Key Responsibilities & Duties:

& l0 X/ L5 `0 Z" k# h$ W: K/ R7 y Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
* v/ ^+ f: X: e: H( a+ ]4 {/ w Completing required paperwork.
. B  C4 c7 l: y& [ Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
, w# V8 J6 _9 P  C$ n5 v  V+ b Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
- i2 {9 o. v3 V* L6 O: Z7 V Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
: k( v8 d; {. G$ r. ~: d Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:
5 N3 W& ^+ P4 |; T3 h4 f
; l& I) j. E6 ^2 U: W* G Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
9 S7 ]3 [/ [9 S( Y" T0 J/ n Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
4 G- J4 v+ T0 G Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
  ~, e$ }5 T% D" b  \: [This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
! f. r1 f5 R. wstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
