Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator ! W5 `$ h1 B/ z+ n5 J& V
Hours of Work: 17.5 hours per week- U7 z' G- h3 K! U, A
Key Responsibilities
1 \9 x0 V f5 g- submit information for community news
/ g5 Y0 Z0 A! s- provide volunteers to update membership database
# X9 W5 P6 d' [- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
2 U9 z! {% Y) o& A" S' Q( w+ y- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties: B) [0 G5 @9 j& m' N' s' O5 L6 d
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties* v5 Y' w! T6 [6 n# y' c
- provide volunteers for various programs " z( y @9 h0 _2 R& k m) D `3 X
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
, Y2 Y& s1 j1 i3 j# p* P. y4 w- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation5 o( `' w0 L/ a
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities* H3 w; o: p4 \( o$ x
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services8 w. E* p9 {9 a2 _
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports/ B4 {+ h. w) L8 l+ h7 {: ]7 \
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
6 M# y# C- r' f- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
9 j. j; b1 T0 R5 y9 }, h3 s- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
/ U- [6 n5 B% {% m- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events 7 e/ J1 c% \9 e
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual * I( }$ Q$ x2 v- u
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
% v' S0 C1 S0 J- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers 8 W% n& b0 j: r- J$ Q
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis ! `; W8 q9 Q$ A, w, K/ N
- evaluations 7 {9 u( |5 W/ d) c& d/ s- d
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre H# n% ^) @; E7 g* \- P% W

Qualifications9 y1 u& Z2 t; T! y( y9 J* `, m1 g
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education, R4 r3 E( V. m& f B
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills" H) K P, q0 N9 A0 X0 W2 `2 s& `
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services* T' r( H5 L9 [! i/ e# I
- leadership skills
