YOUCAN is an acronym that stands for Youth Organizing to Understand Conflict and
Advocate Non-Violence. YOUCAN has served youth in the Edmonton area for the past
nine years and our mission is to equip youth to engage and inspire others to
% Y2 S. i! X: j0 G; y) vpeacefully resolve conflicts and develop healthy relationships in their communities.
The YOUCAN VERTO Project is a Government of Canada and Government of Albertafunded

2 M; W  n4 K# S8 U; g- |project that will bring at-risk youth together into a unique 15 -week groupbased
1 x+ p6 ]( Y* R/ y9 y/ A: ]employability skills program entitled “The VERTO Project”.
The goal of the VERTO Program is to assist participants in obtaining and maintaining
: w3 F% ]& L9 s2 z3 `+ m! ?9 s: cthe skills necessary to bring success into their lives. Verto program will expose
participants to a wide range of components focusing on: employment development,
personal wellness, technology learning, conflict resolution, and exposure courses.
# |; Y  \6 H5 ~: cAdditionally, we will incorporate topics around health and wellness, volunteerism,
and leadership courses. Verto youth will be provided with a six-month employment
! K7 e, X7 u" u& B1 a: P* pfollow-up once the program is completed.

Verto project will run from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday at the
