A tenant must give a landlord notice of one week. The notice must be given on or before the first day of the tenancy week to be effective on the last day of the tenancy week.

A tenancy month is the period for which rent is paid which may not be the same as a calendar month, for example, from the 15th of one month to the 14th of the next month. For example, if the tenancy month runs from the first of each month, a notice given by a tenant on or before the first of March will be effective for the 31st of March.
