Speed and power, without compromise. That’s how I’d sum up my impression

$ i6 x# W* j+ @3 P! D& }now inside a phenomenal, incredibly responsive Nikon machine. At 36.3. O9 @' H& @* }( g' g; K
megapixels, the D800 produces unprecedented image quality and resolution& o! X! t- p* b k9 M' Z
within a body that boasts revolutionary technological advances. The 3D color
. i* }$ Z' V6 f9 F* q) Q0 Y6 }+ Ymatrix metering III, wide dynamic range and the improved AF performance8 Q0 u4 {4 ~" ]5 n
in low light are just a few features that are glaring improvements. The D8007 |& N( W4 f$ q) m) x* |: W; r7 Z' v
allows me to concentrate on the light, the composition and my subject9 B6 Q/ Z4 j4 ]( w& }
without having to think about much else. In years past, wedding photography5 o7 R& e m# V: ]& r% A! B1 c
was traditionally captured with medium-format equipment for maximum& J/ X& A1 x. S, k A1 z6 o: u
image quality. When the 35mm format was adopted within the genre, it was. f! k: _! y5 i( V$ k8 u$ g
widely accepted that image quality was compromised in lieu of speed and
8 v5 b- }3 x0 _' \. \1 v4 Gconvenience. Now, my wedding portraiture will have a depth it’s never shown
1 g9 ~4 ~, b4 m: q6 q+ y- }before, and my style of shooting will be enhanced rather than compromised,

also feeling lighter and smaller than previous high-resolution Nikons. New
4 y1 h) E7 h- ?3 l( `2 e- W3 pcameras always inspire me to test and explore, and all the useful features
0 \) l+ Q7 j; I9 k- y2 v7 W/ S8 d \in such a compact package will open huge creative possibilities for my highquality% w- r# n6 L4 S- n

To me, cameras are more like paintbrushes than technology. The goal is
+ E2 i Z* x1 w: b1 D8 fnot megapixels or technique but the image, and while camera models
: f! Q4 n' }* T1 x6 dare important, they are not the be-all or end-all. But after a lifetime using
. L; a( v8 d: P# `5 b+ m9 Y& D; W# B& ocountless cameras, I have found a new best friend. It was not love at first! o$ A0 K: f, p8 w
sight. The sharpness and detail were initially intimidating, exposing my flaws4 K0 s% p) r5 f. q' o
like never before. Subtle camera movements showed and differences of
/ M4 C( h) O; Y: V+ e" V6 ?' zacuity between aperture choices on various lenses were apparent. But now I
1 a, N0 r% G- V! e2 w9 [am enthralled with this technology. Why? Because the images almost feel as3 j- a: z* Z. z. z' [1 M$ ]/ V. ^8 p

D800, I’ll never be the same again. Perhaps the best compliment I can express

clean, clear and sharp files. This camera gives me the photographic flexibility3 B: h1 P# g, c q* `$ K8 q+ h
to work at unusual shooting locations and capture images in an exceptional# u3 w) G8 n3 h
range of light. It definitely takes my photographic versatility and image quality
