megapixels, the D800 produces unprecedented image quality and resolution

matrix metering III, wide dynamic range and the improved AF performance
/ v b4 _ _2 G' A& W8 rin low light are just a few features that are glaring improvements. The D8006 c+ l. l( r. |# ?# ]6 c2 _
allows me to concentrate on the light, the composition and my subject/ @8 n* i/ e' B1 {7 E1 T
without having to think about much else. In years past, wedding photography0 K9 B! s6 R" n
was traditionally captured with medium-format equipment for maximum
: @) s; K! K& cimage quality. When the 35mm format was adopted within the genre, it was
* H7 y- [+ c/ X3 D% t" pwidely accepted that image quality was compromised in lieu of speed and# S( y# h' h3 D5 w* S+ ~6 s# P
convenience. Now, my wedding portraiture will have a depth it’s never shown
; y6 Y$ V5 h1 w( T. {" P' i7 Q" }before, and my style of shooting will be enhanced rather than compromised,
; t8 m3 U' v* _thanks to the D800.
9 g" a8 K# i+ ~6 ~When I’m shooting beauty and jewelry in the studio or fashion on location,
: `1 I* j1 y6 _, T36.3 megapixels changes the industry standard: in image quality, dynamic
# a- t: C! S8 Lrange, color rendering and the final print. The detail from the D800 produces7 K4 F; f% r0 a: Y" A9 o" w
the look of a medium-format camera, but gives me the feel and response of a

well as fabric and hair detail are superior to anything that has come before.& Z8 m9 T: R9 C( S
Autofocus quickly tracks models in motion. Nikon’s 91K-pixel RGB sensor4 ]: H4 K. W. x5 f
has noticeable improvements in metering accuracy, while the larger LCD is
3 [7 N0 @. S: ?/ @7 Ceasier to read. The camera body feels solid and ergonomically simple, while
. O _" N9 M, V5 M, U7 T" y; yalso feeling lighter and smaller than previous high-resolution Nikons. New
# X: J& Q9 P; ucameras always inspire me to test and explore, and all the useful features
4 Z+ n7 m9 V$ W2 u$ v0 a2 }in such a compact package will open huge creative possibilities for my highquality

7 R. |/ J! ?: hTo me, cameras are more like paintbrushes than technology. The goal is

0 a+ ]6 j1 C1 F* x3 lare important, they are not the be-all or end-all. But after a lifetime using0 M% |/ l) Z) a4 M r9 t! o
countless cameras, I have found a new best friend. It was not love at first
# P- {6 [2 V( a; P, Q' Csight. The sharpness and detail were initially intimidating, exposing my flaws; R4 K# G* t; I4 `) g
like never before. Subtle camera movements showed and differences of
/ _$ X! s% W- K. O: L) Racuity between aperture choices on various lenses were apparent. But now I
1 H$ v' s6 M1 G9 ]am enthralled with this technology. Why? Because the images almost feel as

' ?# P8 k, F4 mphotography and the improved HD video quality and flexibility also add6 B# k& o( w- b* R% ^ i
tremendously to the camera’s personality. After spending a month with the
6 s9 J9 R4 U0 i( T, DD800, I’ll never be the same again. Perhaps the best compliment I can express* u' B8 X( o2 Z/ e3 G
is that now I will think differently about the images I make.

compact and reliable camera system fulfilling the requirements of my personal

1 }- k+ i) j6 _ D! g5 B3 bclean, clear and sharp files. This camera gives me the photographic flexibility
0 ^8 ^# `( K" e" U6 N Jto work at unusual shooting locations and capture images in an exceptional# r1 Z( f5 ]4 M
range of light. It definitely takes my photographic versatility and image quality
