Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

- provide volunteers to update membership database) r0 D' W8 v* ?: P
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
3 q% L) [# |5 v" L- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties+ M f/ S+ z" p9 V" d4 S9 a
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
" j# Z5 v* {/ U x& @( E5 B- provide volunteers for various programs 6 A% F0 X, W8 K9 \" v* f- D
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual/ `# [+ V4 W& E" r7 N
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation2 x" Z% s# A( y' d
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
. I* K H6 S; } x: |( S- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services( q# m" J6 j$ {/ K. r4 o
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports/ F: X+ Q2 C$ T: w$ P4 L
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed! b9 B7 V% D6 E& Q
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed2 @3 I" J. r, p0 u. d H
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
' E0 C- \- Z0 W/ A6 A( J( a( M/ G; `- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events & s0 { Y, K, z: o2 G5 s! @; a
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
4 [ M' H# K! p. v* Q- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
& k7 _4 j+ d$ S, X# r8 N- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
. h# X" Z$ R: s- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis % e4 f4 D& F2 @9 v0 ~2 Q; D
- evaluations

- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education l7 x% k" `0 D4 W! `
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills" Q7 l% o# e; a
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services: w* V9 K* R% w' q% s
- leadership skills

- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
