" W8 @9 m) G& l. D' hTo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)# t5 y- c& C1 d& ]" a. @( f
% S4 w! L2 d, e' G* G. MAdministrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
5 c0 [+ n" X% [5 ^) K• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
8 r! K; E, n* H7 I' _& a; s• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
# J2 `: }/ G, g" K3 i: ?. v, s- V5 m• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;+ o! z# d B' i* |9 u0 C4 s
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;
, d- ]/ |; M# B0 H• Risk Management and succession planning;

% {( g8 v7 f, R! R! mProgram Duties and Responsibilities include: ! C1 y/ Q+ K r0 g$ p) F, C: b
• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;9 T6 ?! Y6 j( ^
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
. Z+ M: a! g0 h# k* ^9 c• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
9 D4 r: l! {0 g# {% t• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
+ V- y! c. d) n6 C( E2 X• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
/ O7 P$ n5 e4 Z4 d0 |/ r• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;( r$ W( D( f1 v# r' Z0 E
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;& v2 A+ m+ r* i- a
• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

, q8 p& r+ M5 E% |" WQualifications:
5 y: ^/ W% o% ?( H+ g, n2 ^. e- w• Degree in communications, human services or related field; Q0 @! b; O& Q+ o3 {
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
0 t6 O5 u4 D: E/ |3 c& x' n/ f• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; 9 }) d: p& r1 ] E9 O' S
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
$ P2 d4 A$ W$ m• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
- D7 [; \3 x2 B8 ^# L- t• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
! h% o) w0 n& I# V; o• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;, S# o4 c/ X' J1 \9 [) E
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
' R2 o3 b- A# {# l5 ~• Current valid drivers license;( Q- t4 }( G( }3 ^; k" p2 }& t2 v
• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;' e! R, E. U8 A1 W
• Conflict resolution skills;
$ f3 {2 ^3 y; Z5 c4 z9 }• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
! r# J H- ~' Z; q4 G9 R• Committed and passionate about children;

Salary is negotiable and will depend on qualifications and experience.
