Asian youth to make healthy and safe choice. Recreational challenges, volunteering

! ], |7 ^ d0 M, K, y( R3 Cand Canadian-Asian culture are some of the ways in which this goal is achieved.7 V$ a% S: Q# W% S0 ~0 h5 V

Each session presents concepts through interactive activities that encourage active discussion and participation.

These activities will enable youth to:

Regular Spring and Fall Group Sessions: runs on alternate Saturday afternoon from 2 to 5 p.m.
! _* d7 J' f! o" f+ c* G0 h/ SSummer Group Sessions: 2 consecutive weeks in July from 9 to 5 p.m. daily: M; Q1 x) M2 t/ M8 a# D
2 consecutive weeks in August from 9 to 5 p.m. daily- Y6 q# q/ Q7 ~) p- x4 ^; c3 x/ h

& L" y- l) I7 D2 t6 CAsian youth aged 11 to 15, who are new immigrants or locally born Asian living in Edmonton or surrounding area.0 e1 {! s) q+ z* N7 Y2 b7 |0 m( j

What is the cost of joining the T.A.N.G. program?/ l) ?- g4 a" o! x9 Y
It is FREE and space is limited to 15 to 20 participants per group.

Volunteer’s Duties:; w: ?* O% f* V' o0 U! O% p( k

 Distribute promotional flyers to schools, churches, communities and social services agencies ; i/ {! g; _ ]0 j0 n' q: `- e
 Facilitate and/or coordinate activity-based function such as to host a gym day or sport tournaments or workshop on personal growth development
2 i% p, L9 E2 c7 Z4 w0 Q/ d2 ~) w Facilitate or assist in ice-breakers and/or other activities& Q( ?# }0 u ?
 Facilitate or assist in small group discussions
# a% ~9 W* W8 b; C2 \1 g Research activities related to the sessions’ topic
5 f Q& c6 l1 `2 r Enforce safety rules during program sessions and fieldtrips- z `2 U J4 `* `/ A

 On-going volunteers (we have volunteers dedicated themselves to the program for almost 4 years)
6 d8 W& H, s5 x+ }! {5 [# l5 ] One time volunteers: minimum commitment is one seasonal session, i.e. 8 – 10 sessions in Spring, Fall or Summer
