Reports to: Fabrication Shop Supervisor

Location: The job is based in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, however frequent travel to project sites in various provinces of Canada is required.

+ D6 E4 h. c7 Q( o  Y4 z9 RResponsibilities and Tasks
" e9 L0 l; a  H  Y0 A
-        Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment  
-        Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements
-        Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
-        Select type and size of pipe required
-        Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
! L! A! Y: Z% F9 V' ^, Q-        Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
-        Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
( y! p6 b8 B* d$ s! b-        Test system for leaks using testing equipment
-        Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system
( ~: v  w. L  e7 N' y6 E  L* _-        Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system
-        Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program
-        Other tasks related to pipefitting as may be required during the course of business

Required Qualifications
; v7 Y3 C% Q' `$ [
' {. Y& @, |5 j3 W-        Completion of secondary school
" J+ S% f2 z4 W  h! _-        Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation
-        Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
-        Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
-        Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset
-        Safety tickets are considered an asset
-        Valid drivers’ license is an asset
- |$ k% S+ M, d6 K( ~-        Interprovincial Red Seal is an asset
-        Valid driver’s license is an asset
