Job Responsibilities:

Payroll:: W( { K6 V5 i1 E+ I }
• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired
. Y8 [+ m5 ^# D. b* ^• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll- l( M( }; ^6 k0 v
• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records . d- J1 F8 s( r5 ^ A
• Input benefit deductions into payroll* O8 a) |/ K- _6 u. c3 k
; e9 ]! @$ k" K3 |5 x
Reporting duties:5 {( z% h/ u( g0 m) r2 @
• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider
/ w" e/ U0 o2 O1 d7 ?% s; `9 Q• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website
2 h' c z$ a- }2 {- c• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s
% p3 Z: ^8 q/ s& c• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority( t. v1 z) g1 D
• Complete employee records of employment and salary confirmations

• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll
7 i- G9 O% N' k2 z# q• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.2 ~/ _( I+ B' ^# D" F
• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies3 b/ { U$ g9 {9 y" ]
• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting

Accounts Receivable:6 B* o5 I( D9 v7 {$ N
• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit' q; t* w/ O" Y( T
• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department
G2 H3 W2 f9 R& Q) v0 H; C7 n! k• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments, K/ _2 X0 p& r- z t& W) \
• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing

' Q7 ]$ o! d8 O) D• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP
: e/ h1 ?0 R+ T" ~• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association
# g+ Y4 t8 N, B, l• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position

• Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy in work
