JOB FUNCTIONS:

- h3 J9 N% y; L* |# w& Y• Support capital projects and network build activity with coordination, installation, and commissioning duties • Respond to corrective network problems, performing effective/efficient problem analysis, rapid troubleshooting diagnosis and prompt repair of equipment to ensure service restoral objectives are met.

$ y1 X4 J. y3 x% a' P& ]! M+ }• Coordinate with other Technicians and departments as required to obtain maintain service levels.

# w" v9 j1 {1 }3 Q0 i5 p& S6 N• Plan for and implement preventive maintenance routines to ensure network standards of performance are met.

5 u6 @. ~; `5 j* w, h; c• Perform cutovers and upgrades on the network as directed by work orders.

• Maintain "up-to-date" site documentation as outlined by the EWO initiative.

• Perform acceptance tests on newly installed sites and equipment to ensure results meet design specifications.

) k  f+ L" w+ n$ u• Microwave and Transmission experience (e.g. DS1, DS2 ,DS3, OC3, OC12, IP) • Gain in depth knowledge of key quality service indicators in geographic area of responsibility.

- P3 R# [, `) W! I( k, D& |: S3 z• Optical Fiber, SONET and knowledge of TCP/IP • Participate in retune activities associated with network optimization and build activities.

• Maintain inventory of required parts and perform regular audits to ensure availability of parts.

6 G# I0 k$ ^: }7 ?3 x  H; Z) S• Administrative reporting of Mileage, Timesheet, Expenses, Equipment and Deficiency ticket updates etc.

• Test hand-offs, RSSI, transmit level on mobiles, dropped calls and investigate any changes.

• Document activities for future assessment analysis.

• Maintain current documentation of site status, complete trouble tickets, incident report and other required reports.

3 K. P, J0 R1 W• Shift work, overtime, and 24 hour on-call support may be required on a regular rotational basis.

QUALIFICATIONS:

' K" U) z( P) Y# j& x5 j, ]6 a• 5 years of telecommunications experience.

• Diploma or Certificate in Electronics from a technical institute.

• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

4 Z; ^8 a7 {. e# s& K# b$ i• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

• Standby, overtime and shift work is required.

Additional Comments:           

The Manager is looking for a contractor with the following skills:

-Telecom Diploma with at least 2 years of post secondary education -Experience working at a cell site -Must be willing to travel around Alberta (expenses will be reimbursed) -Experience with Spectrum Analyzers, Internet Protocol Analyzers, RFC testing and Microwave testing *The manager is not looking for Engineers.

*The contractor will not be required to do any climbing This is for a large LTE Expansion in Alberta.
