Speed and power, without compromise. That’s how I’d sum up my impression

within a body that boasts revolutionary technological advances. The 3D color

without having to think about much else. In years past, wedding photography

before, and my style of shooting will be enhanced rather than compromised,

When I’m shooting beauty and jewelry in the studio or fashion on location,
4 j+ b0 V. z! ]36.3 megapixels changes the industry standard: in image quality, dynamic9 n' I; x4 Q: j: Z2 T5 V0 s q5 N
range, color rendering and the final print. The detail from the D800 produces: g/ w6 |6 G, T. P
the look of a medium-format camera, but gives me the feel and response of a
7 q6 E$ p( d7 T" v# j$ c3 CD-SLR. The improvements in rendering skin tone and specular highlights, as
+ o" Q* G8 g6 v, d; |0 Uwell as fabric and hair detail are superior to anything that has come before.
. H) @! d! S# i8 I% j7 n4 \Autofocus quickly tracks models in motion. Nikon’s 91K-pixel RGB sensor# t$ ]( L; g4 L7 {) X/ D9 r! O
has noticeable improvements in metering accuracy, while the larger LCD is
( V2 P+ n M9 leasier to read. The camera body feels solid and ergonomically simple, while
. Y/ O& ~0 t% L" c2 kalso feeling lighter and smaller than previous high-resolution Nikons. New, ?( _5 Y5 w0 [/ L K# W, {
cameras always inspire me to test and explore, and all the useful features
- T9 a: ?) T) _; Gin such a compact package will open huge creative possibilities for my highquality% o# `0 q; x. G* M: C. `

To me, cameras are more like paintbrushes than technology. The goal is I3 Y7 ], r( r: N; ?1 R
not megapixels or technique but the image, and while camera models
7 X, e3 S' d/ Q' T; L+ d: pare important, they are not the be-all or end-all. But after a lifetime using
4 H7 @5 U4 \& x! c! Zcountless cameras, I have found a new best friend. It was not love at first
, N4 v+ Q7 p& i5 l$ Xsight. The sharpness and detail were initially intimidating, exposing my flaws' O. _. _" L$ d& `0 ?
like never before. Subtle camera movements showed and differences of4 v7 K1 U2 Z8 n2 [1 k* `
acuity between aperture choices on various lenses were apparent. But now I; _6 @: Y" W% m0 l7 [* @
am enthralled with this technology. Why? Because the images almost feel as6 ~% |- Y( `5 C g5 \: B
though they were made with a 4x5 view camera! Special features like timelapse

tremendously to the camera’s personality. After spending a month with the
9 N/ I3 c1 m/ o& v) v+ @) H. K# AD800, I’ll never be the same again. Perhaps the best compliment I can express T$ ^4 {& i; X
is that now I will think differently about the images I make.

compact and reliable camera system fulfilling the requirements of my personal

/ D: m# v/ W( M% [& b+ |# Yarchitectural photography. From my hands-on experience I found that they
+ P1 u" o/ ?7 {) Gperfectly match with the newly invented system and produce breathtakingly
: G3 E5 C' h, Q' v& n3 Iclean, clear and sharp files. This camera gives me the photographic flexibility
; n: I ~3 i+ N7 Y4 A4 K$ Sto work at unusual shooting locations and capture images in an exceptional6 m2 e9 d B& X2 o3 Y* [; f
