What Makes Christmas Magical

During the Christmas season, summer and its body-conscious state of mind % i; Q" L6 n* I( I" Z- m, I" V
are distant memories. Hearty indulgence in the many foods shared at Christmas 6 [. @$ z) }+ |5 e0 V
therefore doesn't produce the same feelings of guilt. Nevertheless, its not a
! s' f& D' u9 o. S( D' l/ ~pleasant thought to start the New Year carrying any extra pounds. So why then . j, P1 t2 G" h4 p4 A; V' o
eat yourself into a resolution to 'take off a few extra pounds' if you can

1 j( d# x- U1 x, \. X8 ]1 A?Whether it's sharing cookies and candies at work, or having an evening out
6 ^+ x/ |( [: L" w1 U2 _* M/ e# J: e% [at a party or dinner, you can have Christmas food and enjoy it. While you seem
# z' V0 N/ `. A# I$ dto be eating heartily with a smile, the key is to have a secret strategy of + f3 ?8 j; G* C1 z" V2 ?  c2 V1 i7 a
moderation. It involves sticking to a plan that can be called 'Eating on a 5 T) D5 J$ L. |* u+ S, X% g5 d; K' g

to a lot of cookies, candies and other sweets at Christmas. At work, you may

are offered. It will seem as if you aren't in the spirit of the holidays . ]" K- R5 q- H, l7 K/ u' n
especially since at that time of year everyone is usually in a festive and more
) `! K$ p* w/ ^! ~relaxed mood, and the pace at work is usually slower. ! u( b! V0 u' z3 e) D
?A practical way to partake in Christmas goodies, for example, is to 7 x, V# c2 p3 v5 S0 n! h  ~" k6 F3 o; j
substitute some holiday cookies for say the bagel that you usually have with . v" x. n, M$ |5 L/ W" T7 l" f
breakfast or for a mid-morning snack. And instead of just taking one cookie,
) r3 s; M" {) {from the platter, which is noticeable and likely will encourage a colleague to
# g7 n3 g1 j7 D& M3 ktell you to have more, take three instead. That's where the plan can come into
9 S: z% v* F. q' c" j0 wplay. You can then enjoy the cookies over two or more hours,ed hardy hoodies, because nobody will ' i. p+ @- S  h
be watching how you really eat. You can always have a few candies, one cookie or / r, T+ M. R+ l; V
a cookie and a half by your desk and that way it will seem as if you are ) T* E' `9 Y6 J$ O" ~/ Y, L; L
heartily enjoying the holiday treats.?

" ^' I7 U7 C- b1 q7 C# \healthy is highly encouraged, health-conscious cookies will not be looked down / @, o) p/ x7 C3 b
upon so long as they taste great. A box of sugar-free Christmas chocolate

on a Budget' plan means that serving portions and the choice of food selected 0 ?( \2 w- \; i* @- S  W% r
should be carefully watched.

then do so, but then second helpings have to be severely limited. The same is
