Job Purpose:, z4 ?; n* E y
To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. $ O& {* u5 c/ f0 y* q
* g2 d$ |0 b8 U8 I0 ?2 KThis is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding), ^: @$ q" \ J: q( z; I2 W

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:2 y: ]! x+ e% [/ x. X7 y) K; H
• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
( l9 T F, p. q0 a• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;' Z2 R3 h% T0 p, F- V, n" F
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;+ |9 A0 O H1 l: i+ Y! z3 a7 n
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; 7 b, X) t6 Q; d0 o8 R, ?& o
• Risk Management and succession planning;6 D' m! W2 D v$ S8 t/ M0 d/ g

Program Duties and Responsibilities include:
! f8 s0 ^3 @: H- p) w• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;1 ]. e; I+ @# S9 D1 z
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
( A5 f, R1 z0 _. l• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
- g7 D/ S7 Y' d• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities4 s8 b- f6 w2 y3 c9 X
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
- ]' l' l1 D' a/ j5 h• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;, x' e2 e) r: g8 K
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
& U0 A. a' F1 ?+ W: X• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

Qualifications:
- K# y1 z/ U: d• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
2 L6 S; R5 ?% o$ B1 ^0 D• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;$ ?, f# A' c4 z) a
• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;
0 o7 d; k& s9 ~, b• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;( b* P: x0 D1 E2 M3 [
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.1 I) |# K- ?) `* A ~# k
• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;) a1 m: D8 r$ A; F4 x( w" K
• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
z; Z/ N& P N9 h F7 c• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;% z# S# ?" a( B$ E. |
• Current valid drivers license;
+ H2 B0 k3 _' j" Z5 `' n2 A7 M• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;& R$ L" c# P; P. R
• Conflict resolution skills;
; N9 m" e- d; n; H# m& B• Clear understanding of professional boundaries; d9 y+ S9 F+ T1 N2 r" q: c, `" X
• Committed and passionate about children;

Salary is negotiable and will depend on qualifications and experience.
