Key Responsibilities & Duties:

0 l; v% Y2 d3 V, U$ w" A" B3 R Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
$ k* [+ R: a" |- H2 z( f4 P Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
9 t* K6 M; e+ E/ w4 z- r4 A. W0 O Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
9 C  ~8 Z+ ~. k# S% y Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:

" K& c, i, r6 _) i3 k( f5 w Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
5 V$ K7 H8 `8 _ Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
9 t7 w0 e% k; f5 S' t Knowledge of community resources.
" X; |1 k5 j& q/ f) n/ P Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
( @7 {" d' f/ `' h Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
% t7 m: [* ~- N1 E: m: NThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
