Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Alberta Human Services, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

Key Responsibilities:
& r* F& u& R% `* k) u: ]2 H• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person7 y4 c$ Y6 q k0 f- i, c
• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST
$ I0 e( y* Q' D J/ f n• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately$ F# N6 p1 L3 r k. D) v0 g7 ~
• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter
8 K- i' ]4 n* |/ m( W4 c• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents
( k# B! [6 y/ h9 u" n! C. V4 C$ @8 U• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker
) I$ [+ F3 [2 f! \8 b• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events
& D6 f& l z2 Y) F3 r @• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events( |/ A. k# u) x7 Y/ S
• Keep the reception area tidy and clean5 s+ ~$ \! [. D
• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters
7 k6 [& Y. V1 \* A• Maintain front counter service files

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:; `& ~% C% S% [8 O
• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person
) R; P& Q2 v+ y# k• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset3 y$ d4 s6 s* v2 t
• Good English writing and oral communication skills
w: N" O. W- `1 U+ S• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients1 R0 \7 g% C5 h- {% s8 {5 A
• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook
+ }5 i/ W& ]6 h( \2 ?2 ~9 T) M• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately

, t( J3 Z+ Y+ o; b• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience
@! G5 S2 i: F9 B J* |• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment
$ n: p# h% _/ q, M' L \: O5 C• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism/ j, N* S3 n: ^% A3 G( R
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision {: W9 s! E" p4 B& W& B6 R: t
