The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization.  This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

# ^. e$ R1 z* D4 `This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week.   The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.% P* e! X' x* X% y) Q0 s4 t

Job Responsibilities:

. C- f5 [1 W8 |0 x5 q: a+ }OPERATIONS
3 d% g" I- N  b/ g7 {•        Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.0 ^" ^- ?: v+ Z8 g" N
•        Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
4 P  s$ ]( b1 Y9 Y4 g•        Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
% @5 T) s% s0 Z4 A•        Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.) f" }0 Y' M; F" r1 q7 {$ k
•        Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
% f( q- T2 k; G% ]•        Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
* z4 U- X0 E* S- Z0 I* ~" E•        Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
6 A) Z; o' C- i# H; n+ r•        Facilitate placement of  practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities! _" v8 W. T+ P$ q6 F
•        Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

8 P" }' C8 Z  X; R% e0 j5 u. n. ^•        Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
  p7 B% O. m" a0 d•        Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up0 M( S4 c2 T- A  P3 V% l0 t

7 T" n( }; h- g; Y, z. ^9 B& H•        Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
7 V- ?$ H) Y* n6 N* Q•        Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
3 E/ T& t9 a) n+ E( b5 |•        Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
3 H# i/ D* N( v5 m3 b6 W; @7 l3 }" i•        Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department$ _% M' K! C3 ^0 V7 \
•        Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required ' j% c! v9 D) r$ |
•        Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency7 [+ Z& s) }' w- x6 m& z  l
•        Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services2 [9 D- G+ t) t
•        Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes6 G2 I% ]1 @' F  C  C0 {8 t
•        Prepare a regular monthly program report

•        Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
+ m0 K+ W. s5 J2 X# H6 [•        Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required/ g1 m2 }1 _1 N/ i# `! L; ?6 i
4 l$ S- R* K7 o$ o: j
INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS1 n" R( K5 O4 Z  A+ z4 D( C
•        Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
% z# j% ]: }: [9 A; q8 O. n•        Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)+ x9 g( @0 K$ r1 T+ e
•        Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
9 R/ }1 U1 F6 G/ }1 q' e•        Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

4 o! [8 t4 f$ y. K/ a) [Qualifications:: l$ h3 ]6 {4 h* u% d4 G; B
5 t& d- {1 p! [6 U/ _
•        Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination: [4 Z& p( h' X+ z: C. F
•        Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability" U; s  K9 Z, Y3 r! A2 L& \2 X
•        Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills  |8 I0 l, _+ \
•        Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills $ C' |' {  o& X2 D. C2 a
•        Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure( d. ?* G' h: E, M
•        Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects   |+ T0 @( ]0 y. i
•        Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
/ q6 p. p. s0 x0 r•        Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial % A* ~, e: H- R
