Key Responsibilities & Duties:

" V( q9 `* m' k" ? Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
, y6 o7 `) J% Z% F. b+ u Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
  b3 g& a" R: M& p, Q( f6 L Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
% \5 N+ \- b6 u- P Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
" J$ k0 ]' b- i1 s% V Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
( h. _& h* h9 t; q' A& T Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
1 e" O. X: X9 [1 Z Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.


Qualifications:
  B; m9 o* V% k# U$ W# M7 n( ]0 ^
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
4 _& O% i8 B# ^+ ~- I/ B7 N- b Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
7 p  n& m0 r% a; R& @ Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
