Position: Outreach Worker * C& @7 W |( r5 w. `$ N! ]
) v( \2 U$ y0 R# p. H* z3 n2 YJob Description. ~( ?! g4 M" N& [- s2 ^. o
- promote the Centre’s ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information
8 N; B# J) C. `2 K9 {; @- promote ISP in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc.
/ p' s; U5 J8 P Z% t4 C- develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP
. u; J" s2 }/ q) Y! O# W- provide support to ISP staff( Q) o% R: F& Y( `. M" |- L: p
- recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members
2 \6 I, I: D% X" h$ l% Y' H1 B- promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities6 U0 K2 w# @7 F
- outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated
! b3 ~4 |4 A* `/ r- attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants; W3 F% s5 m/ ^0 c
- adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals* P7 k, t$ p6 [4 d& i( z3 Y
- fulfill the goals and objectives of ISP as contracted by funder
0 `) f( q. v! ?; u- report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc.
: F3 g. l4 s2 `! e# f: B1 t6 h- recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with outreach activities
% W% |5 z8 k p9 C, y- assist with front counter services as needed and assigned

Qualifications
6 K# v# K7 [# d3 r- \& U+ e- degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered
, o$ T, p; y: p$ \) O- knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available5 F0 q3 e! ]5 p V% M
- experience in working with community groups and community liaison workers
; H- n4 C* E' N0 R$ I- good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software6 ~' E0 F& [& a# J3 j
- speak & write Chinese (fluent in Mandarin preferred)
) L/ W0 p4 f6 w; v* X5 ~2 a- good interpersonal and people skills+ b2 Z, I; l K0 f2 z1 U( q. Y
- good organizational and coordination skills
