Edmonton police have arrested and charged a 26-year-old man with a weapon offence, following several recent gun complaints in the southwest community of Riverbend.5 F. b7 T) X5 i* f4 l, I3 a

A male wearing a balaclava and carrying a handgun was spotted by a pedestrian walking in the area of Falconer Road and Riverbend Road at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Police arrested the man later in the afternoon at the Terwillegar Recreation Centre, after receiving a tip from a resident.$ f* g( s0 w+ K' R
8 w$ d$ ], ?$ C8 {A search of the man's home turned up a BB pistol and balaclava matching the description given by witnesses. The man is charged with possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes.1 c4 B! I( U7 J1 G! w" w
% x- j3 h6 Q: q9 \" O0 LA man wearing a balaclava and holding a handgun was seen in the area on two previous occasions — the first at 4 p.m. last Friday near the Snow Valley ski hill parking lot and on Saturday on the Terwillegar Drive footbridge.
