Job Description:
( @5 R1 _( Q: q5 r& x• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed e$ V+ D g9 {# ]) i6 k
• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components. L2 f8 M2 Q( {% w" n0 M
• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers7 B. x9 T# A/ H! @2 L
• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams
, g" N% _! r, k% ~& K5 S% n2 y• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place u- W1 n" `3 r, V+ s Z
• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment; e; A6 V' Q( S ?
• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools
8 R; R8 q) B% m, @- i' i( ~• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting, ?4 A0 q# j b) _/ d) a% F' y
• Mix paint, blend and match colors4 Z$ f0 K7 h* g* W( V# Z
• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns5 ]9 n! m9 i- @* ]. [# e
• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs& @; y# L9 R# z5 e0 S$ d! W; o1 X
• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation7 L( L& k: a4 R& [# k! f
• Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling

9 t3 @8 F- b6 c {• Completion of secondary school is required9 C) o9 [: O. h; T3 H
• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program : ~! e* W# G3 L# l1 w
or
2 ^2 j% E5 I3 J5 a8 M5 X* mA combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade
8 i% d4 H' `) f) T) Q• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory
