within a body that boasts revolutionary technological advances. The 3D color

convenience. Now, my wedding portraiture will have a depth it’s never shown

* Z; Q" e; M! A& C' n, M% V: EWhen I’m shooting beauty and jewelry in the studio or fashion on location,9 F; a! Z1 S' z5 r- [" t2 G

range, color rendering and the final print. The detail from the D800 produces

D-SLR. The improvements in rendering skin tone and specular highlights, as' c* i/ }7 y# P8 o7 d3 C A
well as fabric and hair detail are superior to anything that has come before.
+ f3 _% z1 G% x8 W4 }7 e; _Autofocus quickly tracks models in motion. Nikon’s 91K-pixel RGB sensor
& w% p+ M4 H& rhas noticeable improvements in metering accuracy, while the larger LCD is
: X* B8 M; c5 j, deasier to read. The camera body feels solid and ergonomically simple, while
8 `/ f* v# l1 qalso feeling lighter and smaller than previous high-resolution Nikons. New
# M( x! M. H9 b* `' ycameras always inspire me to test and explore, and all the useful features
0 O9 p# |9 ?; f8 rin such a compact package will open huge creative possibilities for my highquality; i- N8 C* R) K! y# R: P* \. @

To me, cameras are more like paintbrushes than technology. The goal is* f$ l( N! W* F& g
not megapixels or technique but the image, and while camera models- n0 f2 F! { q
are important, they are not the be-all or end-all. But after a lifetime using4 i. Z& k% o9 q; C2 T/ K6 C8 V
countless cameras, I have found a new best friend. It was not love at first
_6 [6 J' s; M& O+ b4 T! wsight. The sharpness and detail were initially intimidating, exposing my flaws
$ v% Q. m+ }0 W. w2 dlike never before. Subtle camera movements showed and differences of5 `4 c% P8 I' S$ R) g$ h
acuity between aperture choices on various lenses were apparent. But now I) Y3 c$ f3 }% t6 z; U" Q: ?
am enthralled with this technology. Why? Because the images almost feel as0 u- z$ d2 n$ s: }, Y$ X
though they were made with a 4x5 view camera! Special features like timelapse

tremendously to the camera’s personality. After spending a month with the
