Anticipated Start Date: The candidate is required to work immediately

Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment and Immigration, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person" h2 K$ E0 }3 w4 U: V( I
• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST
: H k+ q' b. B3 u; X) O4 S' v• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately/ E* M, w& }# P+ n; \1 o
• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter
Y9 M) R& Q/ x# d" Y" E, A• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents8 u4 B2 g7 |" p4 j8 }) ?! e% {
• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker
$ u( X( {( l; w/ M& `• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events% o6 N( P7 {# R0 u5 O
• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events
: `* X' A* F' t+ Z+ o+ E7 \: }- Z• Keep the reception area tidy and clean
8 W2 }8 g1 g, \. W; N3 A• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters

v3 L, n9 r' ^9 t9 zKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:+ j. E0 S4 f' e
• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person4 C+ Q6 |0 D+ o- n0 b5 @: {) y. ?8 j6 {( C
• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset, W3 M7 ]# v5 }4 `4 l+ J6 h L# A
• Good English writing and oral communication skills
7 ^ {- q8 A2 x# H L0 X3 P• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients
* Q; o4 P# ~/ c/ G2 _ m• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook7 G4 E' K8 x) ^0 F+ X
• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately * b$ j! O4 y5 V" q" k) d0 n
• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds5 L0 r5 l& W6 L, a7 W+ h
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment, w* r( Z, e9 E0 F: d
• Knowledge of immigrant services

Qualifications:
0 r& i. B! i1 J2 {: o• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience " y8 R) I' X/ ]3 [) {- y) [
• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment6 J$ G# d9 i" T; `
• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism9 b# _! D' b9 b
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision O ~( J+ q; T! S- w$ A2 g/ z& a. _
