What Makes Christmas Magical

therefore doesn't produce the same feelings of guilt. Nevertheless, its not a

?Whether it's sharing cookies and candies at work, or having an evening out & l7 f9 e7 Z2 R* U$ a  g5 l
at a party or dinner, you can have Christmas food and enjoy it. While you seem ' r1 T; a6 I7 M  |
to be eating heartily with a smile, the key is to have a secret strategy of : ^4 r$ J1 r2 t, f: n
moderation. It involves sticking to a plan that can be called 'Eating on a

are offered. It will seem as if you aren't in the spirit of the holidays
0 K' R& {  \. F. |0 q9 v8 Oespecially since at that time of year everyone is usually in a festive and more
4 z/ ]8 S1 n* rrelaxed mood, and the pace at work is usually slower.
, x5 p; w5 n2 }# j  |0 Q8 ^?A practical way to partake in Christmas goodies, for example, is to
; Q; @+ g5 S# I' Wsubstitute some holiday cookies for say the bagel that you usually have with $ G: K* A- L6 P" y
breakfast or for a mid-morning snack. And instead of just taking one cookie, / O, k; p/ I! _1 U  p+ w, ^) b
from the platter, which is noticeable and likely will encourage a colleague to . A. a+ S" ^) ]7 X
tell you to have more, take three instead. That's where the plan can come into
, B8 q0 \- V  jplay. You can then enjoy the cookies over two or more hours,ed hardy hoodies, because nobody will , h+ K% n4 e7 y  k: D
be watching how you really eat. You can always have a few candies, one cookie or 6 Q' M0 W7 d" z2 ?& C% o6 P
a cookie and a half by your desk and that way it will seem as if you are
$ P/ K/ e7 y8 L: s3 O7 yheartily enjoying the holiday treats.? % f, s# P7 e! G- J7 |
?Another strategy is to bring - bake or buy - low calorie Christmas cookies
6 z% d- L8 {6 p4 l- V8 uand candies to work to counteract others that are being offered. Since eating
: t& I  R) D2 z% f# @healthy is highly encouraged, health-conscious cookies will not be looked down * v" O: _. q5 H2 W
upon so long as they taste great. A box of sugar-free Christmas chocolate * J6 m6 w) q" x9 k) F
candies for example will look just as delightful as regular chocolate candies. 0 ~  q0 F+ a! v# }5 S
It's interesting to note that in a poll sponsored by the National Confectioners

Dinner, where larger quantities and selection of food is available, the 'Eating , Z' ?# u. y9 Z& F3 c% S; y; [2 H
on a Budget' plan means that serving portions and the choice of food selected
& L! `/ L" B) M6 k  u  [4 kshould be carefully watched.
: |; E* e' {, D1 w9 YAt a party where more desserts and sweets are likely to be available, a few of ! k9 q( M" A0 ^5 a/ T! E
the selections can be sampled. If the urge to try everything can't be resisted,
2 T0 r4 \9 B" G3 q) O* Xthen do so, but then second helpings have to be severely limited. The same is
  w' J! y" D3 d/ M: Hsomewhat true for Christmas Dinners. One big difference is that the food served % L: @' q) C0 h0 a' v+ q& J
during Christmas Dinner will be heavier, so by selecting portions wisely,air max tn, one $ L; j5 G- W4 w+ s

tradition with family, friends and loved ones.
