6 z! S8 n2 J; wLocation: The job is based in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, however frequent travel to project sites in various provinces of Canada is required.


Responsibilities and Tasks

0 @7 U" l1 Z: D% H$ z' N-        Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment  
-        Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements
-        Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
-        Select type and size of pipe required
7 d' N8 u. t" Q$ C, v-        Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
-        Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
-        Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
& l1 {- y6 {8 F# G5 |/ [, v-        Test system for leaks using testing equipment
-        Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system
-        Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system
-        Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program

  A4 r3 p* j+ ^& U( R. @/ K) q
-        Completion of secondary school
0 o& n9 l- Q% s. n3 ~9 S3 I-        Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation
! l) m- V/ R" v6 L-        Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
4 @* }" O1 E2 h2 q$ L9 D-        Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
2 j$ U* U2 |9 K. H( x-        Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset
-        Safety tickets are considered an asset
  ^7 F2 E8 t. Q  c6 P$ L-        Valid drivers’ license is an asset
-        Interprovincial Red Seal is an asset
