Responsibilities
 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
6 }. @" Y' m8 b7 ^  W1 l' _5 h Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
# t' y5 t: M% l0 \9 @; v# w Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
  o9 q! \) z# }" x6 q& s Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
$ e  g/ z: H$ h$ r# j Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
# u$ E# e9 L! p  o Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
 Social work degree or diploma
 Current RSW designation preferred   
  `' a% F& [2 a1 z- a+ D1 m Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
& {% o' l/ N! H$ v6 Z8 B7 b Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
' ^$ j& k3 b9 \% { Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
 Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
 Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
. u! r+ A! l' U6 k0 k* i# ], \ Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
2 ?; S0 ~4 ?) H" K! S% Z Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
