Key Responsibilities

8 Z# r# E- x1 }$ e& ^9 X2 d- provide volunteers to update membership database
/ g d \8 Z) r- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
1 y- w$ d. |# S. V! Q$ |8 l- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
0 j# w: A, C- y- ^- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties: j3 C+ x* ]0 q, U: {
- provide volunteers for various programs ) O8 M& w: v) w# R$ q I! t
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
& a9 C+ K/ m% l+ r% I m! p- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation% U) f; x9 ~3 s$ ~
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
; Q! p" L9 A/ @: C5 Q8 e& ]: l( i- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
1 i( j8 d! a0 e/ Y p- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports

- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed0 T- J" W3 I v3 s8 ^- R, q& A
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
- I8 H. G9 b' a" f% }) f- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
7 P. `9 r7 p5 K8 K8 Y- development and distribution of a volunteer manual , A7 [1 q6 u9 m" ?% u) p& A+ u' L2 O
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers 8 v, R! X" W) h" E3 L
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers 2 B6 T3 n9 |6 ?: W* }7 h% z
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis 0 j. { P% T8 k1 |: t; j* d
- evaluations

Qualifications
( z/ o V8 r* u- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education- S& s5 _* R t; b
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills+ G" `+ { H& G4 L. g
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
# _8 `! f; i: I' d' ]( o( H. W- leadership skills
