megapixels, the D800 produces unprecedented image quality and resolution& F/ Y `8 M! b9 g. h# ?
within a body that boasts revolutionary technological advances. The 3D color& l) ]/ z; L1 k
matrix metering III, wide dynamic range and the improved AF performance
0 f0 c' a! ]0 y& f5 cin low light are just a few features that are glaring improvements. The D800
% E; w1 ~7 w; E# ?allows me to concentrate on the light, the composition and my subject6 S9 G( F' t* T) A q' h
without having to think about much else. In years past, wedding photography1 v( ~1 t- p8 i6 f- F
was traditionally captured with medium-format equipment for maximum. v0 x0 G+ g7 _( p. z7 H0 Z
image quality. When the 35mm format was adopted within the genre, it was
8 B1 A/ q4 P0 _4 B6 F2 K% Fwidely accepted that image quality was compromised in lieu of speed and( a$ o: O$ Z& G# V
convenience. Now, my wedding portraiture will have a depth it’s never shown* B# D( W6 p( u# w! Q
before, and my style of shooting will be enhanced rather than compromised,

When I’m shooting beauty and jewelry in the studio or fashion on location,) i! Q4 t7 X. j
36.3 megapixels changes the industry standard: in image quality, dynamic8 P! \: k4 a% Y; d& S+ y$ G/ _
range, color rendering and the final print. The detail from the D800 produces
: G9 |' n4 _- A% T( s0 kthe look of a medium-format camera, but gives me the feel and response of a3 X2 `; ]) g# M# g* i$ k
D-SLR. The improvements in rendering skin tone and specular highlights, as1 O& P- v1 g( s0 C6 N+ {9 _0 |" q
well as fabric and hair detail are superior to anything that has come before.
* C* z* v5 u. T# R- e" X% {Autofocus quickly tracks models in motion. Nikon’s 91K-pixel RGB sensor X4 w# V7 @7 D" `7 \
has noticeable improvements in metering accuracy, while the larger LCD is
% W* T( b5 l g+ @3 teasier to read. The camera body feels solid and ergonomically simple, while
3 T, Y6 Z& \0 P9 Calso feeling lighter and smaller than previous high-resolution Nikons. New
, l3 Y: c4 _, V5 E c: u% u: u4 acameras always inspire me to test and explore, and all the useful features
- u; `8 s5 O# U$ T- Pin such a compact package will open huge creative possibilities for my highquality

not megapixels or technique but the image, and while camera models
2 K4 P* B& W* A6 `$ Z# `3 ^0 \are important, they are not the be-all or end-all. But after a lifetime using
E3 G: @) M, g/ [& qcountless cameras, I have found a new best friend. It was not love at first' w- u4 ^0 N2 N7 k+ ~% O; {
sight. The sharpness and detail were initially intimidating, exposing my flaws
, L* B$ ]3 t+ c# w) Y5 A9 elike never before. Subtle camera movements showed and differences of

photography and the improved HD video quality and flexibility also add/ C, @1 c/ J, l, Y) I* j
tremendously to the camera’s personality. After spending a month with the
$ [$ I- f% g6 w( U: T, [2 BD800, I’ll never be the same again. Perhaps the best compliment I can express

As a modern architectural photographer I am always looking for a lightweight,4 I- H: E0 W; N7 u2 b8 A
compact and reliable camera system fulfilling the requirements of my personal

perfectly match with the newly invented system and produce breathtakingly
3 h1 K) D4 p" \& t7 [6 Rclean, clear and sharp files. This camera gives me the photographic flexibility
- P2 G! _6 f% h1 eto work at unusual shooting locations and capture images in an exceptional6 b- l$ Q# ~6 m' `
range of light. It definitely takes my photographic versatility and image quality
