Edmonton police have arrested and charged a 26-year-old man with a weapon offence, following several recent gun complaints in the southwest community of Riverbend.

A male wearing a balaclava and carrying a handgun was spotted by a pedestrian walking in the area of Falconer Road and Riverbend Road at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.2 L, g+ i! {' _0 o+ d' s' _$ x

Police arrested the man later in the afternoon at the Terwillegar Recreation Centre, after receiving a tip from a resident.3 a1 R4 [: j; h

A search of the man's home turned up a BB pistol and balaclava matching the description given by witnesses. The man is charged with possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes.7 c; D+ [7 z( j( x: Z3 T9 V$ M7 Q
