megapixels, the D800 produces unprecedented image quality and resolution

matrix metering III, wide dynamic range and the improved AF performance

/ t) o, T6 G+ n j: X3 a. V1 {allows me to concentrate on the light, the composition and my subject

$ l6 k- E+ x6 K- Lwas traditionally captured with medium-format equipment for maximum
. @4 S0 p5 N m" Nimage quality. When the 35mm format was adopted within the genre, it was i3 g1 T: U1 {7 g& G4 R
widely accepted that image quality was compromised in lieu of speed and" x- B/ U' u( X% m5 n( S G# w4 j
convenience. Now, my wedding portraiture will have a depth it’s never shown
: X3 o5 p$ N( L& Ybefore, and my style of shooting will be enhanced rather than compromised,

4 X7 i( e$ e- j5 n- N3 ?1 KWhen I’m shooting beauty and jewelry in the studio or fashion on location,+ U: Z' V4 q) H. M2 c' E
36.3 megapixels changes the industry standard: in image quality, dynamic A. b; g- L4 a9 V! q( A
range, color rendering and the final print. The detail from the D800 produces* Q1 n: D7 p! o3 X
the look of a medium-format camera, but gives me the feel and response of a
9 |3 W3 b' P' F0 u) o6 U! y" N& }0 oD-SLR. The improvements in rendering skin tone and specular highlights, as( n. ?( |& q0 ]. U! j/ t' n
well as fabric and hair detail are superior to anything that has come before. i8 T" o7 w Z' }
Autofocus quickly tracks models in motion. Nikon’s 91K-pixel RGB sensor/ L& t' [# ?: y" I" ?1 @& B
has noticeable improvements in metering accuracy, while the larger LCD is# \4 Y7 g7 R( u9 C# K! H
easier to read. The camera body feels solid and ergonomically simple, while
5 ~; R* ^8 L& ealso feeling lighter and smaller than previous high-resolution Nikons. New* Y7 E& H& e q' x+ v; C
cameras always inspire me to test and explore, and all the useful features
8 K3 ]# p- ~( x0 c+ w, e- Z& }' [in such a compact package will open huge creative possibilities for my highquality% z3 u2 ^, g& [" Q$ s h
prints and video.
7 U7 P/ ]" S! f* JTo me, cameras are more like paintbrushes than technology. The goal is
! F. R: p% V* l# rnot megapixels or technique but the image, and while camera models
$ Z. d! ^4 x( u: }& |are important, they are not the be-all or end-all. But after a lifetime using5 w: B& ?" d1 @% ~
countless cameras, I have found a new best friend. It was not love at first
& Z" C" U$ v z5 x9 u" |sight. The sharpness and detail were initially intimidating, exposing my flaws
. S1 V. D( N8 m7 @like never before. Subtle camera movements showed and differences of
5 {1 `. ~$ ?- ]: I* Jacuity between aperture choices on various lenses were apparent. But now I
/ g. x/ J8 t5 jam enthralled with this technology. Why? Because the images almost feel as5 X: Y3 j) W0 c$ s# V8 D ?- w( I
though they were made with a 4x5 view camera! Special features like timelapse

D800, I’ll never be the same again. Perhaps the best compliment I can express

As a modern architectural photographer I am always looking for a lightweight,

artistic and client expectations. The Nikon D800 will set new standards for

quality lenses such as the PC NIKKOR tilt & shift lineup are indispensable for" b' I, h& l( V) B5 e
architectural photography. From my hands-on experience I found that they

/ n+ ] }9 j' t7 s+ U; dclean, clear and sharp files. This camera gives me the photographic flexibility
