7 |8 T; s+ D  w* l! iAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

' j: F( q2 C( S: }DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enterprise Data
5 D" m1 e: o* j1 ~9 K2 L• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
1 Z+ ^1 m% p- `) |• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.

. x* {2 E% q  |/ Q4 d• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
1 K; T- s+ x7 u# J$ B2 M- ^• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
9 ?( W, x! Q0 N! n7 ?  G• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
) p7 f/ i3 z2 B9 \8 o5 G! @• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

; F1 L$ o" ?" f' ~' P% R6 HSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
2 b& G; [/ F+ w$ Q# R0 }4 b• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
, [4 g/ G* S; {6 G: P. g. g• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
; @+ f+ B8 g( I% B: t• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
7 f8 A% }, K6 W3 i• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
4 M. r8 b+ V+ g' f2 I$ Y# ?& a9 @• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
