The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

OPERATIONS
# g/ N: G6 h1 F( {! W• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
, M3 s2 A3 h3 E) R; i4 t" ^" S( d• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
3 v1 V/ I) A6 @7 F5 j' `/ ]8 D• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge& E1 P# V& r2 q9 p {* G. I* q5 O5 }
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.( ?) W" Y1 v# C+ G8 M6 u& Y
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
4 _ c7 `+ t; Z• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.4 ?& V- O# n" }. }% U5 }! S
• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
6 P# w" P$ [9 k3 J• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities( u. C0 t. ^( F/ u8 ^
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

SPECIAL EVENT PLANNING ) }# t8 m$ M s. F
• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
: |. M6 k8 v: \, M, k7 i• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

ADMINISTRATION
# ~+ X* S7 Y- k2 I8 b; X• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
4 c( ?4 J) h5 `- G3 }• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
+ k, k7 E. O+ q8 [" F# k• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
7 R" k y7 \9 i9 Y2 h8 a• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department% @4 l, w7 c9 ~ W1 v" q% ]
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required - }. P7 x5 ?7 O( W9 F
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency

• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

FINANCE
# f& I3 f1 ~0 B8 S2 g• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
+ Q T* U5 f ~- t1 v4 k• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
: g' G0 z: Y, _0 z4 _7 E/ t• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers8 H* Q3 A9 B0 ~
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)& I6 W% E+ U+ N8 j
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
. b3 o3 y& G) q4 Y/ T4 \2 `4 U• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required5 `9 w# Q7 K8 k7 X+ c, J

• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination2 @0 T" m2 _# U% | G, n
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability; q! u+ h- T+ u+ v9 C# ]
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
+ `4 }7 N7 H: }4 v9 l( k9 e3 S7 l. A• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
( E1 z R/ y' N• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
