within a body that boasts revolutionary technological advances. The 3D color
9 }' e- H; }* {4 [. @# b8 jmatrix metering III, wide dynamic range and the improved AF performance2 P8 v0 D$ l( m. Z7 ?
in low light are just a few features that are glaring improvements. The D800$ j1 M( i0 Q. X5 Y. b7 |- D& J' v
allows me to concentrate on the light, the composition and my subject' P7 y% ?) t* r3 f$ s
without having to think about much else. In years past, wedding photography% f" T5 s3 b% V# U7 h
was traditionally captured with medium-format equipment for maximum! u! { C. \4 W0 W. _/ {
image quality. When the 35mm format was adopted within the genre, it was

, n i0 I4 J" T+ d6 u% Mconvenience. Now, my wedding portraiture will have a depth it’s never shown8 @: h2 `5 _: u. u( d- _) a
before, and my style of shooting will be enhanced rather than compromised,

cameras always inspire me to test and explore, and all the useful features

To me, cameras are more like paintbrushes than technology. The goal is, m( j; e7 a9 i4 J3 p) n, v- x+ K
not megapixels or technique but the image, and while camera models
, K3 [" d8 J2 k! i9 {5 }9 |are important, they are not the be-all or end-all. But after a lifetime using
, E" u8 C( o# I/ a8 [& {0 ucountless cameras, I have found a new best friend. It was not love at first
# l$ D" I* @0 o+ J+ lsight. The sharpness and detail were initially intimidating, exposing my flaws
