are distant memories. Hearty indulgence in the many foods shared at Christmas , E! n. }7 [* o" g% v* f& z% J7 E6 ]
therefore doesn't produce the same feelings of guilt. Nevertheless, its not a # @9 B0 i# _; p. C* X. i
pleasant thought to start the New Year carrying any extra pounds. So why then
9 e& ~8 @9 I  H' s3 M' F# leat yourself into a resolution to 'take off a few extra pounds' if you can $ C4 E( C6 M4 m8 @% Q, k2 X  ]) [
smartly avoid it?0 D1 `6 l, B" S9 v0 i* p7 V/ E5 p, @0 f
?Whether it's sharing cookies and candies at work, or having an evening out
) C5 n5 m  G! Y/ S* c- m( R: Cat a party or dinner, you can have Christmas food and enjoy it. While you seem
  [8 @+ c8 o+ |0 _2 f% S# Fto be eating heartily with a smile, the key is to have a secret strategy of 0 J) N; ?; L" {' ^4 ~# \% H
moderation. It involves sticking to a plan that can be called 'Eating on a

to a lot of cookies, candies and other sweets at Christmas. At work, you may

" y" S, z( ?. ^" _be something like, 'Uh..no..bah humbug' all the time that some Christmas goodies ' l7 s' u5 K# `- f2 Y* f
are offered. It will seem as if you aren't in the spirit of the holidays
  R8 [! R% X* p- T, A% b! m/ Sespecially since at that time of year everyone is usually in a festive and more $ f& y) G% A' |4 u" o
relaxed mood, and the pace at work is usually slower. # ^* U5 A0 v2 q& ~$ {
?A practical way to partake in Christmas goodies, for example, is to
7 ?6 O) Q' H5 \; Dsubstitute some holiday cookies for say the bagel that you usually have with
. \/ M! v" a5 o5 U- Y3 K2 ^breakfast or for a mid-morning snack. And instead of just taking one cookie,
) E& A9 g( `/ \& H/ Rfrom the platter, which is noticeable and likely will encourage a colleague to + H3 S6 O: _6 M/ r* U4 A( T# b
tell you to have more, take three instead. That's where the plan can come into 9 F/ g, G; ^- n6 k7 [
play. You can then enjoy the cookies over two or more hours,ed hardy hoodies, because nobody will 3 m; E) N/ m; y% O
be watching how you really eat. You can always have a few candies, one cookie or

?Another strategy is to bring - bake or buy - low calorie Christmas cookies   i/ a9 p& j, k3 P3 ?2 l
and candies to work to counteract others that are being offered. Since eating / v# w5 l" ?% B# b8 x
healthy is highly encouraged, health-conscious cookies will not be looked down 3 v' h/ n3 n9 V. v3 I
upon so long as they taste great. A box of sugar-free Christmas chocolate - F8 F. V4 G' i' ]
candies for example will look just as delightful as regular chocolate candies. 0 ^6 x& U; H/ i% z; a- V% w) c

should be carefully watched.

  ]! }9 e) J+ V5 x# ~the selections can be sampled. If the urge to try everything can't be resisted,
% T" m7 {2 i5 r3 |) Gthen do so, but then second helpings have to be severely limited. The same is 9 b' G/ m0 C4 x9 \! y
somewhat true for Christmas Dinners. One big difference is that the food served
