Responsibilities
6 N) o3 T( m0 k4 S$ [+ K2 b) M8 p Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
 Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
 Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
 Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
: r* J( ?( Z: Z4 R8 X Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
 Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
  H# Y4 y; R8 p4 k! P$ j! } Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
 Social work degree or diploma
 Current RSW designation preferred   
- S1 y% d5 {) [* D( ~3 U; t Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
 Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
" X3 U4 q% K" W9 J" o, S3 n Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
 Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
; ]0 M; l! `5 z  i. a! z Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
 Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
