Job Posting
9 h5 [- a( l" ~+ bPosition Title: Community Development Worker
1 P( |. C1 Y5 k1 e6 G; SHours of Work: 17.5 hours per week. H3 [6 `( g+ x4 t
Key Responsibilities$ c/ w! Y9 u/ l! g7 f
-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community: ]' x) G  u0 v; r
-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
: F  R2 p7 D3 Q& \5 s3 J5 [$ G- O) H-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services
) d% B9 T7 t8 Q9 R4 Y3 l-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies- @: F$ U9 r9 {1 m: q
-        coordinate good will activities" D! C! ~* W$ O$ B3 F4 p0 O
-        coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members
1 L# o  T/ \9 e) e-        submit information for community news
  B2 g; y4 u: o, h& y! f-        prepare and send AGM information to members
; U% u# m! F/ _+ ~* L; J-        assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.) M! z- i: V4 \0 t0 e9 [, g! N
-        participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
' z- k# Z8 |/ b1 e-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
3 I0 u! Y# j3 }-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
6 o& [9 A' d5 O; l$ L5 _4 |5 U-        assist in writing proposal for ISP+ R" y0 U" O  l! ]
-        write quarterly and final reports for ISP5 J  y- j; n% |0 }5 Z
-        explore new ideas for ISP
6 i  Q/ R0 k( ]# t6 D: Y" x8 [! y-        hold regular meetings with ISP team
! \1 x' `. v) g# j' [-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

-        coordinate good will activities9 u, k5 i+ \+ |+ L9 s0 l2 x
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)) @8 A% @4 t- [
-        report to Settlement Services Manager

Qualifications
6 }& ~, C8 N! j  I: B& z5 C0 Y-        degree in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education
( D1 ]! b! C( E) R4 |8 O0 l-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
; o2 y1 G9 k- U# I  _/ S-        experience in community work and immigrant services
, n' ]. ]5 q4 f! b3 |" \8 o-        ability to coordinate workshops and seminars
; r5 e& E( z! |8 r# H-        leadership skills
. n+ j' i1 \8 U0 m0 r! S& h-        exceptional communication, interpersonal skills5 k" j1 u$ h- I5 `; R$ v
