it's not difficult, but it's a lot of labour work.

you should always remove the old top layer for a number of reasons. 7 L+ N% A3 W( P V2 r: x
1, it is possible to grow mould underneath the new top layer if you don't remove the old top layer* J! H( {- r0 |& K
2, it's very difficult to lay it evenly flat all across

the old under layer can be removed or you can leave it in depanding on its condition. if you want to remove it, it's a lot of physical labour work.

. @3 g: x- B. u6 I. J' Zinstalling the new carpet is very easy, but again it's a lot of physical labour. carpets are a lot heavier than most people think. plus, you'll need to do your own measurements, cutting, transportation of new/old material, etc.

end of roll usually have good deals on material and labour to install carpets. give them a call to see if they can swing you a deal. depand on the size of your room and the grade of the carpet you're looking for, I'm guessing you can get away with less than $750 all in. / ]3 C2 E; C) J$ K3 c: v! t

ultimately, you have to decide if you want a professional look and feel or some quick and dirty fix. mix and matching small patches of carpet can be an eye sore in a long run. |
