In general, key aspects of the role are:
- j3 T6 Y7 H0 d# b: }3 E1 w; T5 F0 z-        Help define technical architecture and develop strategies for incorporating new
; X7 E, I. [; L5 b. C2 vtechnology;
  h1 J' {6 r' E4 E( n7 ?% f-        Identify where new technology can be used to meet business needs;
-        Review requirement and design documents to ensure follow department standards;
-        Participate in peer reviews;
-        Create and Maintain technical documentation;
-        Programming planned enhancements;
( o; U" Z& A/ Y2 R6 i-        Testing system changes;
-        Ensuring changes to the application meet the department standards and follow the
department’s change management processes;
& Y6 u- \, t  c% d" x# @# [( f-        Providing Microsoft SQL database support for improving application performance;
! w' i9 W0 L7 F( L& o; `' \7 [-        Very good technical skills to respond to problems from other developers;
-        Providing on call support after regular business hours as required;
0 }+ r* k9 o* f-        Lead short term projects;
) D8 d  E: U9 v6 O3 M% [3 P7 r-        Effective presentation skills are required to communicate solutions;
5 z  [7 K' P# P' P* v" r-        Excellent written communication skills;
-        Knowledge of the Systems Development methodology is required to ensure
effective delivery of service; and
. Q9 y5 \# p. _/ f2 O: I) }-        Understanding of project management.

# n' T" v6 S7 }5 y" y. }$ YA. Mandatory Requirements
6 q+ u+ @5 K7 X1 S; c1 m# `(a) Experience defining technical architecture and developing strategies
for incorporating new technology.

- S& E/ a/ b$ R' x4 P(b)        Experience developing multi-user/ n-tier/ Object Oriented applications using C#.net. (Maximum of two years of VB.net or JAVA experience will be considered as equivalent)
  W- S+ ?* D$ f
(c)        Experience developing SQL objects for an MS SQL Server. (Maximum of two years of Oracle experience will be considered as equivalent).

) g' k2 r- h) u# B(d) Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation with formal change management procedures.
# v7 H  ?- K1 a5 A; f
(e) Experience working in an environment with a team of 3 or more developers
& z5 }0 h0 Y2 x; ?
(f) Experience reviewing Requirement and Design documentation for quality to ensure application standards are being met. Creating and working with design documents/user requirements (software artifacts).

/ r8 v! Y; z  i4 U6 A7 q(g) Project experience with formal development methodology.

(h) Experience with one or more of the following tools:
- Infragistics controls
- IBatis.NET, or MyBatis.NET

- Microsoft Project Portfolio Server

' A  w/ m+ U" i+ b- |1 I1 |(i)        A minimum of 6 years combined related experience and education as stated below. Additional education and\or experience is preferred. Combined education and experience:
- A related University degree and 2 years experience; or
- A related two year diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution and 4 years experience; or
- A related one year certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution and 5 years experience.
