To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

- w% K c9 ~: ?4 S! PThis is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

3 s" H+ \% ]. w6 H5 G5 G• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;9 t$ f) R& C8 k' e/ }6 \/ g
• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;7 C$ W: a- u# j/ X* C. }
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
5 u4 R1 v/ M4 v1 f9 _• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; ! E; w* v3 E* k3 e6 v5 W; b
• Risk Management and succession planning;! m$ ?' [" J6 N. @2 c; j2 T
* _/ d' H* l. [; R$ P5 ?5 dProgram Duties and Responsibilities include: , t& {1 k) W* N
• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
1 u" U) V: Q- l. m+ M4 V- ]• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
: x8 P& Q- Q/ Q' F• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
S4 C% F- x" Y( X) p& y# F/ l• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
7 x+ `+ q; C) W4 X5 w0 u+ ]• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;6 U7 x4 \0 t0 t. C5 G0 E/ K
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;: E" f B# h( `1 q# x8 [
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;* q# ^) O& k7 M1 P
• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

/ c1 A8 D* r4 Z• Degree in communications, human services or related field;6 H4 E$ M7 E- c+ f, b& Q
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;/ y0 u! E& e' D1 T6 r. _
• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; - M' _' H9 M8 f6 o3 b2 t
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
) _6 E, |( A" Z• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
1 e! a# D) @) V6 x$ r8 ^• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;0 I1 k& Z9 b8 F9 f$ D; i: E- s8 Z
• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;& t* w" d" w+ Y$ y; P
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;

• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;

• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;2 F0 F/ t) Y2 h1 W7 A* p7 R+ r$ L
