within a body that boasts revolutionary technological advances. The 3D color, L9 A: O/ n+ A' O
matrix metering III, wide dynamic range and the improved AF performance& f- w- U l2 y. c
in low light are just a few features that are glaring improvements. The D800
1 S9 l- j9 P' _+ |. r( v# ^allows me to concentrate on the light, the composition and my subject

was traditionally captured with medium-format equipment for maximum& R: g* M1 r' v Q' b
image quality. When the 35mm format was adopted within the genre, it was
; `+ O0 W x. lwidely accepted that image quality was compromised in lieu of speed and
5 ?3 T' z0 O: j P) Kconvenience. Now, my wedding portraiture will have a depth it’s never shown; {- y l, s: d* }
before, and my style of shooting will be enhanced rather than compromised,: ]0 [5 a' B8 s% V$ c$ c
thanks to the D800.
( k- k6 r3 W0 s2 k+ TWhen I’m shooting beauty and jewelry in the studio or fashion on location,
: e8 D, N, p# p) Z9 A7 F36.3 megapixels changes the industry standard: in image quality, dynamic
* N# D3 u9 X) G/ C0 ^/ Q$ D" orange, color rendering and the final print. The detail from the D800 produces
7 \5 U' k+ v# I0 G- k- xthe look of a medium-format camera, but gives me the feel and response of a
?8 n! S+ D' Y, d; Q% C9 l/ ID-SLR. The improvements in rendering skin tone and specular highlights, as2 W" J- s5 q0 h
well as fabric and hair detail are superior to anything that has come before.
4 L; e# d2 c3 LAutofocus quickly tracks models in motion. Nikon’s 91K-pixel RGB sensor
& T' f; @. |- h0 W7 S# y' Vhas noticeable improvements in metering accuracy, while the larger LCD is4 n4 m i, C. R8 H" }
easier to read. The camera body feels solid and ergonomically simple, while# d9 O# [! d% W- g4 }& U
also feeling lighter and smaller than previous high-resolution Nikons. New: g6 ^% x+ L, E0 f- l! \2 Y5 }
cameras always inspire me to test and explore, and all the useful features
" P/ o9 X: G& Q* Q0 v2 Z8 m. T0 qin such a compact package will open huge creative possibilities for my highquality! _1 @. A- U# Z) x4 o! {

To me, cameras are more like paintbrushes than technology. The goal is. T( Q+ `8 J* O( [# b7 G7 O* m
not megapixels or technique but the image, and while camera models$ B1 ^7 H( m2 R( S: d
are important, they are not the be-all or end-all. But after a lifetime using
* i8 u6 z4 v! v$ c1 }, qcountless cameras, I have found a new best friend. It was not love at first, J1 a. w g$ q1 O' j
sight. The sharpness and detail were initially intimidating, exposing my flaws7 H" }9 V; i: @ ?$ j' t, U
like never before. Subtle camera movements showed and differences of
v8 \! J- O- q4 Wacuity between aperture choices on various lenses were apparent. But now I
! Q4 T; ^) X" A* F7 A, H3 Tam enthralled with this technology. Why? Because the images almost feel as' \- G4 d' D0 P5 a) Z6 z7 g( Y
though they were made with a 4x5 view camera! Special features like timelapse
( a# \/ i# S, N3 u% S1 Ephotography and the improved HD video quality and flexibility also add
/ E8 R! o! c' ?, qtremendously to the camera’s personality. After spending a month with the5 {8 g" h7 G4 Q& A! c
D800, I’ll never be the same again. Perhaps the best compliment I can express
/ a9 i. F3 j/ f! Ois that now I will think differently about the images I make.
) W9 z( ^- q9 \* r: tAs a modern architectural photographer I am always looking for a lightweight,/ w6 L" D; d4 u1 g f/ Q, i
compact and reliable camera system fulfilling the requirements of my personal
9 g$ @7 G* r! e% e0 B! r" w; yartistic and client expectations. The Nikon D800 will set new standards for

now. Particularly, the live view mode enables extremely precise compositions0 q! e' g* T6 J: d
and easy focusing in dim lighting, which simplifies my workflow. Superior

architectural photography. From my hands-on experience I found that they* n B1 E W8 o
perfectly match with the newly invented system and produce breathtakingly
" n- m& |2 y" O, E0 f+ jclean, clear and sharp files. This camera gives me the photographic flexibility
9 @7 q5 V9 D& y. Tto work at unusual shooting locations and capture images in an exceptional- `+ Y/ {, c% A2 b' x
range of light. It definitely takes my photographic versatility and image quality
