Responsibilities
 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
 Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
 Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
 Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
 Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
 Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
 Social work degree or diploma
# L7 o5 a1 T# W  X9 n; _ Current RSW designation preferred   
3 M, z0 ]7 U! G( t* S2 G Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
8 X8 u; o/ _% E2 e2 p+ l! ] Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
& H& b$ S7 ]; C0 O Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
 Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
, n/ n" G  I. T2 u  L: k6 a: k1 | Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
 Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
