' J6 V: }% q6 G! U5 W& X! `/ i
; Q4 O+ t9 w# X6 H5 O- Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment
7 S# _/ `( @! m8 N+ C1 d9 }1 s6 A- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements
, c3 L1 ]; P' |- Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines/ K0 K# b% E' {# n2 ^! N
- Select type and size of pipe required3 G0 D8 [4 \+ I: s. C& I
- Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
, \0 m, W1 B. o8 o6 H. K: S( k0 W- Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system

- Test system for leaks using testing equipment/ L" r& k' J7 W# _7 P
- Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system
- r( l: P G8 c2 B4 ]% \- Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system

Required Qualifications- ^# D; |9 E/ W" d+ e; J
9 ?3 p) m0 G/ m/ r3 y- Completion of secondary school
( ^( ]& Z: f+ P; ?' X% ^- Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation : f" r1 X$ O( h: E. ~4 ~
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals# t6 h; G1 E% m3 n, i
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
