What is the criteria for reporting a traffic accident? Can I phone it in?
% @1 g8 m/ M# f% Y# l" Y6 XEffective August 1, 2002, Saskatchewan motorists will only have to report motor vehicle collisions to police if the collision involves:6 r: H( E% m- U! Q
1) Any bodily injury or death;
& Z3 S3 ^; T% g0 O' ~# @2) A Hit-and-Run;
* f! H4 Y* x, o9 _3 G+ o3) A driver impaired by alcohol or drugs;1 y4 K. S: t: g# s
4) A motor vehicle towed from the scene;, b# N. E% _+ s
5) An out-of-province vehicle.7 k' f" A( ~9 a, v, s* L

Normally, police would be dispatched to the collisions described above. One exception may be an owner's discovery that his/her vehicle has been damaged in a hit-and-run, but the vehicle can still be safely driven to Police Headquarters. In such a case, the owner could make a report in person at Police Headquarters.1 z( R/ Z! N& C; D; D4 s
