: g, _- x- [: y$ K! j% aallows me to concentrate on the light, the composition and my subject7 x# |4 B9 [! M- t* X) v/ G
without having to think about much else. In years past, wedding photography; U. W; \8 Q4 q2 S: M4 e% E
was traditionally captured with medium-format equipment for maximum" [0 ^& c. c% A' X) S3 l
image quality. When the 35mm format was adopted within the genre, it was: U' ^5 a" ] z6 L) k' v
widely accepted that image quality was compromised in lieu of speed and
% V" |% A. W& G1 {convenience. Now, my wedding portraiture will have a depth it’s never shown1 Q2 L4 ?& e) Y# e$ j
before, and my style of shooting will be enhanced rather than compromised,

well as fabric and hair detail are superior to anything that has come before.

has noticeable improvements in metering accuracy, while the larger LCD is
3 f$ _% {+ T" I* z2 Jeasier to read. The camera body feels solid and ergonomically simple, while
: N J1 O" i2 u$ |! {also feeling lighter and smaller than previous high-resolution Nikons. New7 o% ~+ N7 b$ n+ Z( O. S {
cameras always inspire me to test and explore, and all the useful features
; z9 R; B: C: N& ^* [1 }in such a compact package will open huge creative possibilities for my highquality+ O8 q. p& _- k- ^
prints and video.( q5 x1 {, b: U
To me, cameras are more like paintbrushes than technology. The goal is
# O) A1 n/ j0 b q) I! Z6 n6 xnot megapixels or technique but the image, and while camera models
Z9 |# Q* }+ Q7 e0 [ ^6 H3 qare important, they are not the be-all or end-all. But after a lifetime using
( t, G7 U! n O3 o% @' M; Z7 u9 jcountless cameras, I have found a new best friend. It was not love at first# p6 ^1 b! Q6 f, Q' i/ \
sight. The sharpness and detail were initially intimidating, exposing my flaws
! u& P6 F; p. Zlike never before. Subtle camera movements showed and differences of) w& U3 A6 w$ x+ S0 n1 u% R3 ~5 U4 Y3 m
acuity between aperture choices on various lenses were apparent. But now I
% U! `9 M2 r+ k# e& }1 ?am enthralled with this technology. Why? Because the images almost feel as8 Y) P) s N+ A" w2 I( z) R
though they were made with a 4x5 view camera! Special features like timelapse: L2 [. ]6 o ? D
photography and the improved HD video quality and flexibility also add" I Q8 q3 _1 ^0 f5 Q# B
tremendously to the camera’s personality. After spending a month with the" N% a1 Y) L1 a2 }- N
D800, I’ll never be the same again. Perhaps the best compliment I can express+ }5 H( b( m7 \# a: k+ G$ }( z
is that now I will think differently about the images I make.0 i8 S' [# Q. w& a; y% Q# z+ s
As a modern architectural photographer I am always looking for a lightweight,

architectural photography. From my hands-on experience I found that they3 z8 A- e) L# Y0 v+ U2 e5 `9 h* `
perfectly match with the newly invented system and produce breathtakingly. w, {7 R5 y& y# [
clean, clear and sharp files. This camera gives me the photographic flexibility
5 u( K. @* j/ r' z5 O+ ~to work at unusual shooting locations and capture images in an exceptional) G/ C+ v1 n2 Y2 F* \1 Q
range of light. It definitely takes my photographic versatility and image quality
