The College's Objects as follows under The Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009:& A3 G+ \ ^& T$ U* f, y+ N
1. To establish the scope of practice for trades.

2. To regulate the practice of trades.

4. To develop, establish and maintain qualifications for membership in the College.

' T2 u8 b+ I9 C& V) x+ R5. To issue certificates of qualification and statements of membership to members of the College and renew, amend, suspend, cancel, revoke or reinstate those certificates and statements as appropriate.4 U2 M7 W& X/ ?2 E2 p

6. To promote the practice of trades.# H" q% Z; m6 I
' y7 R/ Q) p$ a7. To establish apprenticeship programs and other training programs for trades including training standards, curriculum standards and examinations.

P* b! F m& Y+ q* E9. To determine appropriate journeyperson to apprentice ratios for trades subject to ratios.

{) F! h% P5 e* q% k12. To address compliance issues in respect of matters within the jurisdiction of the College.

13. To provide for the ongoing education of members of the College.3 h5 k8 f% h& \4 ?
6 B. D+ `. O; J r2 ?4 ^14. To work with other governments in Canada and the Minister with respect to the interprovincial standards program for apprenticeship and with respect to qualifications required for trades.* n' C6 s& y+ a8 z s

16. To perform such additional functions as may be prescribed by a Lieutenant Governor’s regulation. 2009, c. 22, s. 11 (1).
