What Makes Christmas Magical

therefore doesn't produce the same feelings of guilt. Nevertheless, its not a
& ~! p4 S/ S) b' ?pleasant thought to start the New Year carrying any extra pounds. So why then * [( q" z' s* @
eat yourself into a resolution to 'take off a few extra pounds' if you can , b( N9 x# E5 g9 K2 ?/ m! z
smartly avoid it?
- X+ D6 I3 j8 T, I( P# {?Whether it's sharing cookies and candies at work, or having an evening out : v$ F3 y( [9 P, A
at a party or dinner, you can have Christmas food and enjoy it. While you seem
) H' f: [- a- Z! K) mto be eating heartily with a smile, the key is to have a secret strategy of , N9 P( [9 P) t4 w8 K& k
moderation. It involves sticking to a plan that can be called 'Eating on a 0 y- O9 J: `" ?8 Z
Budget.'

to a lot of cookies, candies and other sweets at Christmas. At work, you may # u1 }+ w4 {+ h$ c- I0 L+ B
risk appearing like the Grinch who stole Christmas if your response will always ' D; A7 Q9 y: N! D% f
be something like, 'Uh..no..bah humbug' all the time that some Christmas goodies
3 }/ p* n1 u) j% |are offered. It will seem as if you aren't in the spirit of the holidays / x- n$ L+ @: Q% A  V' U, \1 W" ]
especially since at that time of year everyone is usually in a festive and more
# B. t# N- p+ Krelaxed mood, and the pace at work is usually slower.
- ?( t1 ~! \  x* [?A practical way to partake in Christmas goodies, for example, is to
9 s* _; g0 w& {/ i% p! j% C8 N, Lsubstitute some holiday cookies for say the bagel that you usually have with
, i# C1 F8 V2 u5 Z# o: Vbreakfast or for a mid-morning snack. And instead of just taking one cookie, # K9 \  n1 G6 g7 e. x0 H
from the platter, which is noticeable and likely will encourage a colleague to
0 T! V  ]2 [! w* stell you to have more, take three instead. That's where the plan can come into 4 T5 L+ |$ v, C, Z4 I
play. You can then enjoy the cookies over two or more hours,ed hardy hoodies, because nobody will
5 {  j7 m+ N7 S) c* v+ F% Wbe watching how you really eat. You can always have a few candies, one cookie or * `' z5 ]- a) Y# l. C
a cookie and a half by your desk and that way it will seem as if you are

  ?, x* Y' s% `# y: d?Another strategy is to bring - bake or buy - low calorie Christmas cookies
; I6 D* O/ z9 X4 Dand candies to work to counteract others that are being offered. Since eating ! Q' }8 s7 d; v  _# `
healthy is highly encouraged, health-conscious cookies will not be looked down ( `6 l, t! [# a9 x& n& z( o
upon so long as they taste great. A box of sugar-free Christmas chocolate
+ |" |. K( }; p/ Ccandies for example will look just as delightful as regular chocolate candies.
& Q3 z$ W5 P" O8 ?( {It's interesting to note that in a poll sponsored by the National Confectioners . X1 G+ t. q' b

At a party where more desserts and sweets are likely to be available, a few of 0 @  C7 G  J, @+ Q$ G- t0 _+ b) [
the selections can be sampled. If the urge to try everything can't be resisted, ! e8 v  |3 [1 }4 Z( p
then do so, but then second helpings have to be severely limited. The same is
$ b$ x9 x2 H% C( E$ S# vsomewhat true for Christmas Dinners. One big difference is that the food served % D% ]9 e: [0 F  v1 @, o9 N. n! x
during Christmas Dinner will be heavier, so by selecting portions wisely,air max tn, one 6 k* H  q  s/ A& A) ?
can always say truthfully that the stomach is full.
