In 2008, SEDI founded the Canadian Centre for Financial Literacy (CCFL) which is a national network dedicated to supporting financial literacy capacity building and knowledge mobilization. It acts as a national ‘hub’ for financial literacy in Canada.

( I2 W+ r2 N( }( k1 H4 [SEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada.
) w5 Z$ U" G! g' mSEDI is staffed to: ' z( _6 y; p8 g$ {# B, ~" u0 w' r1 M
• conduct socio-economic market and policy research
4 p- F. e( B2 @% j$ u• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners
5 {6 g o. ~1 Z2 \: _• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation $ i1 m( I$ q7 p! K8 }
• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs 4 s, z; a0 i+ M9 M! t4 y2 A
• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits ; L" h8 e) u7 ?: A, w$ d1 c$ [1 r
• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses

Primary Responsibilities and Activities:
: t: ^$ s: [& t• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada
; h% T" m+ o5 G, W8 z8 {* l; \8 ~• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc)
- k: `4 A+ I7 P• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required 5 S# g, F( t( o: W
• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities
2 r& g) R8 f# h• Working with evaluation and management information systems team
' w- V( j- A& w5 d• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required ( Q+ [0 c' e8 h1 g: g4 M
Other Activities:
7 l+ V' h: q' u6 |+ G• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies
- F, Q# \4 Q ?+ P4 G• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners * K& U8 b3 a* Q' v
• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting * A2 q- c" O: i/ A# u+ z" L+ x4 a. u
• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports
5 W M( ?# c. N0 ?. ?• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning % l+ C$ x$ o7 M- F9 V) t
Primary Qualifications:
5 x" V9 C ?0 V+ K# B3 m) ?& t% f• Demonstrated group facilitation experience
$ X7 U' P7 W. x, q4 y+ I• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media
5 s1 {: n8 L, @( X8 r. v• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training
/ @- J! }8 D2 J" w• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities 1 }) }1 i! {' X: E6 q; k( {
• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams
_/ j: v4 K7 ^; \; U- P• Passion, enthusiasm and deep commitment to the SEDI mission, vision, values and goals / M! ^/ V) p4 @' W- G- ^3 P# E
• Demonstrated understanding of basic financial literacy concepts
' w4 b6 |% U, N+ M, @" h• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them
. B l& y; F, a, m• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc % `7 \/ v: v+ e# ? z4 c( P' T
• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education 4 [0 M4 o( y; E' W: R- H5 B
• Content / curriculum development experience H" |8 g" f, S( |
• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners * J4 h% a, Q- w' R' s5 v
• Excellent organizational skills , z& ?# a/ N2 k4 [
• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc.
, Q" ^8 S! p& ` z! Z) n* X( h• Ability in French (both written and oral) is an asset 9 |; `2 K, _6 F0 @, l& k
• Policy research skill set is an asset
