Delivers, sorts and picks up mail, parcels, courier documents, cylinders, crates, dangerous goods, furniture, tack boards, tables and chairs, surplus equipment, and any related incoming and outgoing items
Z; k' @, ]7 {) r# [+ e' eObtains signatures, scans traceable items into Palm Pilots upon delivery to departments5 ^/ v% K( c* q6 h2 v8 I
Ensures Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations are followed on TDG shipments inbound and outbound, o/ O7 `: |8 s( j) x
Prioritizes workload and requests from dispatcher and team lead" \/ k$ P: g3 w% f3 z
Operates University vehicles from small vans to 3-ton trucks, including standard transmissions

Valid Class 5 drivers license - the successful candidate will be required to provide a Drivers' Abstract and have completed a Defensive Driving course in the previous 2 years.

Current certification in Transportation of Dangerous Goods; Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) certification3 u' \& l$ ]3 U1 @9 E6 J
Training related to proper handling procedures of Radioactive and Biohazard materials2 u) Q9 d5 x# [8 `* d7 P/ p
Ability to operate equipment including forklift, power-jack, pallet-jack, Johnson bar2 v# K( V+ m, T* L( g+ F
