Key Responsibilities & Duties:

# }9 @: |+ o4 X9 t' ?$ E( z" ` Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
4 s5 X/ [9 H  r  k5 q, l5 K Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
: K4 N8 D: M" a Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
& t  C; n( e3 e- Z Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
9 O$ x  m* d) F3 A Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
6 p+ f: v" S, w# S. t0 T Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
& ]7 P: z: |9 Q  Q3 P3 N Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
% {' E" E, K# U" E- J Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
  F7 Y( \; |; G6 D6 v Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
# Z, N$ u  I. D( U9 u Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
* e% J5 G' I/ {/ ? Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

1 y0 m5 L. y) y' CPosition:
+ @, N+ V! d, I4 A0 ]This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
