z: j5 Q: C( C# ^9 F% j
?A practical way to partake in Christmas goodies, for example, is to
4 \' ^' `5 ~3 t& zsubstitute some holiday cookies for say the bagel that you usually have with 3 O% N- W1 ]2 i7 D9 c# C
breakfast or for a mid-morning snack. And instead of just taking one cookie, # S' J8 ~) p; a& @. X3 P
from the platter, which is noticeable and likely will encourage a colleague to " ]1 h. r4 T/ A  v7 J
tell you to have more, take three instead. That's where the plan can come into 0 q/ y0 r# V' [3 c
play. You can then enjoy the cookies over two or more hours,ed hardy hoodies, because nobody will
3 s, y& S" h1 i5 a+ H. {be watching how you really eat. You can always have a few candies, one cookie or 9 u2 g  j( S- I7 V4 w( f
a cookie and a half by your desk and that way it will seem as if you are " o; o# O. J, P# B

; j% H& H2 C' H, ]& o  D1 Kand candies to work to counteract others that are being offered. Since eating
$ a3 k0 R/ E" h; R! L+ J: ?/ K( Hhealthy is highly encouraged, health-conscious cookies will not be looked down
  U( H; P* u" @3 O9 i4 o: Q5 Fupon so long as they taste great. A box of sugar-free Christmas chocolate
) r9 F4 C' m9 Y- ^candies for example will look just as delightful as regular chocolate candies. 1 C3 C( n7 r7 d9 E3 A
It's interesting to note that in a poll sponsored by the National Confectioners

on a Budget' plan means that serving portions and the choice of food selected

the selections can be sampled. If the urge to try everything can't be resisted,
