Responsibilities and Tasks+ n, ^" H+ v* c) I* B
0 @7 U" l1 Z: D% H$ z' N- Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment $ _7 v* H# T( {1 L1 X
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements! S$ f Y$ x7 {7 p$ ]2 @" k
- Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines9 B1 N J3 L; @( d
- Select type and size of pipe required
7 d' N8 u. t" Q$ C, v- Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools. T4 x7 ?& x5 i" R
- Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system$ T% M! C5 L( R
- Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
& l1 {- y6 {8 F# G5 |/ [, v- Test system for leaks using testing equipment: f* T. c$ Y% i3 T5 o7 t
- Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system4 ~1 {% S, p6 \
- Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system% @3 [4 {! j1 k# Z- m
- Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program
; K3 Z2 q% `' u \) o% Q: J2 K- Other tasks related to pipefitting as may be required during the course of business0 q+ ^3 t, f+ H: X

5 K" j K0 }' c, nRequired Qualifications
A4 r3 p* j+ ^& U( R. @/ K) q3 g$ v, @9 `* x/ M" K* h
- Completion of secondary school
0 o& n9 l- Q% s. n3 ~9 S3 I- Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation
! l) m- V/ R" v6 L- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
4 @* }" O1 E2 h2 q$ L9 D- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
2 j$ U* U2 |9 K. H( x- Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset" ^9 d6 Q$ U9 J4 \
- Safety tickets are considered an asset

- Interprovincial Red Seal is an asset
