Duties B0 w/ j. K0 U
Develops and updates the graphic user interface including program interface (menus, dialogue boxes, file editing, etc.) using C++ or Java or other languages to allow users to compose run scripts and edit input files for a FORTRAN model) N1 Z. M5 F/ p* b5 b! J
Generates dynamic visualization of numerical output from the model using VTK or other visualization tools, linked to explanatory documents
1 o6 b& O) i) p* X8 S9 oWorks with staff in the MACI to determine ways to deal with the data and find innovative approaches of presenting results
3 T& F! ]- O O- A7 @# ?( f) D- z/ bImplements interface and visualization on portable media (CD and website) for use in research and teaching; implements the mathematical model "ecosy" in parallel mode on computing facilities available
+ e4 x; z& D6 d+ `. a2 g: Z. V0 ^; o/ ~Provides technical support to teaching initiatives at undergraduate and postgraduate levels using the mathematical model with the graphic user interface

Qualifications, a0 l' X1 D6 d* u; G
B.Sc. in Computing Science with specialization in interface development
7 D) T/ I: ?" R2 d. G$ s+ u! H: tRelated experience with interface development; interest in terrestrial ecology and global climate change an asset
; N s2 E0 C* O. S# w: VProgramming in C++ and Unix, website development and maintenance
