Job Title: Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project

Job Purpose:/ H% v! y5 e; h% a
To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. " T. Q6 D4 d4 Y: Q. F6 c9 R

• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;

• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;

" [- g7 K$ o; MProgram Duties and Responsibilities include:
; `8 l8 J# `/ ?; g• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
- B( T* B+ E* a" s1 H0 w• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;, E; z) g8 T) F1 \; _
• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
5 u9 x! ~9 [" V" p3 N0 s• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
) `7 W; n6 x6 z! E3 w$ y• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;) s- O) [% B* O$ F" O/ X% r
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;

• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;) _! g# u1 ?1 |) _

^# \. T$ d- |" o' W9 c/ F• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
! m9 W5 F' x* M5 l: T7 q• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
1 l9 F3 D% ]: {8 o2 P• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; % |5 O0 Z' I% Q. j) o% V
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;" T, S+ ~0 E" t8 k
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
4 _: S4 i$ Y' L( u9 r• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;8 L5 F7 n" [+ E, @$ E" o
• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
0 g5 C2 X. e7 [6 k• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
) p5 S+ `' g, Z f. o( |& J! }• Current valid drivers license;
, f5 K6 H/ K+ g• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;3 |# W2 `6 [5 O* @
• Conflict resolution skills;2 g( h% U& N7 c3 B K
• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
