Position Title: Community Development Worker

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community/ h( ?' `( S. ^
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
- v1 w2 x0 `* X% [; x2 `: n$ D- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services- F, G. W) i* u( ?- L8 l. f1 V; ]6 u
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
- F% m2 U0 a4 N0 B: d5 |$ t+ j- coordinate good will activities
) B( l# V( E& a0 C$ |- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members7 E( T( q5 c1 x: m
- submit information for community news
# z* C& S+ e1 G7 N" ]7 |- prepare and send AGM information to members
2 h6 k3 X) t, F: c# u0 Z- K- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc./ e! `" C4 J) O; o; _& y9 |8 Y2 }
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities

- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services

- write quarterly and final reports for ISP

- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications3 @5 T$ P9 \. V, `8 D7 \
- degree in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education
9 Z' l% m* P# r6 p$ z" a- good oral and written Chinese and English skills- N/ ], J: u- ~. G% ]
- experience in community work and immigrant services/ }: u( p/ k. b
- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars* l5 I- i4 _: ]
- leadership skills8 ?" M3 p7 a) p4 Z ]
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills3 d7 h6 k2 S% j
- sense of humor
