Position Summary:
, H5 s! }* x" R' {0 c3 FWithin the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Alberta Human Services, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker. + K0 D" v+ D* G3 X; E5 [ l% {

Key Responsibilities:9 @+ N- q' f$ c! Y3 e! D
• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person% U% j1 F. B- m/ }7 q5 W
• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST/ i$ W. G0 O) P1 d+ y
• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately% z( {. n+ A: C- v$ w
• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter
. X5 ^' E" X% T/ q# [• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents
, Z" v+ X6 H: w2 a Y• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker
% o) G: m' ~ o$ Z' y# J; S• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events
$ c/ \. h! ^3 w0 U( h7 Q• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events

) Q8 ^( k( l! L( F1 s) y2 G( Q• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
* A n4 _! i, |# V4 j• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person! R- K) q- f0 Z$ @
• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset8 x1 ]3 Y# a' ?5 c* ~7 `6 z
• Good English writing and oral communication skills' H, l5 U* F0 x+ _5 h9 S3 j0 p
• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients t! ^# Q5 \ h5 g; N
• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook
$ L% z3 _+ }7 k: ~3 ^• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately
$ y# y$ x( T$ u# H• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds/ _! b: G( P3 d' {# I% X
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment

Qualifications:& e( e" U! z& D) Z: i" o
• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience ' r- [! ~/ O, U$ m/ w* u5 F
• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment
3 L# w6 |1 h# U• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism
* J: F# {3 k9 U; u9 m• Ability to work well under minimal supervision- E6 p+ K# e" u: l
