a few more things to take into considerations when comparing vehicles:

"另外,美国车相对来讲宽大,宽大的结果必然是舒服,外观也就大气。美国车宽大自然是与美国人高大魁梧有关系,但更与美国人追求人性化设计理念有关系。即使对于那些买车就是为了代步的人而言,宽大舒服也是很重要的。在一个狭窄憋屈的空间里不仅身体十分容易疲劳,空气浑浊得也快,而且人的精神状态也极其容易变得焦躁不安,同时空间狭窄也限制了正常的驾驶操作"

this statement isn't entirely true. both american and japanese car industries put lots of research and studies into their vehicles. car ergonomics is extremely important to buyers these days. ie the car seat needs to have the contour of a human body, the buttons, dials needs to be comfortably within driver's arm's reach. the distance between the seat and the gas/break pedal, height of car seats, etc have all been studied and researched for maximum comfort for majority of potential buyers. unfortunately, up until recent years, both industries have only been studying human bodies of their own countries and neglected those other potential buyers with different body types. / v/ h2 Y0 z2 z& i' f( a

& Y- Z& g7 D3 i- qthis statement used to be true, but as science and engineering progress during last 10 years, you'll find a lot more steels used in cars are now replaced with engineered materials, safety features, etc. ie a 1970 chevy is made entirely of steel. now a days, the same vehicle will have a fraction of the steel used and yet many more times of the safety ratings. this improved safety comes from devices such as improved seat belts, multiple air bag deloyments, engineered structual members, etc. 4 s6 f. ' Y, X& f4 |% t3 y: G+ Vif North American vehicles are as good as imports such as European and Japanese cars, then it should show through original sale prices and the resale values. of all the major vehicle makers, the north american vehicles resale value drops the most and in shortest time. that in itself tells people its reliability will not be as good as its counter parts in the same period of time. |
