Mechanical Engineer/Specialist –Research Equipment Design

An engineering start-up, which is committed to support the R&D and industrialization of process technologies in North America with expertise and international resources, now accepts applicant for the position of Mechanical Engineer /Specialist through Industry r&D Associates program, Alberta Ingenuity.

Major Responsibilities:
' \$ J8 ^4 I7 p3 M$ @- C•        Process research equipment design;
' y$ `6 X: t+ O  T8 k" |& i. E•        Pilot plant design with other professional engineers;
: O' a" C2 B( C  m. O+ L•        Equipment fabrication guidance;
•        Mechanical Codes/Standard elucidation;
•        Others.

) M! R0 F' Q! TQualifications:
+ y' G' K  V  W/ @$ O% q- \( M•        Mechanical Engineering Graduate of a Master’s or PhD program within five years of application date OR graduate student expecting to complete Master’s or PhD degree requirements within three months.
9 `. A( N* a% P, Y•        Equipment design experience is required;
•        Familiar with mechanical Codes/Standards; knowledge of electrical Codes/Standards is helpful;
( y% f( T9 w, p" M# T# g•        Familiar with CAD software;
•        Fluent in English, and knowledge of Mandarin is useful;
•        Fabrication, engineering and postdoctoral experience are assets.

( j" T1 I$ u% N  P- X; ]: k* USuccessful applicant of Alberta Ingenuity Industry r&D Associates will be awarded a $55,000 stipend per annum and a yearly allowance of $7,000. The total award value over two years is $124,000 from Alberta Ingenuity with opportunity for permanent position and stock option from the company after two years’ term.
