* v; r, e; w/ T; q• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed
+ ~0 u2 |; g# U+ w4 ~; C• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components( i1 P8 b* i' `. p
• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers
, s6 E9 P, ~/ I( e7 H. t• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams
, H. {; L/ P" f5 h8 S• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
+ N9 I5 e5 {- I+ x/ ~• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment
" |4 R T3 @! S• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools' ~- Q0 F( U7 {# k$ b7 w
• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting
/ Q/ |8 z8 r/ F" ^• Mix paint, blend and match colors
5 |1 c$ V; p5 w" J* F• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns4 V- O( Z1 A. } [
• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs

• Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling

; @3 y. r* C8 b• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program

* j4 a/ ^6 W! J+ wA combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade
6 o+ L( D z" L/ j& d• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory
