Key Responsibilities & Duties:

2 V! f+ m' O9 r4 n9 {. V* ` Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
5 |# s# U$ x' o9 x5 d5 ?$ X  M- L  _ Completing required paperwork.
: y9 @# @: F/ j8 x Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
$ m4 _; \) g7 a2 s Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
% x' w5 h3 C& S* `7 i0 m) k0 `* v Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
2 x1 z  P5 a3 s$ `( K! O Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

( k* Q% t8 T1 @% W
: X# R; o" @0 l' } Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
% o" W6 D. M. O! E6 ~+ V; S4 n2 v) T Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
+ f8 S! W. P3 X: z& B  z Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
& d) q3 S5 N* M" eThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; evening and weekend shifts; at an hourly rate of $12.50; starting February 8 2006.
; v! y+ t/ i7 t  t* zThere is a 3-month probationary period.
