/ D# \( P" i3 c0 Q, }( j. Q6 w; l8 K" p8 FDevelops and updates the graphic user interface including program interface (menus, dialogue boxes, file editing, etc.) using C++ or Java or other languages to allow users to compose run scripts and edit input files for a FORTRAN model
+ |8 l) M1 z8 H$ z, {Generates dynamic visualization of numerical output from the model using VTK or other visualization tools, linked to explanatory documents7 ^' c2 f- h8 [" r6 i* R1 k
Works with staff in the MACI to determine ways to deal with the data and find innovative approaches of presenting results4 t$ T, }' b. H+ U% A6 Y- W
Implements interface and visualization on portable media (CD and website) for use in research and teaching; implements the mathematical model "ecosy" in parallel mode on computing facilities available% `0 z" s+ e" d2 A) W
Provides technical support to teaching initiatives at undergraduate and postgraduate levels using the mathematical model with the graphic user interface9 D- `3 h1 o. ?* Y g5 J& N1 {
Installs software and provides user support; liaises with users to enable their productive use of the software7 k/ L) z; V. |" u; }
Qualifications& i7 c) y9 w8 h" B
B.Sc. in Computing Science with specialization in interface development
! ]# B: }: m3 g! o, q" ?& MRelated experience with interface development; interest in terrestrial ecology and global climate change an asset
$ s- F- k8 f5 z r& y4 X8 I0 {Programming in C++ and Unix, website development and maintenance
