are distant memories. Hearty indulgence in the many foods shared at Christmas
& M# y4 b9 O4 w* X. Utherefore doesn't produce the same feelings of guilt. Nevertheless, its not a / s2 Q, c& V, R! P6 z8 B4 g! o
pleasant thought to start the New Year carrying any extra pounds. So why then
8 @# |3 U  y( i/ {4 Qeat yourself into a resolution to 'take off a few extra pounds' if you can
0 e5 [9 O) F2 M" ^* c5 ksmartly avoid it?/ T, O. p, N. g7 T
?Whether it's sharing cookies and candies at work, or having an evening out
7 |! h& M3 V4 e$ ?' `: f$ Hat a party or dinner, you can have Christmas food and enjoy it. While you seem $ {' z* q8 |7 w9 l
to be eating heartily with a smile, the key is to have a secret strategy of ( m- Z6 [* v5 Q
moderation. It involves sticking to a plan that can be called 'Eating on a
0 C+ l( r, ~' g; _Budget.'" R7 F; H2 \6 |2 |, P6 L) V, f$ ]

to a lot of cookies, candies and other sweets at Christmas. At work, you may

are offered. It will seem as if you aren't in the spirit of the holidays
- @1 A+ Z+ F6 _$ X% v$ Z4 {* Yespecially since at that time of year everyone is usually in a festive and more ' m* i+ s5 D  t# q- P
relaxed mood, and the pace at work is usually slower. . f) ?4 j: ^9 s$ [8 m  {3 i
?A practical way to partake in Christmas goodies, for example, is to
% v& [: E) e1 Jsubstitute some holiday cookies for say the bagel that you usually have with
0 L! [5 a: k& B3 R" Z$ xbreakfast or for a mid-morning snack. And instead of just taking one cookie,
  F" D# s3 \, qfrom the platter, which is noticeable and likely will encourage a colleague to ' M4 I7 Y/ [1 N4 b. j) S; M
tell you to have more, take three instead. That's where the plan can come into ! U/ s* V8 E* s; Q2 A
play. You can then enjoy the cookies over two or more hours,ed hardy hoodies, because nobody will ; M2 @) Q# D& B" @
be watching how you really eat. You can always have a few candies, one cookie or ! Q* `' d( t" S$ K: k3 m; _
a cookie and a half by your desk and that way it will seem as if you are
% K9 D$ f- H( K, qheartily enjoying the holiday treats.?
' L% U- q4 w3 Z& y?Another strategy is to bring - bake or buy - low calorie Christmas cookies ; X7 ~- q2 x* S0 O. h9 m
and candies to work to counteract others that are being offered. Since eating
% ^' E6 T9 ]  jhealthy is highly encouraged, health-conscious cookies will not be looked down 5 I6 w. M8 C9 \7 E+ `& K& a
upon so long as they taste great. A box of sugar-free Christmas chocolate 8 N) o" D4 U4 }9 p
candies for example will look just as delightful as regular chocolate candies. 3 C& q- u# ^9 t) O
It's interesting to note that in a poll sponsored by the National Confectioners $ U# ~* m& T! n( g6 b

At a party where more desserts and sweets are likely to be available, a few of

then do so, but then second helpings have to be severely limited. The same is 0 h0 E8 i/ C. [
somewhat true for Christmas Dinners. One big difference is that the food served 0 P& ~0 K4 ?1 g1 @
during Christmas Dinner will be heavier, so by selecting portions wisely,air max tn, one * {/ N2 _* t" i: ?) P" E
can always say truthfully that the stomach is full.
