Northeast Teen Drop-In Centre


Key Responsibilities & Duties:

0 D$ B  n- Z- J; P+ T Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
( a1 _7 c  J, ?; ?/ _4 A; x Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
9 n- @! _, [, q5 b8 z$ x Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
6 l8 Z. Q* a% d8 ~; f8 ~ Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.

Qualifications:

: M. w$ _- c7 Y Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
7 {% B4 V! U( s+ ]; _9 h Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
. z. Y* ^, r8 ~6 p Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
* T3 x" M! y. _5 e' I* y5 y5 M6 | Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
( u: I& ?' I0 L4 j! n& xstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
