FUNCTION:
# i, N! j; m6 C( b, w- M/ Y) ?1 SAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
7 o, L2 [5 u7 [( j• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
2 u$ z/ u; \' [• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.

7 f$ B. ^' I+ [" Y# _• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
& t8 a2 e! t/ p/ F; ^" L: m' |; z; [• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
6 [7 p; Q- z/ `) O' I. i6 [( K• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
- B" l: I  N: ?• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

- V0 B7 F  |8 e# Z4 f& \+ j7 OSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
- L) J+ k* V# ]• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
# Z, N% W, G, U0 m# u* S" ?• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
2 @& u6 V* j& X• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
: N) o1 H7 A) r3 O9 R0 |, ]6 I3 A• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
