Responsibilities
$ s* d7 S$ x+ h8 c1 n5 b! b Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
 Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
 Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
# J  E0 X5 m2 ~( A% d7 F Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
) ?2 l; i8 v" C' y  Y$ J0 n Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
7 Z0 c+ O5 d+ {9 l Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

 Social work degree or diploma
5 x1 P- a) }  Z, @- F+ }+ |; o Current RSW designation preferred   
 Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
1 \9 ]/ p' F, c4 u Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
 Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
 Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
 Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
 Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
