During the Christmas season, summer and its body-conscious state of mind

% W" `. A3 Z- _9 r: }7 C7 ktherefore doesn't produce the same feelings of guilt. Nevertheless, its not a 6 b) y! L; {; s. r0 Z
pleasant thought to start the New Year carrying any extra pounds. So why then
4 r9 Q# B& Z# A0 B' e- Eeat yourself into a resolution to 'take off a few extra pounds' if you can
' E# l4 m! ~0 s+ }9 gsmartly avoid it?
8 ]) |$ B5 Z7 @. M?Whether it's sharing cookies and candies at work, or having an evening out 0 H% b; P4 c6 I/ `/ L4 [9 ]
at a party or dinner, you can have Christmas food and enjoy it. While you seem
# r4 H. T3 Y: g- ^to be eating heartily with a smile, the key is to have a secret strategy of
5 M- a6 P3 s- [/ n" w: Zmoderation. It involves sticking to a plan that can be called 'Eating on a - h6 I+ g6 l5 o. s! m5 \8 y; q
Budget.'4 p' K0 `6 R$ }8 {

8 f4 i) p4 ~& e" v& Kbe something like, 'Uh..no..bah humbug' all the time that some Christmas goodies ) h" a, j+ i; W5 O5 f; ~1 @- f& n
are offered. It will seem as if you aren't in the spirit of the holidays . _$ ?. `, N! \6 T: @4 \
especially since at that time of year everyone is usually in a festive and more 8 E( y+ a! N. Y0 Y; [$ A
relaxed mood, and the pace at work is usually slower. 9 Y' E5 P% C' Q0 V: \
?A practical way to partake in Christmas goodies, for example, is to ( V: L. K9 [/ @5 f
substitute some holiday cookies for say the bagel that you usually have with + C9 }2 W: s/ O! Y9 n1 d( j; X
breakfast or for a mid-morning snack. And instead of just taking one cookie,
9 g- s1 t" V4 ?: y7 g1 @from the platter, which is noticeable and likely will encourage a colleague to
+ s' f- h( I% d" ptell you to have more, take three instead. That's where the plan can come into * k% s6 n( T; s! d5 E. T
play. You can then enjoy the cookies over two or more hours,ed hardy hoodies, because nobody will 1 q8 r- {  ^; Z  g$ L8 K
be watching how you really eat. You can always have a few candies, one cookie or 4 K) h- [5 g; R

. c, ]. d7 g" {0 [healthy is highly encouraged, health-conscious cookies will not be looked down
" g' ]; c- _' \! @, vupon so long as they taste great. A box of sugar-free Christmas chocolate
  x( N! J0 u7 N2 X, jcandies for example will look just as delightful as regular chocolate candies.

For an occasion such as a Christmas party or a dinner, including Christmas " T1 {' e0 j. x8 i* u" |# q
Dinner, where larger quantities and selection of food is available, the 'Eating
% m! r8 t: A8 M; y' F  ]8 `on a Budget' plan means that serving portions and the choice of food selected
5 I3 H) l$ V* ^; C* M& |5 \should be carefully watched. + a5 A' J% S; k! r& v) C
At a party where more desserts and sweets are likely to be available, a few of 8 a# Q1 S$ c5 x
the selections can be sampled. If the urge to try everything can't be resisted,

somewhat true for Christmas Dinners. One big difference is that the food served
