Speed and power, without compromise. That’s how I’d sum up my impression

megapixels, the D800 produces unprecedented image quality and resolution

in low light are just a few features that are glaring improvements. The D800

without having to think about much else. In years past, wedding photography

image quality. When the 35mm format was adopted within the genre, it was

6 G; t3 @9 p# nWhen I’m shooting beauty and jewelry in the studio or fashion on location,

range, color rendering and the final print. The detail from the D800 produces

has noticeable improvements in metering accuracy, while the larger LCD is
. ` k* Y9 {* q" l7 heasier to read. The camera body feels solid and ergonomically simple, while6 g3 W4 c" V W$ y6 k Q
also feeling lighter and smaller than previous high-resolution Nikons. New
4 j- x) i' b) V* Gcameras always inspire me to test and explore, and all the useful features1 F" L. n* c- M9 z
in such a compact package will open huge creative possibilities for my highquality' s9 o4 l2 E% _4 N2 @. ]7 w+ t

To me, cameras are more like paintbrushes than technology. The goal is
; z5 ]0 J# ^+ \- U: |7 c) J/ Vnot megapixels or technique but the image, and while camera models% B+ `' B" l! G* R
are important, they are not the be-all or end-all. But after a lifetime using
g i" D0 d2 G8 f Scountless cameras, I have found a new best friend. It was not love at first
8 i& t/ ^* J w+ lsight. The sharpness and detail were initially intimidating, exposing my flaws
' @9 h+ a: n. m6 _. {; ~/ Xlike never before. Subtle camera movements showed and differences of

D800, I’ll never be the same again. Perhaps the best compliment I can express
