Position Summary:
% O' m/ `+ j$ v5 @' zWithin the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Alberta Human Services, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

Key Responsibilities:
/ V3 n$ `$ T- c. g• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person# k2 f4 F% q: [8 O3 \
• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST
$ I5 D- _0 O" x4 E/ N x• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately8 P1 b w5 {4 a+ M5 S0 i
• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter9 J! g9 ~1 j: y0 K" ~: U5 j; n9 h
• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents, {0 @* s6 {& h+ H/ L: i* s! s
• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker3 b% l7 l' |- G" }* Z0 N t- ^
• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events
7 l ^! b9 ^6 R. U( \: P• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events7 m. e5 Y# k" Q/ I
• Keep the reception area tidy and clean
; f& n+ [1 V+ Z: Z8 m$ y• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters" L0 E# J" Y# j$ _# G
• Maintain front counter service files. ~2 T( S9 c2 m, t, K# e, ?& D8 q' R
• Perform general office duties as assigned% l; G X" f v/ K! T& N, C; ^
• Report to ISP Program Manager/ M, s! v9 n9 b" A9 R8 O/ n/ o

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:: _/ _0 _5 q2 s' _
• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person$ c$ e+ ~2 y3 i$ p% U
• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset: b' Q) M( L/ e ]+ V
• Good English writing and oral communication skills
& Z0 t( }4 j+ f& ?• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients5 @6 y4 S0 w2 G8 w3 X% c
• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook

• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds

• Knowledge of immigrant services

% u. W8 [* O/ \, L9 X• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience
7 g5 l6 M2 @& j• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment+ T9 s% Y" C" @( {
• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism
, S: N+ k7 \0 K1 t2 B• Ability to work well under minimal supervision
