1 R' o+ x- X3 A. w5 @; X' Z4 d! I Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
- C. H( \, f+ S8 Q2 c Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
* v* P# [) u9 S+ K2 L/ K$ J Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
, a# j9 `6 I$ @0 x; ~+ R$ E. R Completing required paperwork., r: h& K! s, G% U j* W/ C
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
- z+ {( K- C5 |: P8 Q Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.

 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.% F1 V1 Q2 t2 t0 Z+ C, f
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.! k2 _* i5 f- m. u4 a+ B: \
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.( x. d, l# l: e" M8 g: C/ {
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis." q: G* {9 x/ k( i; J

Qualifications:
. n: O+ u6 l4 z2 ]# E% v* s( u4 _5 v7 u2 I9 p! S8 ^
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.( ]) d8 Q6 }. Z, e1 Y! s$ h# f' A
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
1 t {1 P1 o) c4 W" k Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
/ s/ F6 W0 o7 w! V+ w Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
4 O+ \ O# r! [7 [9 P& p) B$ P Knowledge of community resources.. W% g6 A- T/ f- t# J0 q! S
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
# a: a3 { E3 D4 ]5 d* a- W Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50; 2 r+ X' t0 _) g; c$ |5 G
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period. + @ {3 f, x/ i$ R' a
