Role
, g/ K4 {/ p/ z7 v Reporting to the Team Lead within the International Relations and Marketing Branch, this intergovernmental and marketing position will provide multi-functional assistance to team members on initiatives that will strategically grow Alberta's agriculture exports of products and services abroad. The position will contribute to the Branch's mandate related to international relations, advocacy and trade development on behalf of Agriculture and Rural Development and its industry partners. If you are a confident, professional self-starter, have excellent organizational and communication skills, can prioritize, multi-task, produce consistent, high quality work and have the ability to be flexible and collaborative, you will want to consider this exciting opportunity.

As the International Initiatives Officer you will play an integral role in the development and delivery of dynamic international strategies that contribute to the operation and mandate of the Team and the Branch. This position works both independently and as part of a high-energy, high-performing team of intergovernmental and marketing professionals to execute complex initiatives including the creation of customized research reports on industry, sector, intergovernmental and market-specific intelligence, building quality briefing and communication tools, supporting government and trade events and building network information. ! g8 T: B0 r7 H9 [; ]0 N

The position may include market-specific responsibilities however there is an implicit understanding that the work responsibilities will be flexible to best support the Branch needs. It is critical that your writing and speaking communication skills be exemplary and that you are analytical and task-orientated. Your ability to master consultation and networking efforts to enhance Alberta's relationships with industry, governments and key stakeholders will position you for success in this role.

Related post-secondary degree in international business or related discipline, plus three years of related experience in international relations, trade, investment attraction, marketing and/or research. Equivalencies will be considered. Competent computer skills (Microsoft Office) is required. Experience in the agrifood sector, exposure to international business and cultures and foreign language fluency would be considered assets. .
