• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed
5 t! `8 U. w! ?& [" V" F7 ?• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
% \+ T6 w ^ [3 q7 D* q+ [• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers( W& G4 c0 L" Q$ D( p
• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams. }) k; B; u2 J" c
• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
3 p" }4 |2 A/ Y$ K- J( n. A• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment

• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting

• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation4 s& Z; {4 y- ?) f% O
• Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling

& N7 E6 R! b7 K, ]& X• Completion of secondary school is required
( b; Y! Y6 o# R0 A+ d! a0 D• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program 6 E- `/ U8 b0 ]3 D

A combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade
; t2 v7 N6 ?5 p! Y- K• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory # q/ S% ]9 b S
