Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

- submit information for community news
& ~; c/ M: N# h& c, g. }- provide volunteers to update membership database3 `8 G' X: m. w/ k2 v
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
0 n) G6 K5 ^! B8 O' k/ J- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties! d1 l% Q: U9 D$ |3 \' k$ o9 x7 O
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties# Y) n3 o/ D, H/ V$ i
- provide volunteers for various programs . m4 n. e7 i3 r. d) `0 ]6 o/ O7 L
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual5 P7 A7 x7 W1 p" u! `
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
( q/ F+ v. r/ Y- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
: F) q0 K; q% J. w' |7 g- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services6 z5 i$ D. f) s
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports% {* I. {$ t0 t& p7 P
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
% m( R- | J) m# S) q% w$ q4 t3 s- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed

- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events 1 u( ^5 D# z; p! l% b
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual 5 |5 n5 i4 A* y# a' t
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers ; |4 X; \% X+ r
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers * P# T' M6 w" I' O( m H
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis 9 K. N- H5 a$ U R2 j
- evaluations

- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education# U6 D2 v6 B9 _# J# O
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills7 E) Q0 W8 Y- e5 k2 ^
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services3 c4 c3 J$ v2 g
- leadership skills
