The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. OPERATIONS
8 @- L2 a7 o( p& I9 E' g: i9 K3 q: u• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.* s n) _8 h& R
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.! Z' @8 R4 R* _
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
9 R, K' d# F4 o2 t• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.2 g2 u+ }" t r
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.% e% U: E) [) N5 r1 |2 W
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours., v1 K3 _3 i3 V- F; L' ?' W
• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.; F7 g! z( K3 y' ?( t; O* E
• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities# }7 t5 M7 `5 N7 B6 ]6 F
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO- I2 V( L, \( R/ l7 l( l, A: i
• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up3 R4 Y6 n: W, p$ \" U" R5 ]
' M! i& \* {% [2 k/ |ADMINISTRATION
* `& h) G, L7 k• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position/ y% |' h0 E9 Z
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation% Q4 x% R( G& z: M" Q# h6 K& I
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
* X7 s# m5 N0 n& W9 q5 y/ S• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department& n, o7 o+ g) ?4 y' l' \7 M
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required 2 C. C* W( [! H* B* m, h. c
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency

• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
+ h% [7 c( j9 S2 O! B2 v# Z• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required; F3 q0 D; P3 w" K% o: M

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
" S% H T1 [6 u8 W9 t- C• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers9 y: T+ _% b7 {$ l' t3 G V9 J
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
& N, S& U* k% j7 n• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
6 T* a& _" W3 q5 d+ P: F• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required, n5 d$ J- C4 c' y1 }& Q

Qualifications:8 E( Z" G S# D5 ^
9 H5 @" t& E. M8 z( Z' c• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
9 N* U: d9 b) B5 U. d% ?$ t! p• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability( ]3 |* h) ^7 f8 z2 D) P/ Y
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills, x7 C% Z' P: ^. P
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
$ v1 ` ~' f ?6 H8 H, w) g• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure

• Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial
